  1. Good point NashuaNev I was a ardent hater of this law when it start phasing in 5 yrs ago 5 yrs has passed more then enough time for my tackle box to be clean of it. Remember lead also effects ducks & goose that are bottom feeders but are not endangered like the Loon. hawks, eagles and many more animals that eat fish/aquatic birds that might have lead fish weight in them, Death usually happens from a total system shock within one week of ingestion. I was a non believer till I went to a seminar and was shown xrays after xrays of dead wild life with hook weights in them. Remember when you get a licence it's a privilege not a right.
  2. Its for one ounce and under June 1st no matter if its on a hook or powdered coated. Spinner baits and bladed baits from what I read are ok to use.
  3. Don't know what your looking for but I bought some tube and round jig heads from this site. I don't need tungsten for some of my set ups but the tube jigs and round heads look decent from what I got. The only down side is when powder coating you have to keep it under 250 degrees bismuth melts at 280. http://www.leadfreejigheads.com/gpage2.html Other then this I have been doing the eBay purchases and some close out colors jigs on tackle warehouse and just making my the skirt color I want. Walmart near me put the 1/4 and 3/8 tungsten worm weights on the reduce rack for $5 for pack of 3 so I bought a bunch there.
  4. "Ice in" finally happened on Winni but I wouldn't trust the thickness near any of the "broad" areas. The derby is 27-28 so it will be interesting how much of a area the ice will be thick enough to even walk on. I won't be able to make it this year.
  5. OK thought they were still open after the deal went through but with new owners.
  6. I do tournaments but on the Maine circuit. If you ever make it up to NH go to Northern Bass Supply in Brentwood they know most of the clubs and Sandy is still doing her tournaments.
  7. Hope everyone is taking it safe on the ice been hearing to many news reports of people going in the water. On the home front just picked up a elite 5hdi and a elite 7hdi for my boat. cant wait to use them and to make my own depth maps from it.
  8. Just put in my order for some lead free tube jig heads from leadfreejigheads .com other then my jigs and worm weights its all I need for weighted hooks.
  9. I feel for you, I volunteered for the Army many moons ago and my hearing prevented me from going on. Glad to hear you will still be busy.
  10. You can use lead jig heads they must be 11/2 inches on the longest axis and you cant sell them in NH so if you have those small crappie jigs then your out of luck but with normal size bass jigs your fine. I have been lead free for the past 2 yrs I just got rid of anything the game wardens would question. The law went into a 2 yr phase full affect this year so you can bet they will do spot inspections when they do a safety check on your boat like they normally do.
  11. Current state law prohibits the use of lead sinkers and jigs in all fresh water in New Hampshire, including lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. The ban prohibits the use of lead sinkers weighing 1 ounce or less and lead jigs less than 1 inch long along their longest axis. The law also prohibits the sale in New Hampshire of lead sinkers weighing 1 ounce or less and lead jigs less than 1 inch long along their longest axis. Basically if its less then one inch and or your questioning it, be safe get rid of it.
  12. Anybody looking to spend their Cabelas cards Cabelas on their web site has a lowrance elite 5 hdi with gps for only 249 I just pick one up cant wait to use it.
  13. My friend Cilley has been out on the lakes slaying the smallmouth including this past Sunday. The ice is finally creeping here now so open water will soon close up but wont be safe for some time.
  14. My buddies are showing pictures on their facebook pages catching well over 2 dozen smallies on Winni today. Wish I was with them. Looks like old man winter will be here Tuesday.
  15. Anyone else getting confused with the new layout here?
  16. I am hearing Swains is still hovering around 45 for water temps wish I could get a boat out.
  17. Two buddies of mine took their john boat out and caught several lm over 3lbs plus some of the biggest pickerel of the year on North River Pond Weds.
  18. Never fished it this late but slow will be the name of the game.
  19. Most of the day we were in 25 to 30 ft of water throwing them onto rocks and structure in 7-15ft of water slowly dragging and hopping over the rocky bottoms, colors were a black jig head with either a pumpkin green or a black with blue flake chiggar craws for the extra bulk. I tried silver buddies around the deeper rock piles but no luck. Purple chatter baits with a copper blade with a fat keitech fat impact shad worked well also when the breeze picked up and the clouds came in.
  20. Did Bunganut today with my friend Ed. We caught over 2 dozen LM and a single smallmouth, The bite was a jig bite and a couple on chatter bait biggest was just over 4lbs my friend Ed caught but the average size fish was over 2lbs. Bunganut has no public access but Ed was lucky enough to have friends that allowed us to put the small boat from their yard on the pond. Ed has told me that 6 7 8 are not that uncommon on the pond but we couldn't get them to bite. The pond was also being drained for the winter this week so it could have affected the bite. Brought my Gopro along and got some cool under water shots today.
  21. From the album: Asst fishing photos

  22. will to try my luck with a blade baits tomorrow. Going to fish Bunganut Pond in the morning.
