  1. We left around 2, and three of us were in an older stratos fish and sky. Grey/Blue with a 90 evinrude.
  2. Sheesh, congrats on the awesome catches at miami. I wish we could've got into some like that, and i'm sure we would've if we could've slowed down. The wind just prevented us from throwing anything than fast moving baits. Looks like I'm gonna have to get out there again if you pulled 4 pounders, and a 6 out of there!
  3. Went to Miami state fishing lake today, and wacked the crap out of em. It was hard fishing in the wind, but still had a really great day. Oh, finally got the skunk out of the boat too! Most of the fish were dinks, but they sure were active. Would've been nice to run into that six pounder mentioned earlier. At any rate, here was the nicest fish of the day that I caught.
  4. Chris, what were the water temperatures like? I expect them to spike with this gorgeous weather we're having.
  5. I stopped into these forums mostly because I saw you guys have a great section on the midwest. I post on another forum quite regularly, but may post in here from time to time too. Site looks great and I can tell you guys have a lot of great information to share. Thanks for that! Anyhow, Blake is my name and I'm from Kansas city. I love to fish for those green fish, but who doesn't in here?
  6. Things are heating up around my neck of the woods. There were a bunch of minnows schooling up in balls at the pond I was fishing today, which keyed me onto a spinnerbait. Caught this fat mama just on the outside of one of these mini schools.
  7. Depends on what you call shallows. The deepest parts of the lake were really hard to key on because of the wind. I fished anything from 5-20 feet of water. There was a steep drop off which I would assume would be the old creek that would've went under old metcalf that had a lot of fish showing up on my electronics, but I just couldn't keep my boat positioned there because of the wind.
  8. Hey folks. I'm new to the forums, and decided to join up mostly because of the central section right here. I'm already a member of some other forums, but I just might stick around to mine for more information. Seems like a nice place. At any rate, I went out to louisburg middle creek yesterday. I couldn't buy a bite. There were guys catching crappie left and right, but no bass to be found. I fished chunk rock, riprap dam, main lake points with standing timber, submerged roadbed, shallows with timber, shallow water adjacent to deeper water, etc. etc. etc. Fished football and arkie style jigs, and lipless cranks. I would have thrown a jerkbait around the dam, but it was too windy to hold my boat in position. It was also too windy to make any true finesse fishing possible. Anyhow, I wasn't the only one with limited success. All the other folks I chatted with that were on the hunt for those little green guys reported no bites for them as well. Perhaps it was the high pressure. Perhaps that lake just sucks. Anyhow, I'm hoping to hit miami county, or la cygne next week. Not going to louisburg middle creek any time soon, that's for sure.
