  1. I have a 1989 Johnson 70 HP two stroke. When I bought the boat earlier this year I replaced the 3 spark plugs with Champions. The boat seems to run fine because I've never had it run with the old plugs. After doing some reading I found out that the proper plug is NGK. Am I losing gas mileage, power, etc?
  2. This was during an elite series event also. You'd think people would be more cautious.
  3. Going by what the caption said. Regardless that was too close. Yeah we should all share the water, but why would you take a speeding boat towing a person on a board that close to a stationary bass fisherman. At our local lake those boarders stay several dozen yards away. This guy is way to close.
  4. The very last page of Bassmaster magazine is always "the parting shot" which is an interesting picture that usually has a nice caption covering two pages like a centerfold. This newest issue July/August shows a wake boarder almost showering Keith Combs with water. Guy comes so close to him and the camera got the shot right near him. He stayed cool and collective. What would you all have done?
  5. LOL with the gold/white , black/blue !!!!!! Just FYI that bass is a normal colored feisty dude. :-)
  6. Central NC. 103 today. Mid 90's all week. :-/
  7. Hello from Angier, NC! About 15 minutes south of Raleigh.
  8. Good deal sea salt!! I'll save the tarpon for the next episode of river monsters!!!!!!
  9. Thanks for the tips! The best thing I will go on is that my wife's co worker went on the same charter two weeks ago. Same 8 hour trip. She said her and her family caught so many fish in 8 hours they all took ibuprofen as soon as they hit the condo that night lol
  10. Today through Sunday I am doing the three day NC inshore fishing trip with my family. It is for Father's Day / my 12 year wedding anniversary vacation. We will be in the vicinity of blues, tarpon, mackerel, reds, drums, and even sharks! I'm pumped. So the guide said it is similar use of lures like bass fishing being that some waters are only a few feet deep. My two concerns are that I don't know how to hold these fish and I also don't know if I need to set the hook when they hit???? Also, we will be out for 8 hours on the boat. How many fish would we catch each theoretically this time of the year in coastal NC? Me, dad, brother-in-law and father-in-law. Air temps are high 80's and sunny skies the three days.
  11. Good point about life depending on it. :-)
  12. Both. Sting is from the toxin.
  13. Yea they can. The barbs on the pectoral fins are coated with a slimy toxin. Sometimes people get headaches and sometimes people get nausea and vomiting. Best to hold them like you would in the fashion of picking up a sandwich with two hands. Make sure the web of your hands are well behind the barbs.
  14. Oh I got some decent fish today but that one stands out the most LOL
  15. The rooster tail he struck was almost as big as he was lol
  16. A hot dog is nothing more than a specialized Senko for catfish.
  17. Chicken liver in a tied up piece of panty hoes. Yes. It is almost a guarantee.
  18. Will do FL basser! I just bought a new medium Spro frog special. ;-)
  19. I have a Spook on standby also my friend. :-)
