  1. Avoiding spoilers... you can't have a show if they stay somewhat secure in one place and get stale secondary caracters. Gotta keep moving to new places and meet new, interesting people. It was inevitable.
  2. I only have two rules on my boat... Keep positive... I need someone who will help keep me positive during the tough bite. Don't cast over my line. I had this one guy, who no longer fishes with me, that constantly would cast forward of the center line and say "Sorry, didn't see your line." when all along I knew he was just steamed that the front of the boat always got to a spot first. I don't worry about dirt, blood, stains scuffs, etc on my boat. I bought it to use it. It will happen. Smoking... just don't burn a hole on my boat. I never fished with anyone who showed total disregard for my boat. If I did... you'd only fish with me once. Peeing? Hell... I can't pee off a boat without getting some on the gunwales. Why should I expect you to. Just dip a little water and rinse it off. As for money... If I call you up and ask you to go for a recreational fishing day, I do not expect a dime from you. I invited you. I will accept it if I feel you may be insulted if I do not. If you call me and ask me to take you... a little cash would be nice. In a tournament, the co-angler should pay half of all expenses. What to expect from me on my boat... lots of chatter and joking, a little bit of cursing, sometime an action that make you say "huh?", and several times me asking you to run the TM so I can do something else. I have to leave the boat drifting and you standing there doing nothing so I can re-tie or untangle a line. I will often ask your opinion and will start the day by saying your have the right to make suggestions. You are here to catch fish, too. Not just be a pretty face on my boat.
  3. Where poll..... http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/127882-where-should-the-virginia-2014-meet-greet-happen-poll/
  4. Do not post comments here unless you want to add another place. Just post the name and I wil add it. In two weeks or so, I will take the top three and post another poll to finalize the "Where"/
  5. Well... I will start the Location Poll today and see where it goes... I haven't given up. Never will...
  6. Guess there's no real interest in this. OK...
  7. Well... name a location...
  8. Guys... I believe we need to start trying earlier this time for the Va M&G. Give people a chance to make plans, take off from work, prepare the family, etc. I felt exceptionally bad about this year's fiasco as I was one of the planners and life (so to speak) got in the way with my changing of jobs and the passing of my Mother-in-law. I will endevor to make 2014 happen. I would like feedback and, if the feedback is positive, we will begin to make plans ASAP. The intention, on my part as I have not spoken with any others, is to have this finalized by February 1, 2014. I believe this will give all plenty of time to make arrangements. I will suggest the following: Use this thread for a poll on "EVENT VOLUNTEERS" now. You sign-up to help coordinate this M&G. Begin a "WHERE" poll based on suggestions on this (No where else) thread no later than December 1, 2013 and finalized by December 14, 2013 Begin a "WHEN" poll based on suggestions on this (No where else) thread no later then December 14, 2013 and finalized by December 28, 2013. Begin a "COST" poll based on suggestions on this (No where else) thread no later then December 14, 2013 and finalized by December 28, 2013. Have a "SIGN-UP" thread started no later then January 1, 2014 Choose a "Treasurer" on this thread (you suggest who) that will be responsible for collecting all fees (if any) and who will administer them in the chosen way. Try to have the M&G occur earlier than we planned in 2013 so school is not in and families can attend. Pick a camping and a hotel location and attempt to get special rates for all. Set up a final date no later than February 1, 2014 for all participants to have sent in their fees (if any). Ok... your turn...
  9. Sorry... missed this one. Been a tough bite on SML. Not sure why. Hope you did well at your tourney.
  10. Went to Sandy River with a friend two days ago. Got a few but not on fire. Really been slow on SML and Leesville as well. Looking for suggestions on how to fish this time of the year if anyone is willing...
  11. Looking to see who is in within a reasonable distance of the Altavista area. You decide what "reasonable" is. Looking at maybe starting a club... gauging interest and potentional membership, thoughts and suggestions, etc. Not sure if affiliation to a larger group, B.A.S.S. or FLW or the like, should be a requirement. Thought a non-affiliated "fun" club might generate interest for boaters and non-boaters alike. Everybody would be welcome but I though it would be easier if the person lived close to the club's home area.
  12. Whale Placenta...
  13. I believe I owe an apology for my backing out on this one. If not for the death of my Mother In Law, this may not have been the case. I will extend an offer... anyone who wishes to come down here... come on down. Fish with me and we'll have a great time on Smith Mt. or Leesville.
  14. Last I spoke with him... he's gotten into the Wounded Warrior Project. This has consumed most, if not all, of his free time. I know he planned on driving up for the day but not sure now.
  15. Maybe, maybe not for me. Mother in law passed away and my Wife was Exec of the Estate. She is not good at these things. If we cannot tie up loose ends by Wednesday... I will not be able to make it. MIL did not have Life insurance and it has screwed me as I had to pay for everything.
  16. It does not take much space. I think the seat is only 3 or 4 inches from the original farthest rear position. A smaller TM Battery would fit under it. May do that as the 27 series makes the front a bit heavy with a second person in there.
  17. I used butterfly wall anchors and silicon sealant to hold the foot control and mounting surface to the boat. The TM is held with standard bolts.
  18. Some quick pics of how I mounted my TM. The mechanism has been turned around and I had to mount the foot control backwards but it works really well.
  19. Still planning on it. Been real busy lately. Mother-in-Law has been seriously ill and was touch and go for a while. Remodeling Wife's salon after I get off work and building a new shed. During all this... I have to fish.
  20. Going to get pics and an explanation in a day or two.
  21. I just converted my old Minn Kota Edge 45 bow mount to a transom mount but still stowes like a bow mount and has the foot control. Tried it today and worked great. Turns on a dime though.
  22. Thanks everybody. Lots to think about.
  23. I am in need of replacing my Trolling Motor batteries. I have a Minn Kota Maxxum 24V 70LB Thrust and 27 series batteries now but they are bad and need replacement. Any suggestions as to what size and brand I should get? 27 series is the biggest I can fit. Brand? EverStart? Interstate? Exide? What?
  24. I am the Lead at DSG/Roanoke in the lodge. The F&S Eagle Run or the Talon would be an excellent choice and get more bang for the buck than the rest. They have great durability and maneuverability. As for the paddle and PFD… paddle-$40-$100 and the F&S PFD was on sale for $49. Everyday you get 15% off PFD and Paddle if both bought at the same time as the Yak. BOL… “probably” a big sale on Yaks for the 4th.
