  1. LOL,LOL,LOL,,,, Ya, that's why I wouldn't want to be around when the s**t hits the fan. There's not much out on the water to stop stray rounds. This is really a useless subject to continue, I think I'll have some fun and go "be nice to" my wife.
  2. Holly crap, where do you fish, the river in Baghdad? LOL....... But seriously, I don't think I want to fish around you.
  3. I've been told some in the industry can tell the age of the user by the type of phone and the number of app's they have.
  4. His name was Bubba, he was from Mississippi ... And he needed a loan, So... He walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan Officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Paris for an International redneck festival for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000 and that he was not a depositor of the bank. The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Redneck handed over the keys to a new Ferrari. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank. The Redneck produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest. Later, the bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the Redneck from the South for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's private underground garage and parked it. Two weeks later, the Redneck returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07. The loan officer said, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out on Dunn & Bradstreet and found that you are a Distinguished Alumni from Ole Miss University, a highly sophisticated investor and Multi-Millionaire with real estate and financial interests all over the world. Your investments include a large number of wind turbines around Sweetwater,Texas. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?" The good 'ole boy replied, "Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?" His name was BUBBA.... Keep an eye on those southern boys! Just because we talk funny does not mean we are stupid.
  5. Give your doctors office a call with your question, his staff will relay it and call you back with his answer, It's a common way to handle a quick question with out a visit. Edit: Any opinions you receive here (and you've gotten some good ones) should be discussed with your doctor before taking action. IMHO, it's going to be a while before things settle down for you, especially at bed time. But hang in there and communicate with your doctor frequently., he may prescribe something to help you at bed time. I broke my back in Oct 2010 and I'm still recovering. I had a big problem at night with my spine transitioning from vertical to horizontal so my doctor gave me a Rx to help me sleep and it did the trick. I'm at the point that an occasional Tylenol will answer the need if I've been active on a rocking boat all day. You'll get back to normal, just don't try to rush it, it takes time.
  6. R.I.P. Andy, Thank you for many enjoyable hours of true entertainment.
  7. How long has it been since your surgery? Recovery could take a year or more for things to settle out. You may be doing too much to soon. Follow your doctors advice, he knows you and your problem first hand and is the only person who should advise you on your activitiies.
  8. BTW, I'm thinking this is an older motor with out a computer system?????? If it has a computer then you must find a factory wiring diagram. Also, does your boat have a kill switch?? If it does it's wired in series with the RUN circuit, if it doesn't... GET ONE !! Looking back at your pic in post #10. It looks like the bolt on the upper left of the starter has a Star washer on it, this is where the -12V heavy black wire from the main battery should connect. Star washers are used with electrical connections. Aw hell, give me the make, model, year, SN of your motor in a PM and I'll see what I can find for you. Add the same info on the boat if you can.
  9. Have you tried searching the web for a diagram of your motor type. Take some good clear pic's of the Ignition Switch "IS" and connecting wires, and, pic's of the wires at the motor. Tell us how many positions the "IS" has and what the switch terminals are marked, ie. BATT, ACC, RUN, ST. You may only have BATT, RUN, ST. From what I can see in the pic's you have, there is a Brown wire on the solenoid which should go to the start "ST" terminal of the ignition switch. "IS". You should have a red wire (+12 V) that goes from the main battery +12 V to a terminal on the "IS" that may be marked "BATT" These two wires when crossed should run the starter, if they're connected to the "IS" properly the starter will run only when the key on the "IS" is turned to the start position, and only then. Then you'll need to identify the "RUN" wire which should find it's way from the "IS" to the Distributer Circuit, it supplies +12 V (BATT) to the ignition system when the "IS" is in the Run position. It may go to the Distributer Points,, or one side of the high voltage coil. The better the pic's the better we can help you.
  10. Slim-for-Life Program A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 10 lb. weight loss program. The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19 year old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign round her neck. She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads: "If you can catch me, you can have me." Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later, huffing and puffing, he finally catches her and has his way with her. The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens. On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lb. as promised. He then calls the company and orders their 5-day/20 pound program. The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads: "If you catch me you can have me." Well, he's out the door after her like a shot! This girl is in excellent shape and it takes him a while to catch her; but when he does, it's definitely worth every muscle cramp and wheeze, so for the next four days, the same routine happens. Much to his delight, on the fifth day he weighs himself to discover that he has lost another 20 lb. as promised. He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/50 lb. program. "Are you sure?" asks the representative on the phone - "This is our most rigorous program." "Absolutely," he replies, "I haven't felt this good in years." The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge, muscular, 6'6" hairy man wearing nothing but pink running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads: "I'm Leroy. If I catch you, you're mine..."
  11. I wasn't expecting much, I thought I broke the camera as soon as you pointed it at me;)
  12. Have you got a voltage tester of any kind? a light-bulb and two wires can work. you'll need to check for power and ground at the starter and solenoid. The heavy black wire (-12 V) is usually the engine ground, the heavy red wire (+12 V) should find it's way to the solenoid. the white wire I can't say. You can try searching the web for a wiring diagram for you motor, search on year, make, model. If you have battery and ground connected to the motor correctly you can take a ground wire jumper to the solenoid's small terminals to activate the solenoid. There should be a -12 V wire (black heavy), +12 V wire (red heavy), start wire (small), run wire (small). Look at your electrical connection points carefully, terminals that have had wires removed may show evidence of tool marks. That's the best I can do for you with the lack of specific engine information.
  13. I've also had times with no A/C both at home and during some of my travels. I found a short refreshing cool shower works well just before bed. When I didn't have a shower available a cool tub and a bottle of wine did nicely. Mike - if you try this just make sure all you window curtains are closed,, you wouldn't want to scare the crap out of your neighbors
  14. OMG, please don't get me started on Bill, I love his stuff, and won't get anything done today.
  15. I recall the one time I was going to take my belt to my son. My wife had a really bad day while out shopping with the kids, my son was really being a hard head, she told him "just wait until your farther gets home - he's going to take his belt and blister your butt, and you wont be able to set down for a week." Dose this sound familiar to any of you? Well, as soon as I got home my wife takes me into our bedroom (some how I knew I wasn't going to get lucky) and she started unloading on me everything that had occurred during the day. And she ended with something like "and I want you to go in there and take your belt to him". I was shocked, she never said anything like that before. So I go into my sons room and he's setting on the edge of his bed; I told him to stand, turn around and bend over; and with that I pull my belt off. Well Mike saw that and started screaming and doing a dance like he's running in place with his arms flapping; I just stand there and watched, and soon my wife comes in and asked what did I do? I said NOTHING! Mike believed I was going to actually blister his butt. I don't recall having a problem with either of our children after that, sure, we may have raised our voice but they didn't push us to the point of the belt.
  16. You could get more rod length in the tubes if you removed part of the brace on the right side of the right hand tube and started the bend of the tubes at the start in the rod locker. The end of each tube could hit the inside of the starboard gunnel with the left hand tube ending at the bow point.
  17. Yes, the holes could work nicely if they are large and there are many of them. I found a 5 gal bucket bulky and ate up valuable space on a boat, it did however allow me to carry both the line and the mushroom anchor in the same container.
  18. X2 I used a slip-ring anchor on a larger boat I had at one time and loved it, I also had a danforth on the same boat as a second anchor and fought it many times.
  19. Last time I rented a Jon boat it had what I think was a two pound blue plastic coffee jug filled with concrete with a roting yellow plastic rope, it was the least effective anchor I've ever seen.
  20. X2 Older anglers be careful out there, the heat can sneak up on you quickly; don't be afraid of jumping in the water to cool off if things get bad, you need to drop your body temp. I'm 65 and in average shape,, which means I'm a physical wreck I was out one day last week, it was very hot - in the upper 90's, I drank two bottles of water and two bottles of gator-aide during the day and it wasn't enough. When I realized the heat was getting to me I wet down my buff and shirt, and headed in to the ramp about 45 min away. By the time I reached the ramp I was feeling bad and unsteady on my feet; when I got to my truck I ran the A/C on max and just sat there until I recovered enough to get the boat and head home. I actually considered going to the ER, but I know the routine and did it at home but it still took a day or so before I felt better, Be extra careful in the high temp and the sun while your on the water. Also, if your on medications make yourself aware of how they respond to sun and heat, some med's can make you sensitive to the sun; talk to your doctor about being out on the water in these conditions, and review your meds with them.
  21. IMHO, I've used a bucket and it doesn't let the line dry and it gets moldy. I found a net bag with a draw-string works best, just hang the bag up some place in the garage to let air circulate to dry the line. Also, the bag and line is pliable and can be stuffed up under a seat, and yes you can set on it when the line is dry We used canvas bags at work to store safety lines, rigging lines, etc. and they always worked well. Just had another thought, I've also used orange plastic power cord winders to store kite line on. The winder is the flat type that kind of looks like an H, they will also allow air to circulate around the line for drying. Don't get the round reel type they also hold water. You can find the power cord winders at the home centers. But I highly recommend the net bags.
  22. I think there are a few things missing, like: landscaper painter IT professional software expert Roofer a convincing lier extremely patient I know there must be more, what can you come up with??? Although,,,, if we start going ***-for-tat with a woman on this subject you know we'll loose, it doesn't matter what we come up with, we always loose...... So lets add.... be a good looser never disagree
