  1. Going to Basspro shops in Foxboro Sat what's the one lure I should get for cold water bass fishing.
  2. Anyone hear of any lakes opening up on the south eastern part of the state? Going to check my little local lake (Swains) Weds
  3. Good news Winni is reporting that the water temp is 40 at the 2ft mark Ice will be out very shortly.
  4. If its like anything like its neighbor GreatEast then bass will be picky eaters
  5. This is a great state to bass fish for sure. It's hard to beat Winni.
  6. As a former club president here are some tips. Have a round table discussion with future club members on what goals you want, ie tournament style fishing or just a bunch of people together for a good time. Some states (Maine) you have to get lake permits to hold tournaments. Are you going to be affiliated with the like of B.A.S.S or A.B.A for tournament trails. Non profit status with your state. As a earlier person answered "RULES" and stick with them. Believe it or not make a name that is not trade marked. It all sounds like a big headaches but proper planning will save you further down the road.
  7. Well a sad day. The realization the fishing season is over for me. Now it's time to winterize the boat. According to my diary the boat has caught and released just under 340 bass this season and the largest at just under 7 lbs. It was a great year of fishing from lakes like Cobbosseecontee Lake Maine to Exeter, NH reservoir with many family and friends and the hope for a better one next year. Wish I could fish more but the Insurance company would not like me. Now to wait for the ice and it will be smelt season soon enough.
  8. Did Winnipesaukee Sat but not a good day with the long front that went through and stalled on the lake plus the NH TOC fishing it at the same time. Lots of rainbow's chasing my lures but the season is closed for them, Season is over for me time to winterize the boat before a surprise freeze comes and kills the outboard.
  9. Looks like the final week of fishing for me before winterizing the boat. Now the hard part choosing what lakes to fish.
  10. Did Greateast Sat, water tem @73 there. With the mist we got in the morning only the smallmouth were biting. Always great catching fish while tournament people are trying with no luck catching them and I am throwing the bass back into the water in front of them after they fished the same spot
  11. Will be fishing till at least the middle of Oct myself.
  12. NIce day out on the lake at Swains (any time on the water is great) Water running around 73 degrees, A couple of smallies along with some 3lb lg mouths made it nice. Getting my time in on this lake before they drain it for the winter. Now to get ready for some Maine lake fishing for the weekend.
  13. As a bass fisherman, B.A.S.S state regional finalist, former club vice president including tournament director in Maine I can also feel the pain the modern bass fisherman goes through with the smaller lakes and ponds now limiting access to the sportsman. Nine times out of ten it will be the sportsman who offers help when needed, The sportsman is also sensitive to the prevention of invasive species to lakes and protection of the game fish species. It all boils down to education to show the many positives a sportsman offers. Dialog always goes a long way.
  14. Is it to early to start thinking about the weekend? Winni and Merrymeeting sounds good to me.

From the album: Asst fishing photos

    Greateast lake NH
  16. Hope this works one bad boy from Greateast lake NH It is a border lake with Maine near Wakefield NH, It has a really nice ramp able to handle plenty of boats. It is well marked showing all the rocky areas, If you know how to get to Poor Peoples Pub then its not to far from there. If you ever want to try it let me know.
  17. Did Greateast Lake the other day, I find this lake under rated at times even by me, if there was a definition of a hot or cold lake this is it. Caught 14 bass both lg and sm including 5 around one island. I have been fishing this lake for well over 35 yrs and I am still finding some surprises. Including a new smallmouth area.
  18. Fishing has been great at Swains both LM and SM, I have never done Mendoms because everyone says I can get my boat in there only carry in or small boats. I'm able to get about 2 dzn each outing at swains but never anything over 4lbs. In fact when I teach people how to bass fish I take them to Swains first before I take them to any of the bigger lakes.
  19. Hi all first time in a couple months writing on here. Been doing Swains a lot near me.. Any lakes in the southeastern part of the state I can fish with a 18ft boat? Been doing tourneys in Maine and just have the bug to fish locally lately. I have done Baxter, Milton 3 ponds and Greateast of course everyone fav, Winni.
  20. Did some Maine fishing this weekend, Mousam and Little Ossipee if the fish were the same I caught all mine right on the shores edge's under the shadow of any bushes. skipped a wacky rigged worm weightless right under them.
  21. I am thinking of fishing Lake Massabesic for the first time what do I need to know about the lake other then the no fishing zone and 30 mph speed limit. is there a boat size? I cant find anything for boat rules. I will be using my tracker avalanche, Thanks Bob
  22. Did Swains yesterday caught several including a nice largemouth at 6lb's but she looked like a deflated beach ball.
  23. Awesome day on Winni bass are making beds on the northern part, caught the majority of them right on the shore line under the brushes. Also caught a nice 5 lb lmb though some baby lilli pads.
  24. Great day fishing today found some beds caught most of my lmb right on the shore the bass are hungry.
  25. Bummer about the cell, fishing Lee-Mills Sunday towards greens basin hoping the bass will be hungry by then. Last year caught a laker near Sandy island on a tube lol.
