I havent fished in a week from the ice but its gonna be 60 tomm so ill be out there. Dont know how the guys in the real cold areas do it, ice fishing wouldnt hold me over till spring. Thank God we've had pretty mild winters for the past few years....
I love the 10/2 power pro, but ill give the seaguar a shot next time im at dicks. The seaguar is 8/2, 10/3, 15/4, ill have to figure out what size to try...
I also agree the stradic fj is probally the best spinning reel ive owned for the money. I have a sustain as well and to be honest i think i like my stradic better, lol
I handled the 6'10 spinning rod at a fishing flea market today. They were selling them for $55 new. I really had to restrain myself from buying one, really nice rod for that money.
Might pick one up in the future for just for a beater rod....
I use my champion 682, which is for sale BTW, and it covers all those techniques great. Id step up to a 3 power if your throwing anything heavier though...
I gotta get back to fishing senkos. Also, when i was a kid the only plastics i fished were curly tail 7-1/2 worms texas rigged, i cant remember the last time i fished one...
Seems like the only plastics i fish anymore are dropshot or shakeyhead....
Thinks for the info bob, i just went over to dicks to check out the new sahara and symetre. I thought they might of went to a direct drive handle for the symetre this year, which they didnt. so that reel is out. Im in the market for a 1000, so it might just be another stradic fj...
I use gami swivel shot hooks, size 2. Sometimes straight 6lb flouro, other times 10lb power pro with flouro leader. My favorite baits are 4-1/2 in roboworms, keitech live impact worms, and my new favorite, the vagabond airbait slimworm...
I picked up a few kopper frogs when they were on the tw christmas sale for $5. They all have lake fork trailer hooks as well, cant wait for some topwater action
