Can you make a limit of keepable fish only as LMB? Or can they be small mouth too? What about other species like catfish and gar for example. Just curious like if someone gets to weigh in with 3 LMB 1 SMB and a catfish. Would that count?

Friend and I had a contest at one of the local ponds for biggest bass a couple years back. Best meal of my life. You asked for competitive and that was a competition :-)
Yes the pros should be able to perform well in all cinductions, but why make it in February? It would be more interesting with even bigger fish caught more frequently and less frozen rod guides. I want to see the best of the best compete in the most likely conditions to catch bass. I don't think its necessary these last two years to have these freezing conditions. Just my .02.

I still think better weather time of the year would've been for w better showing. Yeah, pros are supposed to perform in all conditions, but let's make it worthwhile to see some huge fish caught a lot more.
Well, been bass fishing since 2011. Got my first bass boat last month. Want to start doing tournaments. Where do I start? I would rather not start out as a co angler. I'd really like to go with my own boat and start that way if possible. I want to ask also will people give me a hard time being that my boat is 90's model and not some new 100k ranger? I'm just starting. Boat looks new since I restored it. I love in central NC and not sure where to look. Thanks!

I am wondering if you guys are surprised at the standings from the 2015 Classic? I wonder why they don't move the classic to a different time of the year or the water temperatures are warmer than 37° to 44°? Perhaps that would make a difference? Or is it better to make the conditions even more difficult like this to really test the skill of the competitors? Some of the bigger name pros didn't even make it into the top 10. I wonder if the weather had any bearing on this???
Good call. I'm going to wheel the hose reel in the garage and that way it is not iced and can run water through it if need be. The guy was a boat mechanic and said it would be the water pump. He said he's seen cog fleas boats come in from people who cranked their boat to show off at the gas station and now had the 2 hour job to him. :-/
Here in NC we are under a HUGE freeze and I am still working on tuning the boat in the garage. The Johnson 70 is a 2 stroke and coming along well. Question is the earmuffs are pretty much un-usable now because of the freeze. Can i crank it just for like 5-10 seconds without any kind of water flow? A guy told me it takes about 30 seconds to get into issues that way. Also, does the water serve as a cooling agent only? Or does it help to lubricate anything on the boat?
My trim doesn't work on my boat. It is locked in the most neutral spot I can get it to. The boat takes off and slows down fine with no excessive water getting anywhere into the boat. Question is, if I am at WOT or at cruising speed for about 1-3 minutes the front of the boat goes from a raised position to slowly lowering down to where the boat seems like it is flat as a table. Is this planing? Is this normal? Remember I just started boating a week or so ago.
