  1. Ah yes, us mid westerners like us the ned rig. Had the opportunity to fish with Ned. Talk about a walking encyclopedia of bass knowledge. Good guy, good technique.
  2. Pretty similar pattern clayton, except they were off the docks further this time around. Anywhere from 20-50 ft off the front of the docks. It was a lot of fun. On a side note, I smoked a few big trout on a jerkbait out there earlier this year. That was fun.
  3. He's lived there about a year and it has taken us some time to figure it out. The dock bite is pretty good in the summer. There's a lot of brush piles residents have planted but we've only found a couple. Thankfully he's putting some decent electronics on his boat. There's also a ton of shad (big shad at that) and there are always fish schooling under the bait balls. It's a fun lake but fishes differently compared to a lot of lakes around here. Fish rarely get on the banks. Ledges and points seem to be the thing and it's quite a bit of fun consistently catching fish in water deeper than 3 feet :). Here's the big fish my buddy pulled up. My scale isn't functioning so didn't get a weight, but she was 5 anyway.
  4. The truck is now up and running. Long story there... Should be back on the water with my boat soon. Thankfully I have a buddy who lives on lake waukomis and have been fishing it a lot. We absolutely tore them up yesterday dragging jigs in 6-12 fow. Probably caught 20 fish a piece, he brought in a 5.
  5. Well, it’s been a minute since I’ve caught everyone up here. Last year was a pretty interesting year for me writing. I had anywhere from 1-3 articles roll out in bass quest every issue, and had a four month long “column” run on world fishing network for various fishing tips. This year is already shaping up to be quite crazy. Bass quest is bumping up their issues from 4 to 6 a year, and rolling out a couple of exclusive online only issues as well. I’m guaranteed an article for each, but it will most likely be two. I’ve also got a contract with world fishing network to submit a weekly short article on bass fishing. This should be ongoing from march through December. Lastly, I was credentialed media at the bassmaster classic. I ended up getting to ride with Keith combs on day one. Before you ask "how was it!? What'd you learn", I'll have a piece rolling out shortly on world fishing network about it. Did the media thing on Thursday. Worked the expo Saturday and Sunday and caught the weigh in’s. I met tons of great people, made plenty of connections, shook hands with pro’s I worked with, and even learned a few things about slippin’ from our very own Big O. It’s been a wild ride. Wilder still is the fact that I’m making money doing all of this. The dream is real folks. I’m not fishing for a living, but I’ve got it pretty good. Maybe this thing can become a full time deal after all. Get after your dreams. You might be surprised what happens.
  6. Any guesses? Makes it better that I don't know how to rotate it from my phone
  7. Don't tell anyone, but I think I have 13 open bottles in my cabinet now. May have a problem. Good news is I'm only having a couple of drinks a week. Bad news is, my wallet and wife dislike me.
  8. They still work... Shhhhh.
  9. Betcha Curt can scrounge up some flathead. If Drum are requested, I could go to perry this weekend.
  10. Pretty sure there needs to be a bass resource, fried crappie, catfish, walleye, and morel party sometime this spring... with beer. Sounds delicious, but may need to make sure there's a restroom near by too.
  11. The collection grows. Even got a hold of a white whale bottle...
  12. Still in new jersey boys. How's kansas city? Hold down the fort for me...
  13. I've seen this bottle around. I may have to give it a shot! Picked up a bottle of knob creek last night to add the the collection for 25 dollars. Probably the sweetest bourbon I've got on my counter. This isn't a bad thing. I like it, but it wouldnt be my first bottle to buy if I could only pick one.
  14. So, last night my buddy and I got together to sample each others whiskey collection. Prior to bringing my bottles at his house, I picked up Evan Williams Single barrel. All in all, tried some jefferson reserve, elmer t lee, and popped open the evan williams. The Elmer T lee was FANTASTIC. Will be looking for a bottle if I can find it "cheap" somewhere. The evan williams is great for the price point. Hard to beat a 9 year single barrel bourbon for 25 bucks, that actually tastes good. The Jefferson reserve was surprisingly thin. Don't think I'll be searching that one out.
  15. Bigfoot Ghosts.
