  1. The new Deep diving suspending Shadow Rap really works, I watched a Ike tutorial on how this works. lake temps was 46-48 so bass were still in the transition phase ridges leading to shallows. I caught 7 smallmouth with this bait at any rocky ridge line 15-10 ft the cadence was a twitch every 30-45 seconds so it was very slow fishing. the rest were on a Arashi squarebills . small black jig with a strike king craw. Once the wind kicked up the bite stopped for me but 13 total works for me on the first day out on the lake with the boat.
  2. From the album: Asst fishing photos

    Swains lake NH
  3. Currently on swains second cast a smallmouth on the new deep diving shadow rap currently a bakers dozen banging rocks and such with square bill slowly
  4. if your just using the fish finder use a motor cycle battery no need to get a regular size battery plenty of videos on youtube to help you.
  5. Out early and starting to put a keel guard on my boat should be fun with my back in the mud for a couple hours. Hoping people will be able to fish this weekend.
  6. Just watched a video my buddy (dennis), of him and his friend using his ranger as a Ice breaker through 2-3 inches of ice to get where they needed to fish. I'm not that crazy yet. I believe it could be Pow Wow it was filmed.
  7. Thinking of doing Jenness pond Sat, anyone know how the ice is doing there? the last i heard it was moving out at a fast pace.
  8. I am thinking I should cull some of these rods but they all have a use. Boat out of hibernation and next off to the car wash to clean the carpets.
  9. No gas motors only hand held boats and such there is only a dirt path ramp with a dirt parking lot off the road. the city of Portsmouth owns the whole watershed for their drinking water. beyond that it is a excellent water way for fishing essentially a flooded river so lot of flats to fish. there have been many bass in the 8lb range caught there. I used to fish it with my canoe about 15 years ago but haven't been to it since.
  10. Drove to Swains and Bellamy reservoir they are both opening up and the ice is starting to grey and slush up not long now with the temps perking upwards now.
  11. Hearing from a friend Pine Island has opened up.
  12. My memory of that lake fishing (smallmouth heaven) will be at least 20 years old but one thing that has not changed will be the rocks get a good map many a prop have been ruined its like a winni in miniature. back then gitzits were my friend.
  13. I don' know if any of you look at google maps in satellite view but they have recently changes the photo's of the lakes to ice free pictures so now you can see creek channels and hidden rock points better on most of our lakes. I have found some hidden gems already on a few I have fished.
  14. This may interest people who are fishing the Maine Bass Trail and the Northeast Bassmasters opens, I talked to Wayne Hooper yesterday and if the ice does not thaw out on Mousam in time for the open he will ask the state to swap permits to have Arrowhead trail tournament fished on April 19th and Mousam open on April 26 I will keep you all posted.
  15. Anybody out here use fish brain on their phone? a buddy of mine told me about it but it's beginning to look like it knows where you are so secret spots aren't so secret anymore. I to am looking for open water I am tired of spending money on stuff that won't touch water for a while.
  16. From NYbass. com Sandy: "As of 3/14 the Northern Bass store in NH is closed and everything(except me) moved to CT. If you go the http://www.northernbass.com you will see on the front page that we are open for phone and internet orders only. I am going to stay on with the new company so you can still call me with your order or place it on line. Once again I would like to thank all our customers for their support over the last 30 years and I look forward to the New NBS web site that will have all your fishing products on the east coast and still have the same great customer service! I will also continue with the NBS tournaments in 2015. See you on the water when it gets warm because I might have time to fish!!!!"
  17. Yes there have been rumors to that effect, The last time I went in they were half the size and talking wiith Sandy they were getting hit hard with internet ordering and Bass Pro up the road.
  18. Mostly odd color worms swim baits craws and such about 4 yrs worth, most have been sweat(water) damaged I don't have the best filing system. Now instead of those plastic tray holders I am keeping them in the original bags.
  19. Been looking at all the live web cams on Winni the shores are opening up now finally. I have finally reach my boat and now charging my batteries up, next up cleaning all the compartments and throwing away about a 100lbs of plastic baits I will never used that I have collected over the years.
  20. Yes they are un-official for sure. Lunkers on Mousam can be from 2-5 lbs I won it with a 4 1/2 smallie or a large just under 2 lbs. mousam is not known for big fish but it starting to have slabs for crappie I have been told. I might do Moose and Keezar opens. if I really want to spend money I might try Sandy's northern bass supply weekend tournament on Sebago this Sept I keep hearing good things about it. (forgot to add just heard mousam has 30 inches of ice still as of yesterday but the shores are opening up.)
  21. Mousam is a good lake won a lot of money from lunker tournaments on it, but the bass turn off easily on it. You can win that lake with just smallmouth. I will be doing a couple Open tournaments this year instead of the trail to let me have more time to fish for relaxation.
  22. Close with the Hooper's and they are concerned with Mousam also. Arrowhead will be interesting being the first lake of the trial, but it does ice out early being shallow. No trail fishing for me this year.
  23. I am hearing estimates of 1-2 weeks past last years ice outs for the deeper lakes in NH
