  1. I don't know where you are located, but there are a few things that I do that haven't been mentioned. In addition to the frog, I'd fish a zoom ultravibe speed worm on an eighth ounce weight or smaller (preferably around a sixteenth ounce). Do not peg the weight. You can fish the very edge, toss it a few feet into the pads, or throw it into the holes. You can do the same thing with a ten inch worm, but stick to an eighth or quarter ounce weight. Someone mentioned punching, but I usually use a half or three eighths ounce weight since most pads aren't thick enough to punch. Also, try pegging an eighth ounce or smaller weight to a swimbait like a missile baits shockwave. Toss it into the pads and just reel slowly and pause it occasionally. The bait will usually pull to the surface as it crawls over a pad, but that is no big deal. I think it actually helps. You can do the same thing along the edge of the pads.
  2. 22 please. Thanks for the opportunity.
  3. I agree. I doubt the bass care, but if you want it to swim right, try bending the wires and making sure everything is inline.
  4. I'm not sure, but I would think this company has some sort of affiliation with Rapala. If you look at the bait pictured, it looks like the original floater/countdown body. In addition the website setup looks like that of Rapala's especially the part where it shows the action of the bait.
  5. There's also the Wacky rig and Neko rig.
  6. The Roboworm Rebarb Hook is the popular dropshot hook on Lake Lanier.
  7. I use Booyah and War Eagle Spinnerbaits. I really like the Gold Scale Chartreuse White color in Booyah Spinnerbaits. The Booyah Pipsqueek and War Eagle Buzzbait are good as well.
  8. Also, angle your rod toward the water when you walk it. I turn to my right, point the rod toward the frog and snap the rod back toward me. I keep enough slack in the line so that at the end of the pop I can barely feel my frog. If you have too much slack, only the line will move. If you don't have enough slack, you will make the frog bob instead of walk. If you still can not walk the frog don't worry about it. Just bob the frog instead. I doubt it makes a whole lot of difference to the fish.
  9. I have a padcrasher, and it is kind of hard to walk. For me the farther out it is the easier it is to walk. The Spro Popping Frog is extremely easy to walk. It is even easier to walk than the regular bronzeye. I walk a frog best when I pop from side to side.
  10. I fish it like any other worm. the tail is bigger so it has more vibration. the hook depends on which size you have. if it is the smaller size a 3/0 or 4/0 will be fine. if you have the larger size you need a 5/0 or bigger
  11. The largest spook is a go to top water on lake Lanier. People will walk it as fast as they can. The spotted bass will hit to kill it then eat it. If they hit it keep hitting it. They will decide they can't kill it so they will eat it. That is why it is important to make a long cast.
  12. With wire tie the skirt is secured to the jig via wire. The wire is tied around the jig and skirt. With the rattle band the skirt is pulled through the band, and the hook is threaded through the hole in the band. Then the band is slid up the shank of the hook. The band has places on it where you can add or remove rattles. The wire tie will last longer and won't slide down the shank like a rattle band can. Rattle bands eventually rot; therefore, a wire tie lasts a lot longer.
  13. can you do custom skirt combos?
  14. If the fish are real white they probably just moved up. I'm sure they would be darker colored in that water if they had been there for a while. If they are moving up, more fish will be behind them. Good Luck!
