  1. Swains is usually my first choice to run the big motor on it's small so if something happens I can use my trolling motor to get back to the ramp, I know a couple drop offs that stage bass when the water hits the 50's
  2. Well, work transferred me closer to home. Now I can bring my boat to work and go straight to fishing when I get out at 1 in the afternoons It's killing me having to wait and hearing about you guys fishing already.
  3. When I was a tournament director for my bass club we had to go to Lewiston ME to do the lake pics for our tournaments there was a anti hunting/fishing group there. I asked them if a deer or a child were on the road in front of you which one were you going to hit with your car they would not answer me!
  4. Been fishing with Wayne and his son for almost 20 yrs Will be interesting how their Mousam and Moose Opens will fair with the ice. I retired tournament fishing but Wayne keeps trying to drag me back in lol.
  5. Just bought my Maine weed sticker so I am ready for two states to fish soon This wind is perfect for melting ice.
  6. Is the river passable for boats? I remember many years ago (20) going through it with my bass boat and a couple spots I had to raise my motor to sneak through.
  7. Welcome to the NH thread, If you haven't already feel free to read the whole tread you just might get a few chuckles. This is a fun group and never be afraid to ask anything you'll get a answer from someone here.
  8. If you still want to fish Winni I would strongly suggest to get a Bizer map
  9. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp You can look on the web here. if you want even better readings click the sounder on the bottom left of the page.
  10. Two of my rods are always rigged for senkos or stick worms wacky rigged or texas rigged.
  11. Had this for 4 yrs now. Tracker doesn't make them anymore because they are so expensive to make its .125 thickness what they called bullet proof aluminum. they made it using hydro pressing same way they make planes. mine is a 2004 with a xr6 150. when empty i can hit over 60 mph in it. she is a very stable boat able to go through anything Winni gives out, Awesome storage in it as you can see a dozen rods and still room for more. I have had people tell me no way its a aluminum boat till I show them where a couple weld marks are.I got a good deal for this at Dover Marine even came with a 36vt 101 lb thrust trolling motor and two lowrance w/gps units. But at the moment going no where till ice out someplace.
  12. I have a Tracker Avalanche she's all aluminum
  13. I would not trust any lakes for a couple weeks even if you don't visibly see the ice. You might not see the ice but it could be sunken under a couple inches of water and smash your boat up good. At least my boat is out of hibernation
  14. at 9:0.1 your talking 6 ft of line in less then a second using normal turning @ 2 revolutions a second or so.
  15. I was figuring a pure pitching rod set up using it, There's no way you could get a usable cadence for anything else.
  16. Has anyone seen the new revo rocket reel? it's a 9.0:1 gear and pulls in 37 inches of line per crank.
  17. Google ram mounts you can see all the different styles I have one for my front fish finder its a movable stick type mount.
  18. A ram style mount with a c clamp attachment to put stuff on your canoe.
  19. Unwrapping my boat out of it's cocoon today. Then to a self serve car wash and give everything a good spray wash. Feeling like spring is nearer.
  20. Keep your dreams big NEjitterbugger. When I was younger I qualified as a non-boater to fish the regional federation fish off for B.A.S.S for a spot on the Classic. our state(Maine) finished 4th I contributed 2 bass for weight on what was considered the toughest fishing they ever had on the CT river (up to 10 inches of rain fell the week before) add to it being tidal and striped bass it was interesting. One week of fishing with the best 12 other states had and the fact everything was paid for made it memorable. I retired tournament fishing when my son was born but I still cherish my patch and memories. So remember the sky is the limit!

    Still proud of this.
  22. I went by Swains today, Still a lot of ice out there. The last time a local drilled they said there was 18 inches so at least two weeks for that lake.
  23. Remember if you have a bob-house on any NH water it must be removed by midnight April 1st!
  24. Reels all cleaned and lubed on this rainy day, even did my new lew's I just got in the mail yesterday. This rain will help on the smaller ponds to warm them up.
