  1. Sure its good! Its a Revo with a big box name stuck on it. Careful though the shimano gods will not be happy with your insight.
  2. Awesome show. God Bless Mr. Parker and the pro's that participate in that organization. That boy was full of personality, what a dollbaby!
  3. Shimano put a clear coating on their magnesium reels to prevent the disastrous reaction it has to saltwater. Thus they could state it was safe in saltwater. I would hope it wouldnt be that coating but it may be worth contacting Shimano about.
  4. Lunkerville
  5. Im talking about Pure Fishing, how conglomerates are eating up the Patrick Sebiles not the guy himself. Besides since when is a non american citizen entitled to the 'american dream'? As if the american dream was anything but a notion dreamed up by corporate owned media anyway.
  6. Business class and the science of economics teaches you whats good for business not whats good for your wallet. Business and the economy preys on the consumer it never benefits its. Keep dreaming
  7. Just found it at bass pro. I think its head and shoulders above any other bass magazine especially since the recession has given them the excuse to slim down to 50 pages of rehashed crap. The California tactics are useful anywhere. I plan on subscribing and getting the back issues.
  8. Well, your posting on the Shimano Curado forum so your not gonna get nothing but advise for it! Apples and oranges, comparing a $199 and a $269 reel. The Premier should be better.
  9. Im not talking about Sebile making out. Im not talking about an immigrant making the american dream. Im talking how $18.32 for a 8pk of shrimptails by Trigger-X a.k.a. Sufix a.k.a. Rapala is ultimately good for Mr. Conglomerate but hurts us. Because thats the price they are on the shelf at BPS right now. And if you think $17.00 is alot for a Sebile Magic Swimmer now how much more are they gonna be when Pure Fishing uses the excuse they are now tested in their state of the art complex in Iowa, to set the price even higher. Its Gulp all over again.
  10. yeah and wipes out the little guy and destroys the american dream and makes for a microeconomy which sets prices that in the long term are not beneficial to the consumer. And ultimately your wallet looses.
  11. I agree, that was my point. But its still not good for the consumer when everything is eaten up and owned by just 3 or 4 parent companies.
  12. Last month on the season premier of Hunt for Big Fish he talked about how he had new and interesting ideas he was working on bring out.
  13. Strike indicator is just floating yard or rubber to help you see when you have a delicate bite. For fly fishing advise like you want you'd be best off visiting fly fishing specific forums like warmfly or flyanglersonline. Be careful, fly fishing has its own breed of baitmonkey to haunt you!
  14. I hate this giant conglomerate stuff but maybe just maybe it'll get better like Penn improved recently. I wonder what a master lure maker who travels anywhere to fish for everything, will do with all that new $ and free time. I wish he was my Dad!
  15. Oh man where did you get that pic? That frog always queebed me out!
  16. Yeah real bang for the buck Shimano is. Cant keep the eva grip on my CI4 but hey you can buy the entire handle assembly cause we dont sell the 25 cent foam piece. Handle grips of my Curado 100D's are like gum, oh sorry you cant get parts for that reel its already 3 years old.
  17. Id didnt mean to imply the Predator is a bass rod. I think those fly rods that say theyre a bass rod are only a gimic. If your looking to never try fly fishing for anything but trout then a 6 wt isnt what you want and you'd be better off with a 4 wt. But that limits you if one day you discover that any species is a blast on a fly rod.
  18. I agree, I have a Redington Predator in 6wt and its perfect for my kind of fishing. Its handled all comers including baby tarpon and big snook. Id stay away from big box in house brands but theirs no need for elitist gear either. But I do see a need for a good drag on a reel for species other than bass.
  19. There is something to be said for the Soron's aluminum rotor and bail arms compared to Stradics graphite. I would is the design made to alleviate the need for backing to be worthwhile also. You wont find it here, but search the proreelcleaning.com articles on another site that explains in detail the amazing deal the Soron is when compared to other spinning reels. No use saying anything about the curado, it is god here.
  20. Daiwa Sol on a Shimano Crucial 6'6" crankbait rod.
  21. What action and ratings are marked on it? That'll tell you what you can use it for. 5'6" is ideal for skipping soft plastics under branches and docks.
  22. B Dozer, 1600 size abu's were small, like a Calcutta 50. International Series models were unique Abu's that were updated with instant anti reverse, all made in Sweden and smooth strong reels.
  23. Well its a good thing you all have a remote that changes channel. Now you can watch someone classy like Charlie Moore waste your time dusting cans with a AR-15 when he should be on the boat, or making commercials hanging with Tred Barta acting like friends. All the while Barta is thinking to himself exactly what Sinatra used to say "Kid, I poop people like you in my stool"
  24. Im unimpressed so far. Have used it 3 or 4 times a week for a month. It retains its color a little longer than other braids. Its stiff, reminds me of Fireline. Knots well. I read it would sink better than performance braid, I notice no difference. It is much quieter through the guides. But most of all using a set up(Stradic CI4 4000/Cumara 7'2"), I had performance braid of the same size on, I have much less casting distance with 832. Very stiff. Im gonna transfer it to a baitcaster and see if it performs better.
  25. Wish I still had it but the 1600C3IAR from the International Series Abu came out with about 12 years ago.
