  1. They change those reels it seems like twice a year. The one I had, you had to press the shiny basspro logo on the sideplate in and twist the sideplate before it would pull off.
  2. SK Elaztec to float. Zoom finesse produce more for me, float or not.
  3. It was spend $200 last time I think..? I bought an Avid and a Mojo and qualified. Still a good deal though.
  4. I think Basspro is 22Feb-10Mar. Does anyone know about Cabelas?
  5. Haha, what a great post. I can't wait to try out my.. Daiwa Zillion DVT supertuned Curado 51 LC pointer 78's (Ebay 2 for $20) LC Sammy 100
  6. X3 on PQ/Carbonlite. I have nicer combos, but this one can do it all. 7'MHF or MF would work for soft stickbaits.
  7. False. Bicycle gears are.. um... gears. Handle length would be more like the length of the pedals. (IPT remains unchanged) but the amount of effort required to achieve that speed is much less. So to many, the CF handle "feels" faster. This^^ makes sense, this is torque. T=F*R. The longer handle® torques the axis more, causing less effort(F) to turn the handle. BUT, the longer handle slows the rate at which you can turn the reel down, effectively slowing the reel down. Think of it like inches your hand moves per1 full rotation of the handle. The longer the handle, the more inches your hand has to travel. When you work it out, you have to turn your hand 502mm with the stock handle, and 590mm with the longer handle. When it all gets down to it though, ~90mm isn't going to slow you down that much at all, and the advantages of the greater torque on the central axis probably overcomes the slight increase in distance.
  8. Interesting. It seems to me like the longer the handle, the greater the distance my hand has to travel to get one rotation in. Would say, a 20' handle speed up my retrieve?
  9. You say they help with more speed? Are they shorter than the factory handle?
  10. 30# Braid with leader on mine, but I use it for pretty much everything
  11. I agree with what's been said so far. They like things that flash, and seem to eat anything shiny if you rip it by fast enough. Good luck!
  12. 6'9 MLXF Legend Tournament, 2500 President, 6# YZH baby ball head jigs, shaky heads, drop shot, weightless trick worms 7'MM Carbonlite, Lews Tournament MG in the 5.x ratio, 10# YZH Traps, KVD 1.5s, topwater 7'MHF Avid, Curado 51, 12# YZH Jigs, Texas rigged plastics, Carolina rigs, Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, Spooks, Senkos I'd do without deep cranks and wouldn't have a devoted skipping setup(big spin combo), but I think i'd do fine with only three.
  13. Chill. I hope I get some broken ones..
  14. Looks good, I guess I can put it on backwards and it will fit in between the hook and my bait?
  15. I love the hook keepers on some of my bass pro shops rods that allow you to hang up your hook without having to unhook it from the soft plastic. Do any of you know of a sort of aftermarket product that I could attach to say, an Avid, that would work? I thought about making one, but don't want it to look ghetto...
  16. Do you guys change the trebles on the Spook Jr's? My hit-hookup ratio isn't that great...(stock hooks)
  17. 150 on ebay, Curado 51E
  18. Super Fluke in arkansas shiner or a standard green pumpkin shaky head worm. Fishing the salad up here, it's usually the fluke
  19. Legend Tourney 6'9 mlxf pflueger president 2500 Owner shakey heads zoom trick, finesse, and roboworm straight tails. 6lb hybrid I used to use a MH casting outfit, and it worked well, but wouldn't cast them as far as this setup does.
  20. Trick worm. weightless or shakeyhead
  21. I think the new S is going to look awesome on the Veritas. I might have to pick one up..
  22. How often do you go? It could be that they are moving onto a different type of forage as the seasons progress, so they won't hit what they aren't eating. Or they are communicating with each other, in which case you need to find a new pond..
  23. I'm not sure why... Your rig's going to sink, I guarantee it. Braid or flouro. I don't think the fish that eats a swimbait hanging off that bicycle wheel cares whether or not you have invisible line. 65 or even 80lb braid are going to cast better. It might be just me, but if I'm throwing a $25+ lure, I want all the security i can get, and 80>25. Just MHO, don't take my word for it, there's no harm in trying it..
