  9. Exactly! Big rock flats adjacent to wind blown islands have been key of late, we have had 35+ degree days here in Ontario as of late and there are still big fish up shallow sunning themselves.

  11. *** *** 6'10 ML xfast Best $100 rod you'll find.
  12. The problem in there lies with people putting in warranty claims with rods that are 10+ years old. We had a old Clarus come in the other day that was 5+ years old and we had to honor the warranty. In all reality if a rod is going to break due to manufacturer defect it will happen the first few times the rods on the water. The main reason for proof of purchase to honor the warranty is to weed out the folks buying used rods off Craigs list ect. breaking then and then asking for a warranty claim. The green is hit or miss some will like it other won't, similar to the red Cumaras. I don't know how they will pair aesthetically with the Lews but I can say they do look great with a new Curado I
  13. I got the pleasure of being invited to the Shimano cottage in northern Quebec earlier this week and we got some time on the water with these new Crucials and they are a big step up from previous generations. They went back to cork both full&split grips as it seems that's what everyone wanted, the new custom reel seat is very comfortable to fish with and the carbon cross weaving really improves the rods taper and overall rigidity. I got away from Shimano/Loomis in the past couple of years when in my eyes they dropped the ball on a few items in they're rod/reel line up but with the new lineup they seem to have hit a home run and will have many angler back using they're products. It should also be noted they are stepping away from technique specific rods in the Crucial line up.
  14. Dobyns 735c is a fantastic jig rod
  15. +1 for the Bite Me jig heads. I'm dragging tubes 90% of the time so it's 1/2&3/4oz for me with the coffee tubes.
  16. I couldn't narrow it down to one so I have two dedicated tube setups. Dobyns DX763sf/3000 Stradic FJ/#15PP-3/16-3/8oz goby heads/Strike King 3.5 Coffee Tube Dobyns DX764sf/3000 Stradic Ci4+/#15 PP-1/2-3/4oz goby heads/Strike King 3.5 Coffee Tube
  17. Looks like Big Rideau, or is it Newboro?
  18. 853 will also work very well, 3 power loomis rods are very very versatile.
  19. Couldn't agree more I went from a 16ft multi species aluminum to a 18ft glass boat and there couldn't be more of a difference. I drag a lot of tubes and with the aluminum I was getting blown all over the place. The glass boat sticks a lot better and drifts parallel with the wind.
  20. Dobyns DX743sf Stradic Ci4+ #10 PP 1/8oz Black Punisher Hair Jig.
  21. There are many factors on depth and speed and they all come down to where you want the spinnerbait to run in the water column. Weight, blade size and line size are all factors. Theres a reason I have 3/4oz-1oz+ spinnerbaits made with specific blade size to be fished on #20-25lb mono.
