  1. I believe this is the key, great post JFrancho. It is not associated simply with the lures we use, but how our actions impact the fish and the surrounding environment.
  2. I don't buy it. If this were the case, I would never catch a fish on a black jitterbug, or a white spinnerbait. Mike
  3. Zona is a trip and seems genuine to me. Mike
  4. I don't understand how this is happening to you. When you put the line on the reel did you lay the spool on it's side like you would if it was a spinning reel? Mike
  5. Mo' definitely I do this. Heck, I do this with mono too. Mike
  6. Better be careful before you go on a random "muskrat extermination spree". They are a furbearer and may fall under game laws. You may not be allowed to just kill them like flies. Mike
  7. I have a hard time fishing the 1/8 size with baitcasting gear. I wade and usually only have one rod. I have switched to the 3/16 size. They seem more like "real" baits in almost the same 1/8 size, but easier to fish. Mike
  8. I wouldn't use fc, it sinks and might deaden the action. I have never had a problem with straight mono on spooks. Mike
  9. I bought two packs of 6.5" at that price. Mike
  10. I am not saying this board is not a good source of information, but why not just call Ranger and know you got the right answer? Mike
  11. Greetings from Western PA. Mike
  12. The Next KVD, I am glad someone else said that mono and FC stretch about the same. Everyone thinks that FC is almost like braid. the benefit to FC is it sinks faster, if that is what is needed. Mike
  13. A bass is a cold-blooded creature therefore the surrounding temps affect the biological processes of the fish. Basically this means that the fish digests slower and does not need to eat as much when the water is cold. When the water is in the high 70's and low 80's the fish will need to eat more to maintain body mass because the fish's metabolism is moving faster. With this in mind, I think people mix this up by saying bass want fast moving baits when it is hot. It does not necessarily mean this. If you equate a slow moving lure as food, the bass only needs to eat the lure once per day when the water is in the 40's, but will have to eat the lure maybe five times when the water is in the 80's. I do not think it dictates whether a bass will prefer a faster or slower lure, only how many times it will have to eat a slow or fast moving lure during the day. Mike
  14. Just about everything under 3/4 oz. Mike
  15. The Emotion XT at 36" wide is rated for 325 lbs, The Ride 115 at 33" wide is rated for 500 lbs. Just sayin'. The seat is 8 lbs. I just fished in that seat on a test ride and it is very comfortable. Mike
  16. Another vote for BPS Excel. Mike
  17. Ocean Kayak Prowler Big Game (PBG) si 12'9" and 34" wide. Wilderness Systems Ride 115 is 11'6" and 33" wide, wonder why they don't call it a Ride 116???? Mike
  18. A heavy buzzbait is easier to work fast. The weight acts like a keel. I use dark buzzbaits at night, evenings, and low-light situations, but I don't know if it really makes a difference. With any bait, I don't want the fish to really see the bait only the representation of something edible. I never use a trailer, but plenty of others do, that is personal preference. Mike
  19. 1. 5" Senko knockoff 2. Pop-R 3. Chart/White 1/4 oz spinnerbait Mike
  20. Diggy, Good point, I can see that side of it. LMG, I knew you'd come through!! I have to agree. Mike
  21. LMG, Don't Sellus rods work best with a Shimano reel attached? Mike
  22. Why does a rod company have to tell you what to use for a given technique? Use the rod you feel comfortable using. Of course, I like to know the power and action and line recommendations, but I'll decide what I use for jigs or worms or flukes, etc. I'm not trying to be negative just saying to fish with what you feel comfortable fishing. Mike
  23. A double cowgirl and 80# braid will fix this. : )
  24. moguy1973, not trying to steal J's thunder but it is an OK PBG. That is an awesome pic. Mike
