  1. Lol will do! I have a 2012 Bass Tracker Pro Team 190TX my console is setup weird for this unit, bug I'll find a spot for it.
  2. Thank you very much!!! Pics look great!
  3. hey, i just bought the 1198 unit and would love to see how your ram mount and unit are setup, you have any pics of your setup? also, how do you like the ram mount, and which mount did you go with? does it hold up well? i'm in the market for a mount right now, and would love any input. thanks!
  4. Is it safe to say the new 800 and 900 series units with LED Backlighting are now available? I just seen them advertised in the new Bass Pro Catalog.
  5. Thank you very much Wayne! Apreciate all your help -Zildjian
  6. thinking about going with the 998c SI Combo instead... as far as ram mounts for the 998 unit, same thing for 1198?
  7. Wow that is just awesome!! So you use the Ram-111U 1 1/2" ball model. Do you think I should go with that or the D model with the 2.25" ball? I feel that the D model looks extremely bulky.
  8. I just checked out both them ram D mounts, I def want the one that can handle the humminbird 1198 units the best, and yes I don't go out with my boat in harsh weather lol so I'm not really that concerned. But I just don't want to be readjusting my unit every two seconds either. For my boat and how my layout is, which one can you suggest that would be the best fit for me with your advice? I don't know if I'd like the Ram D-111-U-C with how short it is compared to the Ram D-111-U. Which I think in your picture, that's the mount you are running. How do you like it, and how has it been holding up? Would you of rather had the swing arm mount instead? Again I'm not fishing in crazy weather either, actually most of the time last year was all private lakes. But I still want something strong. Thanks Wayne!
  9. Awesome setup Wayne! I've been reading a lot of posts from people responding to a thread made about "Ram Mounts Moving" and primarily with the 1198 unit with the 2.25 ball mount. is the swing arm mount stronger? sucks because a lot of people were chiming in about no matter how tight they tighten them down, they still move... I just want a really strong mount that won't budge! I mean I'm not fishing in Heavy seas and winds, but I don't want to have to readjust my unit each time I get my boat on plane or actually fish in some rough stuff here and there. Any thoughts?
  10. i'm sorry i forgot i made this thread!! thank you so much for replying to me and with also pictures! this is great! here's a pic of my setup now... now, i'm still undecided on which ram mount to go with.... what would you go with in my case of my setup? thanks again!
  11. Hey guys, I'm looking to add this unit to my bass tracker, do you guys recommend a ram mount? If so how do I know which one would fit best for my boat. Thanks in advance!
  12. I have a 2011 Bass Tracker Pro Team 190TX. 16gallon livewell. I don't use the divider or bait bucket. And that gives me a ton of room! But for 10 bass, Noway. I had 4 in there at once and that seemed like a lot. But they were 2 x 3lbers and 2 x 2lbers. But 5 looks like my limit.
  13. 11-11-12 Went out today just for about three hours, completely struck out. Started out fishing a deep edge off a side of a massive flat with spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Nothing but a tiny perch hitting my crankbait as I lifted it from the water at the boat. Moved on to docks with a chatterbait and crankbait with no success. Then finished out the day targeting humps in about 25ft of water with a DD cranks and nothing. Rough day!
  14. Very nice! I just bought a Dobyns champion 704c. 7' heavy action Fast tip. Just came in the mail. Can't wait to use it. Thanks again to everyone for all your help for me to choose what I needed. -zildjian
  15. Ohhh yeah you're right. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
  16. Are the current 1100 series LED? While the 800 and 900 are going to be soon?
  17. Awesome, that's what I needed to hear!
  18. Oh I do! I bought the 15lber with the float, I'm not taking any chances! Lol
  19. After I made this thread I went out and bought a Boga Grip. Couldn't be any happier! Scary accurate to say the least.
  20. For my rod selection it's between the Dobyns Champion 7' MH 703c or 7' H 704c. This stinks! I don't know why I'm having such a hard time deciding between the two.
  21. 6.4:1 is what I've been using
  22. I don't want to use my crankbait rods for this setup since they're glass rods.
  23. Yeah Im on the edge of choosing a 7' Heavy fast tip Dobyns over a medium heavy. I have a lot of Dobyns rods, and just love them. I like the size of the 7' rod I have, It just sits in my forearm very comfortable for all day cranking. But my 7'3" dosen't fit my forearm as good if i were to use it for all day cranking. So I def want a 7' Dobyns for my spinnerbait rod. I'm not going to buy a duckket rod for this setup, but I love the micro magic guide line of duckkets. Just don't know how the dobyns medium heavy will handle the 3/4oz Spinnerbaits. I don't think the heavy fast would be overkill though.
  24. Awesome! I have a really good idea in what I'm looking for now. Really apreciate the posts guys! As far as line. Is 10lb Fluorocarbon good?
  25. Do you guys think a 7' or 7'3" heavy action with fast tip is good for 1/2oz and 3/4oz Spinnerbaits? Or should I do Medium/Heavy Action with Fast Tip? Just trying to figure out what would be more suitable for heavier spinnerbaits. As of now I'm throwing these spinnerbaits on my 6'9 Medium Heavy Duckett Micro Guide, and it can't handle 3/4oz well. Not sure if I should over power it with a Heavy Action rod or just get a longer Medium heavy action. Any thoughts?
