  1. I installed mine on a single switch for all lockers, and a switch for the foot-well. Lesson learned: 1. I forget to turn the switch off. 2. a switch on the console requires too much moving between the console and the lockers. 3. why turn on all lockers when you only need one on. 4. if I rework the system I'll put mag switches on each locker connected to the console switch. Mag switches rarely fail, they're a "reed contact" in a sealed glass tube; just make sure you have a solid mounting for both the mag and the contact, and the two are in proper alignment.
  2. I keep two K-1 heaters as standbys in-case we loose power; we can also cook on them if need be.
  3. The rolled paper industry answered this question a long time ago when they started printing designs on the paper (not talking about embossing); you can only see the printed design when pulled over the top. Besides, you can't find the tag end at times when pulled from under.
  4. I hear you, it's a personal thing. Also, you have more time in the hand with the Winchester, that's hard to overcome but it can be done. Go with the Win, and there's nothing wrong with a 20. Give the 870 a chance and it'll become an old friend too; I think the vent rib is just a mind thing that will disappear with time in hand. Ever try Skeet with a 410? BTW, All my guns had vent ribs, so I probably can't shoot a plain barrel.
  5. Agreed, I've seen guy's out in Jon boats with bows. The pontoon boat was very impressive; it has a good sized power generator and some serious flood lights. I'm sure it has probably prompted some UFO reports.
  6. Are you talking about shooting sporting clays?? What choke does each barrel have? Consider asking for a coach at the local gun club; one session just may do the trick. My 870 had a ventilated rib with a full choke and was very accurate. Also, look for a pattern board at the club to learn where the shot pellets are going. Usually a big problem in sporting clays is with follow-through; you can add a steel plug in the magazine tube to help. If your not talking about Sporting clays - then I can't help you
  7. A city girl was vacationing with her family in the country when she became friendly with a local farm boy. One evening, as they strolled across a pasture, they saw a cow and calf affectionately rubbing noses. "Gee", the boy said, "seeing that kind of makes me want to do the same." "Go ahead," the girl replied. "it's your cow."
  8. It appears the Pro's are starting to get the word, or they need more advertising space - I don't know which. I just saw Ric Clung (?) on Bass Pro TV and he's covering up too, but what's up with the ponytail ? X2 on the coverup,,, unless you have very good medical insurance cause you'll need it; just ask Al Linder.
  9. Plausible denial........ He was framed The circumstantial evidence is on the outside of his face, not in his mouth.
  10. I’m a retired Federal worker. Covering a span of forty years I worked all levels of Voice communications systems; from systems infrastructure design & installation, network architecture engineering, and unique voice communications systems. The last eight years I enjoyed world travel as a satellite earth terminal field engineer for the Diplomatic Telecommunications Service responsible for installation and maintenance of U.S. Embassy communications systems. Over the extent of my carrier I spent 50% of my life on the road traveling throughout the U.S. and mostly third world country's.
  11. I had a 870 for sporting clays (Trap) for many years. It was my favorite against a Perazzi (?) over/under. Even though I heavily modified it for the sport, it never gave me any problems.
  12. You make some very good points here. But the larger the pull cord the safer you'll be. Being able to see what your doing can make all the difference in the world. Remember - take your time, and don't force it.
  13. Be VERY careful using tiny string as a drag-line, it can cut into the sheath of other cables/wires, which will allow moisture to penetrate the cable/wires and destroy them. The worst part is you may not know you've done any damage for a while, then you wont connect the two events in your mind to understand what's going on. In my professional opinion - The Best Way To Go is the plastic fish tape..... Especially when your working around BATTERIES !!
  14. What RW said, X10
  15. SPAM !! SCRAPPLE !! They had SPAM and Scrapple on the show !!!! Poor baby didn't like the Spam though. LOL I just saw the show... I've seen that boat launching at Smallwood State park when I come in at the end of the day, they were fishing the Mattawoman Creek for the show. Don't know if it's the same guy's with the pontoon boat or not, but there are three guy's on the Matt that use two yaks they've rigged together with an elevated platform, two of the guy's work the yaks while one is bowfishing on the platform. It's really a nice setup for the job...
  16. 70 - 74 depending on the humidity. I'm surprised your Mom likes it that cool, usually older people like it much warmer.

  19. Temperature probe (cable type ) does anyone still use them? If so, what manufacture/model? I would frequently use one many years ago until it grew feet and walked away. IMHO I think they are more helpful in cold weather than what depth finders can tell you. Problem is I don't see them for sale much, I have to look hard to find one. What's up with that anyway??? Anyone use this one? How would you rate it? http://www.amazon.com/Luster-Leaf-PCPS50-Procatch-Catching/dp/B001NZYX1I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=27J7CKNCLX2TS&coliid=I3497ZE2QPRJRF
  20. That was the official credo I worked with for 30 yrs.
  21. Oh, your asking for it.....
  22. Two entrepreneurs at a networking event tried to make small talk. "Hey, do you believe in survival of the fittest"? one asked. "I don't believe in the survival of anybody," the other replied. "I'm an undertaker."
  23. Oh, that's bad........
  24. Bob, an old friend, just had another birthday and he tells me "it's awful to grow old alone". Confused, I said "but you have a wife" "Yes" Bob replyed, "but she hasn't had a birthday in 20 years"
  25. Hello Kenny and welcome to the site, enjoy
