  1. Got off the pond around 2 after putting a dozen smallies into the boat. average size was 2lbs with the biggest at 3.8lbs I thought it was going to be a great start hitting a smallie on the second cast with a shadow rap stick bait but then it got hard 20 ft deep with watermelon with red speck spider grubs on a football head or a black with blue tube bait till the bite died around 1. The weather was almost to perfect with no breeze on a crystal clear pond.
  2. Hitting Rust again lets hope for some slobs today
  3. What started out as a perfect fishing morning turned into a hard day of fishing but still not disapointed at the quality of the fish in Rust Pond in Wolfeboro, NH We worked onthe idea with it being foggy and water at 65 that top water would work, when that didnt happen turned to crank baits and rattle traps then we started shore fishing after a couple hours scratching out heads we went deep 25-30 ft hitting the bottom with jigs either a green pumpkin spider jig or a black/blue 1/2 oz jig with a rage craw bama or green pumpkin. out of 14 caught in the boat the smallest was a 2.8 SM. What made this exciting was fighting a fish in deep water sometimes 50 yards away then watching them jump at a distance. Biggest for me was a 5lb LG and a 4lb SM if you don't mind launching a small boat or canoe so close to rt28 right next to the ramp then this is a nice quiet pond to fish. I haven't viewed it yet but I have some gopro footage that hopefully came out.
  4. I have personally never been there going with some friends They say there is a dirt carry in ramp off of rt28
  5. Hitting rust pond in Wolfeboro Tuesday heard there are some very large smallies there.
  6. Congrats MilfordNHBasser and good luck on the future tourneys,That's a good reason I keep suggesting Lees Mills area to fish. It has it's own eco system that feels like a small lake but has many advantages of Winni itself. The rockiness and shallow areas make it hard for sport boaters to ruin your day. Lees is also able to produce bass in the 7-8lb sizes (my father 7.4) while smallies can be found in the 4lb sizes (4.6 for me). The channel between Badger and Goodwin has always produced many memorable moments. The rock hazards in Greens can always produce. Again good luck with the school tourneys.
  7. I haven't heard any bite reports. Lees area and adjoining western coves is very good in the mornings for largemouth, Winter Harbour for smallmouth during the day. structure shallows 3-8 ft with crankbaits is the name of the game fish are migrating but thats my theory. If fishing after Oct 1st remember certain streams and bays are off limits on winni. http://www.eregulations.com/newhampshire/fishing/freshwater/lakes-ponds-with-special-rules/ scroll to Winni.
  8. If guides don't work out, head to Lee's Mill area on Winni great fishing for both lg and sm but it's a very controllable environment.
  9. They say 1 - 2 years They are repairing the stone dam so more damage they find the longer it will take. It's one of the few original stone dams left in the state.
  10. Well, good news I don't have to sell my boat for a new truck engine the bad new's nobody want's to put in a truck engine around my city. Glad people are slaying some nice fish now. Still looking here for some hog's posted.
  11. Nice pattern on that smallie.
  12. I should have also said it is on kancamangus right next to Bear Notch rd.
  13. I have done some of the National forests one's on and off the road. The best is Jigger Johnsons right next to Bear Notch rd. The swift river is right behind it.
  14. A- Rigs aren't legal in my state but a snag is a snag.
  15. 04 Tracker Avalanche with a xr6 150 Merc Killer combo for big lakes.
  16. The last time I fished it was 4 yrs. They were hanging (smallmouth) on ledges at 15-20 it dont hurt to cast under those docks. I just remember nailing them with rattletraps, tubes and jigs. If you get there early enough hit the shores. the traffic on the lake will dictate where you can fish.for some reasons people like to use those big boy boats on that lake. I also got my biggest smallmouth on the lake leading up to the sandy point. I have never done any of the rivers.
  17. Smallmouth are fantastic watch out for the sand bar and the lake will be heavily used on weekends. Loon + Pot island has always worked for me and also Sandy point might bring in some also. last time I was there I was able to order pizza to the sand bar for lunch.
  18. http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/maps/boatfish/map.html this has it
  19. I am hearing Meddums will be drawn down for dam repairs on the order of 21 feet. fished some small ponds in Maine with some friends they are trying to get me to cross over into the dark side (kayak) stlye fishing I'm just at a loss choosing 2 rods out of the 15 my boat holds.
  20. Well, it's sad to do this but the necessity of a replacing a motor on my truck out ways the toys. I will be selling my bass boat if anyone is interested it's 18 ft 2 inch long 96 inches wide, dual console 2004 Tracker Avalanche with a 2004 xr6 150 on the back the trailer is only 4 yrs old 101lb 36vt trolling motor spare props for both motors also includes 2 lowrance lcx-17m finders. 3 bank auto charger for the trolling motor batteries this is a tournament ready rig. if anyone knows about the Avalanche it is .125 thick (bullet proof) aluminum but you can not tell it from a glass boat. top speed around 60 when empty but able to cruise over 50mph loaded also has the best rear deck of any boat I have fished, this is a boat that can handle Winni! $9,000 can seal the deal I can go lower but wont deal with low ballers. private message me to make a time to view this. I still have the manuals for both boat and motor.
  21. Bigger baits bigger bass in the deep rock pockets or inlets. examples, I usually switch to a big 7 inch senko a 8inch swimbait or the large berkley chiggar craws on a 3/8 jig to give it a big fat presentation crawling the rocks. summertime big fishing is regulated morning till 10 or 6 till dawn. Think of big bass as lions they don't go out in the heat they stay in the shade and they wait for a big meal that requires little energy expenditure. But that just my theory that works for me.
  22. L.L.Cote pretty much is the town. Nothing like getting a subway sandwich doing your grocery shopping looking at snow machines and then contemplate what revolver I want while holding a stuffed moose for my wife.
