  1. Yeah it does seem wierd the way they’re rated but it feels/bends more like a medium heavy to me. Thinking I’m going to out the elite reel on it. Feels the best to me .
  2. Thank a lot , yeah just looking for others opinions so thanks . Was seeing how they felt on each rod earlier like you said and that’s likely the best bet . I have heard the Elite is superior caster.
  3. Been going through all my gear and have a couple rods trying to figure out what which of the reels I have to combo them with. So figured I’d get some opinions. The Phenix is definitely more slim and lighter. Rods: -New Daiwa 7’4” bladed jig/spinner bait rod TTU741HRB-G This rod will be used for both bladed jig and spinner. It’s the x45 Galtech material - New to me Phenix 7’ X-10 crank series CB704 This rod I want for squarbill cranks and smaller crankbaits. This is the both graphite composite & glass. REELS: The 3 lower gear ratio reels I have that am trying to decide which one for which rod are. -New to me Daiwa Tatula elite 100h 6:3 (Heard this one is great for long casts) -New to me Daiwa Tatula 100h 6:3 - Old but love this reel Shimano Chronarch Mgl 6:1 Got plenty of other rods aim currently swapping around as well 😂
  4. Crickets... Not looking for spots just other options for boat rentals at different body of water.
  5. So I am in south Florida very often for work and have yet to ever get to go out on freshwater. I stay at my buddies place in Fort Lauderdale and was planning to find a place to rent a bass boat and take him out for his birthday at the end of march. Always wanted to fish Okeechobee and planned on renting a boat from Roland Martin Marina. Just got off the phone with them and you are not aloud on the lake with they're rentals due to safety because of the water level. So now I am wondering if there are any other options within 2 hours of Fort Lauderdale to rent a bass boat and have a good chance at catching some nice Florida bass. Something I have always wanted to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would love to get a guide but don't think I can afford it. Thanks in Advance.
  6. I am looking to get a fish finder but it needs to be portable since I don't have a boat. Usually I will be renting a boat when I use it. Any advice would be great. Thanks
  7. I am wondering if spruce run is open for boat rentals yet and if anyone has any info on how to get in touch with them? Thanks
  8. I live in Queens Ny so don't have anywhere to store a boat, there for I am hoping there may be people out there that would be interested in renting there boat to me randomly throughout the year. Most of the time I would be looking to rent it just for the day or half day but maybe occasionally for 2 days. I have a truck with a hitch and I am looking for someone in north Jersey, Hudson Valley, or Long Island. Thanks
  9. Ok Thanks, in that case I might prefer the 35 size as well.
  10. Thanks a lot The older models are better than the newer ones? What is the difference in size between the 30 and 35, are there any technical dimensions online to be found?
  11. Hey Jim3h I am actually in the same boat, I live in brooklyn and am trying to find a few closer places to fish than my Homeland Vermont and some other lakes I fish in New york that I fish like Lake Welch and Lake Sebago. Let me know how everything works out and where you end up trying and I'll do the same. Thanks for the help everyone
  12. After looking more into it and reading a lot of reviews I have been turned off on the shimano Symetre series, I sent the one I got back and am now in the market to buy another one tomorrow. I am thinking of going with the Pflueger Supreme XT but not sure what size to get, they come in 3 sizes for the gear ratio I want 6.2:1 I would appreciate any opinions/help making the decision. Here are the 3 options and I am veering towards the first two and probably the second one in red text. I don't want a super small reel like the shimano 1000 series but also don't want a large reel. 9230XT 145 yds / 6Lb 6.2:1 7.2 oz Left & Right Light Freshwater 9235XT 185 yds / 10Lb 6.2:1 8.6 oz Left & Right Medium Light Freshwater 9240XT 230 yds / 10Lb 6.2:1 9.3 oz Left & Right Medium Freshwater
  13. Is the 2500 series a larger reel physically? I just received the 1000 series and it seems a bit small. I did notice the 2500 series had a little faster retrieve (6.2:1) than the 1000 series (5.7:1) , do you think it makes much difference? You seem to like it right? I can send it back now before I use it so I figured I might as well be sure.
  14. Ok so I just ordered everything, my set up is going to be the St Croix Mojo 6" 10" medium lite / extra fast with the Shimano Symetre 5.6:1 ratio and then I ended up getting the Invizex alb test floro. I got a variation of hooks that were recommended and some robo worms to start out. I will keep you updated with what I prefer and how I like my new set up. Thanks again for everyones help
  15. I fish in clear water most the time but a lot of shallow water as well. Do you use a spinning reel with the trilene floro? If so how does the line handle on the reel? Thanks to everyone for the help
