  1. How are you opening the eye to attach the blade?
  2. There is some other stuff on sale as well, including Loomis and Daiwa.
  3. The spirex has a lot of back play, which will keep me from buying more. I recommend trying them out in a store if you can.
  4. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=360686952110 Poor man's zillion.
  5. Yes, it applies to rods. They will send the rod in a tube and the other stuff in a box.
  6. Hmmmmmm...

    Grump!

Keep those post coming Hootie because they usually make me laugh. I enjoy your sense of humor, however some people interpret things the wrong way.
  8. No Problem. It will catch some big ones as well. I've caught a few 4-5 pounders on them. You could aslo try a 5-6 inch senko style bait, it may weed out a few of those dinks.
  9. I would try fishing a weightless zoom super fluke in green pumpkin or watermelon seed. Fish it slow. It will come through just about anything without getting fouled.
  10. Buy the special pliers or don't mess with the bearing. I tried to do it with needle nose and marred the spool shaft. I had to get a replacement spool to make my reel fishable again. Luckily, lews gave me a spool for free, but it would have cost $40 if they didn't charge me.
  11. The only problem I've had with my megastrike scent was losing it . I had almost forgot about it, but now I will have to search for it when I get home.
  12. I recently damaged the spool on my tournament speed spool (trying to remove the bearing on the spool shaft) and was in need of a replacement. I tried calling lews but their phones were busy, so on my way back to school I stopped by their headquarters in Springfield, Mo. I asked them how much a spool would cost and was told it would be $40. Then, the girl at the front desk had a reel tech come and look my reel. I showed him the spool and told him how I damaged it. He told me that he didn't think it was the spool and he would go take a look at it. He came back about 10 minutes later and gave me my reel with a new spool. My reel then felt good as new. I thanked him and he started walking off. I stopped him and asked how much I owed them and he told me nothing. Thank you lews for the excellent customer service, especially since I am currently strapped for cash.
  13. Take your hand off the reel handle during pauses. Helps me slow down.
  14. I also like the zoom super fluke.
  15. Wow!!!
  16. WileyX makes some sunglasses with a removable facial cavity seal and I think it would help reduce fogging. I tried a few pairs on at the classic and really liked them. I will probablly buy a pair when I have the funds.
  17. I bought a death shimmer at the classic but I haven't used it yet. The guy who makes them said it was like a mix between a chatterbait and spinnerbait. The arm design creates more surface area therefore supposedly causing more resistance and vibration. It looks to have good components so you might as well by one and give it a try.
  18. You guys should look up Bill Dance bloopers on youtube. Very entertaining.
  19. @MCS you're probablly right about that. Next time I go through Springfield I'll take a closer look at the Megabass lures.
  20. The BPS in Springfeild, Mo had 110's, knuckle 60's, popmax, xpods, and quite a few others.
  21. ww2farmer, You need to be nicer with you comments.
  22. Has anyone tried a small diameter braid on spinning gear and a leader for trout fishing and how did it work? I have always used 2 lb or 4 lb mono for small rivers and streams. I was wondering about using braid to eliminate the ocassional line twist. However, I don't want to spook fish, reduce casting distance, or inhibit action of jigs/ lures I throw.
  23. Bps sells a carbonlite/ pro qualifier combo for 150. Both rod and reel have good reviews.
  24. If this is your first baitcasting setup I would get trilene big game (its monofilament) in 12lb test. Its cheap and a decent line. You can also find it at many places like BPS and walmart.
  25. You will be getting the best deal if you buy the team lews since it is a $300 reel. I suggest reading reviews on the reels, like on *** and tackle tour, then deciding for yourself. I have a curado e and a lews tournament and like them both. The lews is smoother but the curado e wins in castability. However, you probably can't go wrong buying any of the reels you mentioned.
