  1. J, I may have to rethink Santee-Cooper...... I just went to Black's Camp website and got a look at the gator being displayed between two people I think if I'm going to be on a lake, I want to be the one on TOP of the food chain !!! OMG, that thing is BIG!! Cheers, E
  2. Sounds like Bass Paradise Actually, I've been looking at Santee-Cooper and the State Park on the Internet, and on Google Earth. I've found a web page that show where they placed fish attractors. Took me a while to realize that I was looking down on a Cyprus swamp though. I'm think'n bout running away from home and gett'n me one of those water front homes parked out in the swamp Cheers, E
  3. I'd like to try the James with you some day if your up for it.
  4. What's the best Large Mouth Bass lake in South Carolina, and why?? I'm thinking of running away from home for some warm fishing. I like to stay at state Parks that have cabins. Point me to someplace. Cheers, E
  5. Thanks Sean; I too use the spinnerbait as my weapon of choice, it can go deep or shallow, slow or fast, or anything in between. I make my own. Have you ever heard of Spoonplugging, or ever done it?? It's something new to me and I'm going to give it a first try soon. Cheers, Eric
  6. I live in Waldorf, MD and can't hook up with fellow retirees who enjoy bass fishing; so, why not start our own club? It would be open to all retirees and their spouses, single men, and single women; you just need to be retired, or retired while working part time. Nice part of this is we can fish during the week while everyone else is at work. This would be a social club as well - not just meeting at the ramp before or after a tournament; we would do other activities that would help bond friendships both on and off the water. For now, meetings could be held at my house which is near the center of Waldorf. Charter members get to pick the club name and set the rules. What do you think, your reply is welcome. Cheers
  7. Lucky Craft1, Have you herd of "Kickin' Bass Anglers, their in So. MD I'm lookn' for a partner too
  8. Just want to say Hi as a new member from So. Maryland; you can see my post under Introductions, it has a lot more info. I fish the "Middle Potomac" rt-301 to DC
  9. First - caution, I am new to posting on forums! Don't yet know what a Topic Tag is but I'll do my homework and find out. I'm from Waldorf, Maryland (S.E. of Wash DC) and have been fishing the "Middle Potomac" and it's creeks on the MD side since the mid 80's. I started out like many with a 14' jonboat that I added to over the years until the free-board was almost gone to the water line; then I moved up to a 88' Tracker Tournament TX that took me places a fiberglass boat wouldn't go. I had to take about a decade off due to work travel until I hit retirement, then I dusted off my rods and purchased a used Ranger DVS185 with a 150 Merc. Now I can run the "Middle" from one launch site! I make my own Spinner, Buzz, Jigs, Shakers, and soft plastic baits; had to stop the soft plastics though, the wife ran me out of the kitchen. If anyone in the So. MD area would like to join me for a day on the river let me know, I'm looking for another retiree to buddy up with. I would also like someone to show me other locations like Anna, or waters they like. Active military get a free ride. Hooked some Snakehead out there and would like to do my part to rid the river of them. Cheers,
