  1. Thanks, maybe i have it backwards. Might be schedule 20 i need. Whichever one is the thinner wall pvc. I got one before from dobyns, real light and strong.
  2. Anyone know where you can buy these with endcaps for shipping rods ? Ive checked out home depot with no luck. I have 4 or 5 high end rods i need to ship out soon and dont want to take chances with cardboard tubes. I shipped out a brand new powell max in a cardboard tube through fedex and it came back on my doorstep in 3 pieces. Filed a claim and they blamed it on me, lol. Last time i use cardboard tubes and fedex. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  3. Buzzbaits and ribbits
  4. Sure, I'd be interested to know if they would ship down here. Thanks
  5. I would definitely go ci4+. Its lighter, stronger, and over $100 dollars cheaper.
  6. Could you give me the name of the shop that has that cumulus, thanks
  7. I got rid of the fj only because its a heavier reel. Let the ci4 go cause it doesn't have x-ship. For the guys that primarily use baitcasters its not a big deal. I pretty much use spinners for the most part so I want the best I can get.
  8. Yep, I don't mind taking a little bit of a loss for a new reel. Its worth it, great reel for the money.
  9. Was very excited when i heard about this reel coming out. A lighter, stronger ci4 with x-ship ? Sign me up !! Ordered it from TW and the waiting period was too long, found out ALF had them in stock and put my order in. Came home from work thursday and saw it sitting on the doorstep. Was ready to spool it up but i was leaving for a surf fishing trip and had to patiently wait till sunday to try it out. Spooled it up with 10lb power pro, and mounted it on a 6'8 cumara m/h rod. Started off with a small koppers frog then switched to a 1/4oz buzzbait and hooked up with a 2lb+ bass last night. Drag is very smooth, 7lbs on the 1000 model. Reel is extremely light at 5.8oz's. X-ship is super smooth, dont think i could go back to the shimanos without it. Ive said it a few times now, but if i closed my eyes i feel like im fishing with my sustain fg. Thats a $330 reel so your really getting alot of value with the new ci4+. I was so excited to try this reel i sold my practially brand new stradic fj and ci4 to get this and it was completely worth it. I prefer the smaller round ci4 knobs, so i put one on with some zpi bearings and its an absolute treat to fish with. I highly recommend the new ci4+
  10. Knobs are easily interchangeable on shimano spinning reels, no reason to not fish one.... To the op, cant go wrong with either one. Ive owned every shimano spinner besides the stella and can tell you that the ci4 and sustain are the best bang for your buck. As kicker said, id recommend the new ci4+, feels identical to my sustain and its $100 cheaper.
  11. I typically use a spinning rod for shakeyheads but here and there ill use a baitcaster. I have a 6'8 m x-fast cumara that works great. i was throwing 1/8 oz shakyheads and hooksets were great.
  12. Im going with this for rods, would like to try a megabass as well. For reels, id like to try a zonda, conquest dc, metanium, and other jdm shimano reels. For spinners ive had my eye on a stella for a while now, some jdm daiwas, presso/exist/certate.
  13. I should add i had both and would go with the curado as well....
  14. Can't go wrong with either one.
  15. Theres no reason why you cant use a 50 series reel for that. Alot of guys use 50 series shimanos and daiwa px-r reels for frogs and pitching. I had a 201e7 and just didnt like the size, got rid of that and stick with my core 51.
  16. Yea, i like the looks of the first gen better. But the new one is a bit lighter and i actually like the reel seat better. Not sure about the micros yet though. Does look really nice with the new ci4+ on there though, lol. I have two first gen casting, the 6'8 m & 6'8 m x-fast. Then two 6'8 spinning. A 1st gen 6'8 m, and 2nd gen 6'8 mh. If i pick up the new chronarch then ill have 4 combos to play with and might sell off all my other rods.... Just scared if i let my cumulus rods go that ill be able to find the models i want in the future....
  17. I go 6 & 6. Never had a break.
  18. My first ultra light outfit i bought was a shimano sedona 500 and st croix triumph rod. That was about $130 if i remember correctly. Was actually alot of fun to fish with.
  19. Only thing holding me back from the orochi is the cork, im an eva fan. Two rods ive been looking forever for is the 6'10 mh cumulus casting and 6'10 ml cumulus spinning rod. These two are almost impossible to find anymore. If i got those two id probally sell off some of my shimanos im not using. I have two 6'5 cumulus rods, and my 6'3 cumara and elite tech smallie rod. These guys have been sitting on the rack. All ive used this season so far have been my 4 6'8 cumaras. I love these rods.
  20. Im pretty loyal to shimano for rods & reels. I've tried other companies but shimano always seems to work the best for me. I have considered trying megabass rods in the future. I'm a little open to other baitcasters, specifically daiwa, but for spinners only shimano. From the stradic to the Stella, there the best reels made.
  21. What Dwight said, that's a huge weight difference. I'd look at the PX type r if your interested in daiwas. More of a comparable reel to the core.
  22. Sammy 85 ms aurora shad Favorite bait of all time...
  23. First thing I noticed is how solid the rapid drag is. Very smooth with the x-ship. Only 5.8oz's. Really feels like a lighter version of my sustain fg...
  24. My 1000 ci4+ was on the doorstep when i got home from work today. Pretty sweet reel, feels exactly like my sustain fg, just a 1/2 oz lighter. Mounted on a 6'5 cumulus. Going to the shore to surf fish for the weekend, wont have a review till sunday night/monday...
  25. I only use shimano rods. I like the action, there light, splitgrip, clicking handle, and eva. If another company built a rod just like shimanos i wouldnt hesitate to try it.
