  4. Thanks for all the help guys! I'm going to buy a couple different ones and try them all for my self to see what I like best. Thanks again
  5. What do you guys look for when trying new fluorocarbon line? I keep reading the The Trilene 100%, Sunline Super FC Sniper, Bass Pro Shops XPS, and the Seaguar lines are the top lines everyone keeps bringing up in the forums. What makes any one of these lines better over eachother? I'm mostly jig and heavy worm fishing.
  6. Thanks guys for the comments! i'm currently looking at these lines of Fluoro... not sure which to choose yet. any help narrowing it down? 1.Berkley Trilene 100% Fluoro 2.BPS 3.Seaguar Red Lable 4.Seaguar Abraz X 5.Seaguar Invis X 6.Sunline FC Sniper
  7. Hey guys, I'm thinking about making the switch over from Mono to Fluro. I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. I've never fished fluro line, but heard great things. Right now I'm currently fishing 6'9" MH Duckett with Shimano Curado 201G with Berkley Trilene XL Smooth Casting Mono line in 14lb test in Green. I do mostly Jig and worm fishing. Not sure about the pros and cons of fluro over mono and vise versa. But if I do switch over what is a good brand of fluro to use? And Is the diameter the same as mono and also in lbs for line test? What about color of line? I didnt want to buy any random fluro line you see at Dicks or Walmart. What do you guys recommend? Especially for jigging? Thanks in advance!
  8. Had a great time fishing that north star jig!!! Can't wait to go back! All I have in my box of jigs is all North Star. They are a huge hit everywhere I go fishing people are always asking me where to buy them. So I send them your way.. Thanks again!
  9. North Star Jig and Paca Chunk Trialer.... weather condition: Cloudy and raining on and off water condition: clear water about 1ft deep went fishing today with my buddie to a new lake with clear water and sand bottom with lots of vegetation. fished after work for 3 hrs with crankbaits, spinner baits, worms, frogs, and poppers. and nothing... so i switched to one of my new jigs i ordered from North Star that i had never thrown. it's the Flip and Swim Jig in Pumpkinseed color and 3/8oz. and for the trailer i put a NetBait Paca Chunk in Craw Fish Color. The weather was so crapy out! cloudy and gray with off and on rain showers. and on my first cast... felt Tap Tap and i set the hook and this bass had that whole jig in her mouth! she was 2lbs even on my field and stream spring scale. and in the next couple of casts this 1lb 4oz Bass hit next... small but still fun! and after about 9 more casts i went with a fast retrieve and hops and another bass slammed it! i was reeling her in and she surfaced twice! looked no smaller than 2lbs. the head was huge! but on the 2nd time she came out of the water she through my jig! i was so mad! worst feeling... sucks when you physicaly watch it happen right in front of you. so i fished all day and nothing, and i change to my jig and hook up 3 bass within 30mins. so much fun! Thank You North Star Baits! -Zildjian
  10. Koopers Frog Brand new 2nd cast on a low tree branch. Makes me sick thinking about it. I'm sure somebody just went out there and grabbed it.
  11. Thanks for the help! I have so many crank baits but I never throw them, because I never knew where, when and what color for what condition. Plus had zero confidence. But I want to learn now, because I actually caught one on a crank! What's everyone's favorite shallow diving crank and color? Also what's the deal with lipless cranks? I have a bunch red eye KVDs and others, but again never knew when and where to fish them. Open water? Everytime I tried to fish them off the banks here they just pick up grass and stuff on the trebels. I never fish anything other than worms, and now jigs. I want to expand and catch fish on other lures other than my go to lures. Thanks again to everyone for all your help!!!
  12. Lol that's because I wasn't sure what to throw or what color. When is the correct time to throw such a bright crank like that?
  13. Thank you guys! What about sandy bottom? Is theyre a lure that is exceeds in this condition with The clear water and vegetation in the deep? I'm not sure how the sandy bottom affects anything.
  14. hey guys, my buddy took me to a new lake today, and this lake had sand bottom and crystal clear water. i never seen anything like it before. he said it was a lake back in the day that when they use to dig they hit a natural spring water? im not sure what its called but its awesome. this lake had some really deep spots and it starts to get deep about 7' from the sandy shoreline and the deep areas also have great green vegetation underwater. so i wasn;t sure what to throw her at this lake with all sand bottom and with such clear water like this, so instead of throwing my go to worms, and jigs id figure here... a bright crank bait, spinner bait, or jerkbait would shine. so i throw this shallow diving squarebill. kvd? and i caught my first bass on a crankbait on the 2nd cast!!! small only 1lb 80z largemouth but still fun! my question i have is what lure should you throw in clear water and more importantly what color? i just took a guess with bright and it worked. well only for that bass, because i didn't catch another after that. i throw the crank bait from the shoreline into the deep and retrieved it back into the shallow, and he hit it mid crank in the deep. catching a bass on a new type of lure just opened a new door to lures for me lol but im still not sure what i did was correct or just a fluke catch because this lure is so far out from looking natural and it still caught me this bass. any help would be great! Thanks guys! -Zildjian
