  1. I'm an Eva fan.
  2. Definitely shimano for spinning gear. Lighter budget, get a stradic fj, have more to spend....get a ci4+. Can't go wrong with either. Daiwas cost too much although fuegos aren't bad if you can find one cheap on eBay. There not as smooth as stradics though. Don't waste your time with quantum's. And pfluegers are nice for the money, I've considered the supreme xt or patriarch a few times... My sustain and ci4+ take care of business so I don't see any purchases anytime soon unless there's a smoking deal on a Stella...
  3. Im using 10lb braid with 6lb flouroclear leader.
  4. I prefer shimano and daiwas. Ive used abu and lews. Actually giving lews another shot, just ordered the new lews bb1 pro. Looks to be a pretty sweet reel. I would fish abu mgx's, gen2 premiers, and rockets all day long. I just prefer smaller reels, and shimano's 50 size just sits in my palm so well.
  5. Only lews I've owned is a lews tourney pro. Yesterday I stopped at dicks and tried out a bb1. Really sweet reel and very smooth. I've been wanting to add another baitcaster to the line up and definitely considering one.
  6. Maico, that is sweet
  7. Rods are hard to hide, i get them shipped to my parents house sometimes, lol. Reels are easy though, she always thinks its just lures so im good
  8. My local tackle shop had the rocket. Pretty sweet reel. Im not an abu fan but really liked it.
  9. 10lb braid, i use 6 and 8lb flouro leaders.
  10. i do really well with the double uni knot. Ive tied the alberto and its definitely a slimmer knot, but i have more trouble with that knot for some reason. I can tie a double uni quickly, and it passes through the micro guides on my cumara with no problems at all.
  11. I always use TW, they offer the fastest shipping at the cheapest price. I used amercian legacy fishing though because they were the only place that had the 1000 size. They had free shipping and it came quickly.
  12. I sold my mint used 51e for $165, so thats a great price for being new...
  13. I use 10lb power pro, slick8, and suffix performance on my spinning reels. Right now i have 20lb suffix performance on my core and loving it. Probally gonna stick with the suffix performance, i like that most and its cheap.
  14. 6'8 mh 2nd gen cumara with a ci4+1000f. That's my cheapest and do it all combo.
  15. I use regular pp, slick 8, and suffix performance. I'm slowly fading everything out and considering buying bulk spools of the performance braid. Really like that stuff. Regular pp is fine though, and super slick is a little pricey.
  16. Topwater, lipless cranks, and the flickshake Love throwing sammies and buzzbaits. Also love to throw 1/4oz lipless cranks. Favorite finesse fishing is throwing jackall flickshakes and dropshot.
  17. My most expensive combo retail is my cumulus/core combo. $770 retail. Throw in a $100 zpi cf handle and $30 bocas and were at $900. 8.2oz's, very sensitive, and a pleasure to fish with.
  18. Sammies, buzzbaits, jerkbaits, and lipless cranks.
  19. Just made them identical, spaced them about 3ft apart.
  20. I made this rack very cheap and easily. Got some wood from home depot and a dowel, drill and space your holes out and glue the rods in. Screw up on the wall and your done.
  21. Another vote for Shimano, and ill go a step further and say there reels as well. I strictly use cumaras and cumulus rods and absolutely love them. I wouldnt hesitate to fish a lower level shimano from a compre to a crucial either...
  22. Get your hands on a new ci4+, sustain fg, or stradic fj. You wont be using that old daiwa anymore.... Having owned all three reels, i really think the ci4+ is the sweet spot and worth every penny.
  23. My best pickerel at 4.8lbs. Caught on a jackall flickshake on 6lb flouro, little guy was pulling my kayak around the lake I fish a private quarry quite often thats just filled with pig size pike. Definitely fun to catch when the bass arent biting. I have lost some expensive baits, but its worth it. Love the fight a nice 2lb+ pickerel puts up...
  24. I havent stepped into the swimbait world yet, but when i do i wont hesitate to buy quality baits. The most ive spent for lures now have been in the $25-30 range. Pretty much megabass and a few deps buzzjets.... I find most of my lures are in the 10-15 dollar range. I have favorites, like luckycraft sammies, megabass pop x's, that i will pay full price for because there worth every penny. Also, i spend more on topwater baits cause 99% of the time im not going to lose them with braid. When it comes to cranks or jerkbaits i tend to stay a bit cheaper. I have some rapalas and yozuris that work great. But like someone else said, i shop around, look for sales and used tackle online. Love finding me some used sammies at a great price. Replace the hooks and your ready to go.
