  1. Thanks for the comments guys! I know for crankbait fishing glass rods are more ideal IMO. But what about spinnerbait rods? Glass or graphite?
  2. What Length, Action, and tip do you guys suggest for just purely spinnerbaits? I fish heavier spinnerbaits, 1/2oz and 3/4oz most of the time. I really need something that can handle 3/4oz and not feel like my rod is fighting it. Thinking... Duckett or Dobyns. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a Lews Tournament Pro Speed Spool 6.4:1 waiting to be paired up... Thanks guys.
  3. I love it for my deep diving crank setup!!! Buttery Smooth!
  4. I'm in Philadelphia as well, nothing but extreme wind and little bit on rain. thank god. i too wonder about the fish activity after all this...

  7. Francho I hate you lol nice fish buddy
  8. Every once in awhile I'll spray it. But not much
  9. Yeah I did try that and at least every other cast id get an overrun. And I would just get frustrated and turn the brakes all the way up and then no overrun but no distance.
  10. Yeah I'll change the line out to something lighter and you guys don't recommend Flouro. Whats the most recommend line and size lb for just jerkbait fishing? Thanks again guys!
  11. I'm throwing the Rapala X-Rap Deep 10, Lucky Craft Pointers, Staysee, KVD Wild Shinners
  12. Hey guys, I have absolutely no problem with baitcasters. I have them on all my rods, and love them. I only have one problem with only one type of lure. Its only casting a hard bodied jerkbait. I only use one combo for this setup. 6'6" Medium action Micro Guide Duckett with Quantum Smoke Reel with 15lb Bass Pro Shops 100% Flurocabon. And no matter how high I set my brakes and tension knob I get over runs. But if I tighten it to much to stop any overruns I can barely cast my lure 10ft. And this is only with hard bodied jerkbaits. Any tips?
  13. Thank you!!
  14. 10-24-12 Me and my buddy took off from work yesterday to go fishing, since the season is coming close to the end for us and it was going to be the best day out of the week. Weather Condition: Overcast during the morning, sunny during afternoon. Water Condition: light green tint to it. Water Temp: 61 degrees Wind: 2-5 MPH. Conditions were great! But fishing was extremely rough! I'm not sure why, dropped the boat in around 8am and fished non stop until 5pm. I only caught a half a pound white bass, 1lb largemouth and 2lb 9oz largemouth. My buddy hooked into a 3lb pike, but lost it at the boat. Very hard day fishing. We fish flats, docks, dropOffs, points, laydowns and shorelines with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, jerkbaits, spooks. Not sure why fishing was such a struggle yesterday...
  15. Thank you for your post! i just got some great information and figured out what is needed for my boat. with the Power Pole Sportsman 2 8ft model, which i'm not mounting directly to my transom. i'll need part number PK-M-2-3-S-BLK (2" Setback & 3" Rise) for Starboard Side Mount in between my motor and transom. i never understood what the Setback and Rise numbers meant, but my buddy Rich just explained it for me. The "setback" is needed to clear the mount from the transom, and the "rise" is needed so the pole does not drag water while you are up and running. thanks for the explanation Rich, this will help others like me better understand the setback and rise.
  16. is the Sportsman II 8ft Power Pole overkill for my boat too? or is it the same as the Original Sportsman 8ft? i can't tell the difference between the two besides the pump on the Sportsman II has a brushless motor, it comes in black, and is wireless. but is that it? i think the Sportsman II is also lighter than the original Sportsman.
  17. Thank You!! That's exactly what I wanted to hear before I made a purchase. Thank you! Last question lol Do you recommend just mounting the power pole to the back of the transom or buying the jackplate and having it installed? I feel weird having something between my transom and motor. But I guess they do it for a reason.. What's your take on this?
  18. Ohhh, so any power pole will fit my tracker, no matter which model I choose. Glenn, if I go with the 8ft Pro Series 2 model, is there anything else that I need to get this thing up and running out of the box? I'm going to buy the jackplate for it, and I guess I'll have my local marine shop install it for me. But I just wanted to make sure I don't need anything else. Especially another battery, because I can't fit a third in my compartment. Also, do you recommend any model or size? Or have any pros and cons I should know about on size or model before I make my purchase? I'm going to call them, and see which jackplate they recommend for 2010 Merc 90HP Optimax for Starboard Side. Thanks again Glenn!
  19. Ok I'm finally cracking down and buying a powerpole. Now I was reading a thread about the power pole being added to someone's boat, but they couldn't get the one they originally wanted because it was to big for the bass boat. How do you know if a model is to big to fit your bass boat? My boat is 18'7". Does that mean I can't put a 8ft power pole on it? Or a 10ft? It's between the sportsman 2 model in 8ft or Pro Series model in 6ft or 8ft. Plus i need to buy the jackplate for it. How do you know if a model is too big for your boat? The height or weight vs your boat? Any ideas??
