  1. Without a doubt, go with the Yo-Zuri HyBrid Ultra Soft. Very little memory, and very strong. I've been using 12# ultra-soft on my baitcasters for a few years now. I will never switch, ever.
  2. I had a Pro120 with a 50lb trolling motor and a 8hp mercury. I had it for a year, it was a nice little boat. Great for the little sandpits I was fishing at the time. I bought it from my uncle. THE only reason I bought is that he ask if I wanted to buy it. Boat, motor, trailer, trolling motor all for $500. I'm not sure if he was just being nice or what, but I didn't ask questions. Just gave him the cash and drove off with the boat. One year later, I $old the boat, motors, and trailer for $1900. 8-)

  4. I won't be able to get to it for a couple weeks. I think I'm going to pull the lower unit and take a look at the impeller. My guess is that it's shot. That is where I'll start. Thanks for all the great info!
  5. Thanks W2S! That is pic is not my motor. I did some reading on the internet and watched some video's on replacing the impeller. Looks easy enough, so we'll see how it goes.
  6. I recently acquired a 8hp Merc from my uncle. Its a mid-to lake 80's model. He had it for about 6-7 years and he rarely used it. I don't think it has been used for the last 3 years at all to tell the truth. So I took it out yesterday and I noticed that there was no water coming out of it while it was running. Since there was no water coming out of it after a minute or so, I shut it off thinking that the water pump is shot. That brings to where I'm at now. The motor runs like a top but no water coming out of the motor. Is this a fairly easy fix that I could do myself? Or should I just take it to a mechanic to have it changed? How much am I looking at ($$$) by taking it to a mechanic? Thanks. This is not a pic of mine (this one has water coming out of it : ), but it looks exactly like this.

  10. I use a wood pellet grill. No propane or charcoal for me. I made the switch 2 years ago and would never go back! 8-)
  11. I do have to applaud the creativity of these people, but I don't think I'd go out in that thing. I'd bet you get some interesting looks at the local boat ramp.
  12. What make and model is this?? Its a sun dolphin pro 12. I'm kinda leery about how the plastic will hold up, but I bought it for $500 with everything. New they are about $2,500 with trailer and no accessories. (not worth it in my opinion). I'll let you guys know how it performs on (my) maiden voyage.
  13. I just got this last month. I have a 50lb Trolling motor and a 8hp merc. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet. I bought it from my uncle, its about 5 years old and used maybe a dozen times over those years. Motor runs like a top.
  14. I don't, but you might want to try Craigslist. They have a lot of small boats.
