  1. My 2010 SX outcasts and is smoother from the get go than the 6 curado D's and 2 E's Ive owned. I see no difference in the degree of difficulty in stripping either brand down for maintenance. Knock on wood Ive yet to have a backlash on the Revo either.
  2. My badge number.
  3. To me it just looks like the Discovery family of channels has discovered Larry Dahlbergs show was on. Instead of signing him up for an hour show they get all these guys. Funny a channel that touts conservation and they have guys who dont know how to treat fish. On the Lau-Lau and Nile Perch shows he leaves the fish out of water and runs the boat down river to release it on shore for better camera shots, risking the fishes life.
  4. Ive been a Shimano maniac all my fishing life. The Curado E series was a great disappointment to me. Great performer but highly cheapened from the series before it. Sadly Shimano now doesnt support the old series even though its just 2 years superceded. On a whim I bought a Revo SX. Ive found it better in every way to the E series. I hadnt bought an Abu since the Eon debacle but more Revo's are in my future. On a side note, the finish on my Stradic CI4 is rubbing off along the edge of the rotor even though its kept in a Shimano reel bag whenever its not in my hands. Im sad to say Im thinking of other brands first before Shimano now.
  5. Boy so much hate towards this kid. With about every post he makes too. What he must think about the adults that share the same interests he does. Makes me so proud to be a forum member.
  6. Good luck with the e z keeper. I found them to be a real pain. They move easily, and line gets caught on it during some slack line techniques like walkin the dog. I find they dont work at all on my cumara spinning rod. They line constantly gets caught on it.
  7. Thats one thing I hate about the Cumara. Look at the end of the grip, its a tiny hole in the foam. OK for a single hook, rotten for a treble.
  8. If they're anything like their fly rods they'll be incredibly heavy. But customer service is the best. Ive never met a TFO user who wasnt violently loyal. Sort of the fly communitys version of a shimano user.
  9. Sage. Hardly anyone knows they make conventional rods also, all travel. They have more experience with multipiece technology than anyone except maybe Loomis. Ive handled a Sage ML casting rod and if I had the cash I would have bought it.
  10. You guys are lucky to have such good snook fishing on the east coast. Charlotte Harbor was hit bad by the freezes, no matter what the experts and guides say. I fish more for freshwater snook than the ones in the harbor. Most of the canals were scummed over solid with dead fish. That being said the snook bite has been better than I can remember ever since. Over here we need more regs not less. Too many tournaments, too many mishandling guides and slob fisherman who take home everything they catch. Never a sign of serious FWC enforcement.
  11. Are you talking rod handles or reel handles?
  12. Im not all that happy with Dish either but suddenly Ive gotten a free month of WFN! Id never even heard of Lunkerville before, what a great show! By far more enjoyable and informative than any other bass fishing show ever.
  13. Geez dont apologize. Ive been here for years and check the site several times a day and I never knew we had forbidden family secrets we cant talk about.
  14. True. I think TT might have had something about the Veritas shortly before the show. Maybe its out, I wouldnt go by just what is covered by press. To me there has been absolutely pitiful coverage of Icast this year coupled with companies not coming out with much.
  15. I agree Dahlbergs craw seems like a well thought new idea. I like the frog too but whats up with that clear lip up in the air? The legs work great.
  16. On the plus side maybe it means no more Charlie Moore.
  17. I looked for his book about a year ago and was told it is out of print. Does anyone know a source for it? Also it if I recall correctly, he has past away. Im even more interested in this method now as I've found myself using spinning equipment and sized tackle more than casting anymore.
  18. Sharp looking for sure. I dont understand their nonclamature, what size is a 9530 comparable to, a 2000 or 2500 size Simano or Daiwa? Not to jack the thread have you seen the new Daiwa Exceler that comes with 2 different size spools? I wish they would all do that.
  19. Its designed to sit like that, I fish fish that lure alot. It slays big Snook when they are hunting glass minnows. I lose alot on the smallish hooks though. It makes a loud unique noise when snapped right.
  20. Anybody heard or seen anything on new baits? I saw Larry Dahlberg's stuff and Shimanos new jig. I havent seen anything about any other manufacturer. I hope Spro gets the little BBZ shad going soon!
  21. I dont get the Revo cant be easily tuned bit. Ive used nothing but Shimanos for years. I bought a Revo SX and find it no harder to tune than shimano. If anything, it has more ability with the external adjustment. It casts lighter stuff and everything further than any shimano Ive ever had and Ive had more than I care to admit to.
  22. Zoom Trick Worm Clear water- watermelon or limited edition motor oil Tannin water- black or pumpkinseed Stained water- pumpkinseed
  23. Soron STX not Revo STX. Many reel repairmen will tell you that the Soron's rotor and bail is very tough by design. With the new Revo spinning coming out at icast taking over Abu's top rung of the spinning ladder you might find Sorons going on clearance.
  24. A black Johnson spoon 1/4oz. Texas rigged Zoom trick worm, rigged tail end with a fine wire 1/0 or 2/0 offset hook.
  25. I get my but kicked all the time by a buddy who only fishes spinning outfits. You dont have to have a baitcaster, I was flipping and pitching with a 30 size spinner long before I got a baitcaster.
