  1. That's how I felt yesterday working on mine :-). So nice isn't it?
  2. Soft plastics are indeed very dangerous... When I'm fishing tournaments and need to do a quick change, I typically throw the used one on the deck of my boat which might lead to a stain on my carpet. Very bad. Oh and then there's always the danger of going in to buy one pack, and leaving with 5 or 6. Extremely dangerous...
  3. Anyone have any info on which NH water bodies (other than rivers) ice out sooner than others? I live up in the lakes region so we're still a few weeks away I imagine, but I'm scheduled to pick up the boat this Friday and just wonder if anyone knows of any that may see ice out over the next week or two...
  4. Funny u should say that. After enduring one of the worst winters I've ever seen, my retirement plan is to spend January thru April living in and fishing Florida. Just the thought of reaching down to lip a bass knowing what's in there... Ok, time for a change of underwear just thinkin about it lol.
  5. So I checked out the live blog from the Seminole Elite Series event, and the blogger mentioned that there were several 10 to 11 foot gators nearby where Shaw Grisby was fishing. Being from New Hampshire, I have never even seen a gator, let alone could I possibly fathom fishing with several nearby lol. So I have to ask you Southern guys a question... What is that like to fish gator infested waters?
  6. Struggled. First time to Sebago for us, no time to pre fish, and the pressure on the lake was insane. Had 60 boats in our tourney, plus the Northeast Regional for the Federation Nation series guys out there pre fishing for their tournament, and the pleasure boaters getting in their last hoorahs for the season. We still had a great time though, as it was a weekend away for the wife and I. The resort was great, food was great, and the experience was great. Now if we could just catch more fish next time :-P
  7. Did Sebago with NBS last yr, possibly this yr...
  8. What features are important to you? If I had $500, I'd probably opt for the Elite 5 HDI. http://www.basspro.com/Lowrance-Elite5-HDI-Fishfinder/Chartplotter-Combo-83/200-kHz-and-455/800-kHz/product/1306130856/
  9. Didn't realize there's 4 goin out that day. We were thinking about fishing that NBS Smallmouth tourney. Wonder if it will even be iced out by then lol...
  10. Extremely fortunate to have my wife as my fishing partner. Even on slow days I need only one glance back to remind me I can't catch anything better ;-)
  11. All great recomendations by all for sure. Tube, C-Rig, and dropshot are a few more to consider.
  12. Anyone fish this hook and experience hook up ratio problems? I absolutely love fishing tubes, and love owner hooks. I came across the phantoms so decided to give em a shot. Last weekend, I must have missed about 10 fish using these, and the one I managed to bring in was barely grabbing skin inside his mouth. I'm using the 4/0 hook with 3 1/2" SK Coffee tubes, "stupid" rigged. Thanks...
  13. Just bought hds7 for the bow, along with a TMB-S bracket for the trolling motor. I am wondering how well this bracket works, as there is no star, or grooved washer to hold the skimmer in place, as there is on the transom bracket and kit that Lowrance provides...
  14. Nice to hear Winni is comin around! Whereabouts were you?
  15. Think I may have already said that, so sorry for repost... No new members huh? Check lrbc.ucoz.com. Small club that fishes all over, and great group of friendly people. Not sure if their lakes will work for you, but worth a look... Fished with them last yr, but unfortunately dont think I will be able to this yr as they do draw format, and we do team format.
  16. Where are u lookin to fish? Google "nh fish and game tournaments", and you will find the schedule of all tourneys for all clubs, and contact info. From there, it is just a matter of finding clubs to fish ur area...
  17. Watermelon/any flake stickbaits and chartreuse spinnerbaits.
  18. x2 minus the carp... I know they work, as I've seen and heard of the success stories, but I have yet to catch a single fish on a jig. I will keep throwin them tho, as I am sure it is my technique that is the issue.
  19. Wasn't unbearable, but was enough to knock us off our spots before even gettin the trolling motor down. We are gonna give it another go ourselves this weekend, hoping to see a break in the weather pattern we seem to be stuck in. Water temps between 40-45, same as they've been since ice out...
  20. The big girl hasn't been too kind last cpl times out. Between Saturday, and today, threw everything but the kitchen sink at them.. Baby paca jig, c-rig, silver buddy, drop shot roboworm, xrap, dt hula shakeyhead, spinnerbait, not even a bite! Had one Chase the paca jig to the boat, but that's as close as we came. Did ok the first time out a cpl wks ago, but it has been dead since. Only solace to take out of the last cpl trips is the new electronics experience, which will undoubtedly pay off when the bite picks back up...
  21. Took mine out today. The settings worked great! Top notch Todd!!!
