  1. I wanted to start this thread to see what everyone does different to modify their stock jigs before they hit the water. I like to trim the weed guard on a slight downward angle and have the highest point when pressed down just at the barb of the hook. Then I'll grab the skirt just below the bow of the hook and take thinning shears and cut across 2-3 times. Makes it look spacey and flares the skirt out more, which allows my trailer to really be noticed and great action! What do you guys do to your stock jigs? Thanks, -Zildjian

  3. Thanks Glenn! but video seems to be gone?
  4. if i were to pick up a new power pole, which i'm considering the Pro Series Model in 8ft, but then again, i have no room for a third battery at all! is a third battery a must for this? or can i run it off one of my two batteries? Also, i don't want the power pole mounted directly to the boat, but i would like to buy the adapter plate they offer, but I'm not sure which one i need to buy for the perfect fit for my boat and power pole model or how one is better fit over the others. i want to have it on the starboard side of my boat. anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? thanks guys!
  5. hey guys, I was out on the water tonight, and i was checking out this flat while in gear, and i ended up hitting the flat with my propeller and my motor turned off while in gear. so stupid of me. after checking the propeller while the boat was on the trailer, i noticed only one blade on the prop was bent. what do you guys do in this situation? I'm not sure if there is any internal damage done. i ran it around for a while to make sure everything felt okay before putting her on the trailer. should i get the motor serviced? buy new prop or upgrade to a better prop? not sure if the propeller is under my warranty or not. this sucks! -Zildjian
  6. North Star Flip N Swim Jigs 1/2oz. With Netbait Paca Craw Trailer. I throw them At lay downs, out side of pads, and on flats. Ill Either hop them along the bottom or swim it back out. My favorite this season by far. Also caught my PB on a T-Rigged weightless Zoom Magnum Trick Worm at the beginning of this season.
  7. Just went to West Marine And picked up Marine Stabil and after talking to the guy, he said "honestly, I still get people coming back with problems when they have been using it." so he told me what he uses and in his opinion that works best for him is Star Brite Star Tron. And for storing in the winter, to use the "red" Stabil. So I picked up Star Tron for every fill up, and red Stabil for winter storage.
  8. Thank you guys so much! I was never told about having to use these products before, and I already filled up my 21gallon gas tank up 3 times with no additive during the entire summer.... Will that hurt it? If I buy the marine stabil or star tron now, can I put it in with gas I got 2 weeks ago or does it have to be fresh gas? Because I'll go top my tank Off with fresh gas today then add the additive. Is there a true difference in GoldEagle Marine StaBil vs StarBrite Marine Star Tron? Or do they both do the exact same thing? Can't seem to find out how one is better than the other. Also, I was reading about for "Long Term" storage to use the (Red) Stabil and for everyday use for fill ups use the "Marine" Stabil. Is this true? Thanks again everyone! -Zildjian
  9. Makes sense... So Marine Sta-bil at every full up. Do you put the sta-bil in after you fill you tank up full of gasoline or before? Also do you have to mix it yourself? or just pour and your ready to go? Also which stabilzer product of Star Tron do you guys use? I have a Mercury Optimax 90HP 2 stroke fuel injected motor, is this stuff safe for this type of motor? Just don't like the thought of putting things into my gas tank without knowing everything about it. I always thought you only use these products for just storing the boat, is it safe to use it every fill up? Or just once in awhile? Figured I'd ask the guys who actually use the product. Thanks -Zildjian
  10. So you guys use it each time you fill up? Like after you fill up you put the recommend amount of the stabilizer for how many gallons you have of gasoline each time?
  11. hey guys, i just bought my first boat, and i was in a middle of a conversation about how boater's gas tanks are cracking and leaking because of the amount of ethanol in gasoline caused corrosion from the moisture that builds up while sitting for weeks at a time that was never treated with a stabilizer product. and how a product like Sta-Bil is something i should use every time i fill up, but i thought you only use products like this when you store your boat for the winter season? I'm all new to this, and wasn't going to just start putting things like this in my gas tank, just because this is what people are telling me. i just wanted to see what you guys know about this and whats the best way to go about using products like this. do i use it during each fill up, or only during winter storage? thanks in advanced! -Zildjian
  12. Awesome info!! Thank you guys for all your comments and time to post in my thread!
  13. Hey guys, I rarely ever fish spinnerbaits, but I want to start fishing lures that I never fish. I know gold blade is good for overcast days, while silver is great on bright sunny days. Also between all the blades of Colorado gives off the most vibration, while Willow has a more shimmer to it, and resembles bait fish profile, and Indiana is more likely the best of both worlds. But I'm not sure which kind to pick up. I have collected lots of spinnerbaits when I first started fishing, but most of them are tiny. Just looking for some advice on what's been overall the most productive spinnerbait as in Color, Blade, Weight and Trailer? Because I'm thinking about making a nice order with North Star with their "hidden weight" spinnerbaits. But I want something that is overall productive when I can throw anytime. Thanks! -Zildjian
  14. north star flip n swim jigs colors: black and blue pumpkinseed
  15. yeah i didn't think they would. i did caulk the nipple around the head of the nipple and underneath. also did the same for tubing to the nipple. everything dried to a tight seal, so well see how that works. but for underneath the seats will suck when it rains! thanks for the comment, since im not the only one that this happened too. -zildjian
  16. yeah i knew it was too good to be true.... all my lures that i had in cases where soaked. looked like i turned my water hose on and sprayed away in my storage areas. inside all my cases was humidity built up. everything was just damp. i didn't want all my crank bait hooks and others to rust up, so i quickly took them all out and gave them a good wipe down. and i took all my other cases of lures i bring with me out of my boat and only leave some little stuff in there now. all my soft plactic baits looked water logged i guess from the humidity inside the storage after 2 days of collecting. i managed to save most of them, and i have A LOT! so now what do i do if my minor fix with the caulk wasn't this real issue and happens again? i have nothing to fix for the storage under my seats. if it rains again im screwed. so what iam i supposed to do now, not fish my boat in the rain?! i don't think so! but reallythis is crap! my real issue is that i don't want mildew and mold to grow on my things in the storage area and carpet! hate this.
  17. this is all the room i got, which is in the very back section directly underneath the motor. think this will be enough room for a PP Pump?
  18. and don't get me wrong, this was after a couple of days when the rain hit. and the spots that look dry under the seats arn't! they just arn't as soaked as the darker areas.
  19. yeah i don't understand it. i just used the wet vac on the inside of all the storage units and underneath my seats. so aggravated. after work for the past two days i've been opening them all up and letting them air dry. today i put this silicone transparent caulk around the drain hole fitting thats in my drain lip that goes around each storage door. so no water if any was going under the fitting and leaking out into my storage. i took some pictures today while working on this. then i went to the hardware store and picked up some little containers that collects water and prevents mildew and mold to grow, which i noticed on my wooden ore and on my plastic baggies. i couldn't believe all of this in a matter of 2 days. sucks because i couldn't let my boat air dry overnight from the rain because it never stopped! until the next day in the afternoon then started raining again after i got home from work. everything looks pretty good after today. except im not sure what to do when it rains again while im on the water. my seats don't have a rain drain lip around them and they got soaked under neath the seats! i 'll put the pics up in 2 mins...
  20. i don't have much room back there... do all the power poles series use the pump?
  21. hey guys, i just bought my first boat, which is a bass tracker 190 tx and i got caught in the rain for the first time out on the water. i didnt realize until the next day, but all my storage spaces were soaked on the inside! even the storage areas underneath my seats. the carpets are drenched. and for my big storage areas that have locks on them that hold my rods, and tackle have a lip around each door that has a drain if any rain water gets on deck, which i thought would be fine because thats what it's there for. come to find out the next day each deck storage and seat storage ares were soaked! i can't see how this is normal? has anyone ever had this problem? if so how do you fix it? i'm not even sure how the rain got in there. and its a brand new boat! lol just sucks... -zildjian
