  1. Forgot to mention its paired with a 6'8 medium cumara. This will be my small crankin combo this year...
  2. My Conquest 51 came in today, has some battle scars but its in alright condition. Put on an 80mm zpi cf handle, zpi knob bearings, and zpi gold nut. Did a thorough cleaning and added hedgehog air bearings. Very smooth, and casts further then my bfs xg....
  3. My finesse machine, bfs xg, hedgehog air bearings, zpi offset bfc handle, zpi knobs/bearings. Still pretty shocked how fast ems shipping is from japan. That handle came in two days
  4. Love my cumulus/Aldebaran, and cumara/ stella combos. I think the only thing left I want is another conquest, and to try an evergreen and megabass rod.
  5. Love my cumulus/Aldebaran, and cumara/ stella combos. I think the only thing left I want is another conquest, and to try an evergreen and megabass rod.
  6. I use the 6'3 spinning model for jerkbaits & topwater. I would think the 6'3 casting model would be great as well.
  7. Fishing on Atari, lol. I liked jimmy Houston's game on super Nintendo. Last game I played was Sega fishing on Dreamcast, pretty good game.
  8. Pretty much, little lighter and smaller. Being aluminum with bearings installed makes it feel real smooth.
  9. Interesting, ive never used a dc reel, makes me curious about picking up a 51dc on the bay, theres plenty of them on there at decent prices...
  10. Just curious, what do you use more, the regular 50's or the dc model's ?
  11. This is one of the threads that made me an addict This is my lineup for the year until i find another conquest 51... aldebaran bfs/cumulus aldebaran mg/cumara core 51/ cumara alphas ito/ cumulus stella 1000fe/ cumara ci4+ 1000/ cumulus I have a 7'1 cumulus coming in tomm
  12. Finally got an ito, pretty decent condition. Just threw some zpi knobs on it until i figure where im going with this reel. Its the lonely daiwa in this collection of shimanos, lol.
  13. Sounds good. I might pull the trigger on one soon.
  14. I'd also like to hear some info on these rods, I was considering the 7 foot medium heavy model.
  15. I use 20lb for cranking and 30lb for frogs. My shallow spool reels have 10lb. There is no digging in or other problems when you spool it nice and tight.
  16. Sell pre-owned cars. Hoping for a career change soon...
  17. You guys are killing me !! Really regretting selling my 51 shallow special.... 51's are sold out on Japan tackle, none on eBay or rakuten... The 51's have dried up
  18. Might have to get a 101 to feed my addiction until 2015 for the 51
  19. 10-30lb braid for each application...
  20. Nice, that bfs/DX combo will be sweet. I'm diggin my bfs/cumulus combo, whole setup weighs 7.7oz's, For handles I really like zpi. Depends on the length you like, I prefer 80-85mm. I think the stock ch50 handle is 80mm. You have plenty of options with hawgtech, hedgehog studios, and japan tackle. When it comes to lightweight spools, they are worth the money if you want to cast light weight baits or want a pitching machine.
  21. Thanks kicker, I thought I finally had it all down to shimano and went ahead and picked up an alphas ito yesterday, lol. I had a purple alphas and type f last year, might go all out on this one and do a clicker drag, PX handle, and other daiwa goodies...
  22. Was getting a bit stir crazy with all this snow... Found a local spot with open water and tested out the Stella and bfs xg with new hedgehog air bearings. Stella is a dream to fish with, put that away and started playing with the Aldebaran. Was throwing 1/8-1/4oz wakebaits and small cranks. Not sure if the bearings are any better than Boca orange seals. Was getting about the same distance so I'll probally stick with the bocas. Anyway its 28 degrees out and started to snow so I headed home. Felt good to get a little action in though
  23. The reason why I got rid of my chronarch ci4, the 50's palm so much better...
  24. Completely agree, theres enough variety between shimano & daiwa
