  1. You guys might as well just meet up at beto with the other 40 boats. No way they let you out there tomorrow.
  2. Getting a little tired of listening to Curt talk about his rod. How bout getting a Spring Get Together thread started...or too soon?
  3. Snuck out and fished Lenexa from shore today for an hour. Got three dinks all on a strike king jerkbait. Felt good to catch a few but was hoping for at least some size. Tried a finesse jig for awhile but no bites. JayhawkKU, jerkbaits are the deal for me when the water gets cold, and I have a hard time trying anything else. Keep at it. Can't make the Thursday night deal but sounds fun.
  4. 2014 Biggest Local Bass Weight (or length if you didn't have a scale): 3.90 lb Largemouth Lure: Strike King 300 Series Jerkbait Pattern: shallow point near creek channel Lake: Mr. El Vern Time of Year: April This turned out to be my biggest of the year, but felt like I had a good spring with lots of 3-4 lb fish from Melvern before our first child came. Hoping to get out more in 2015 and catch a bigger one. Thinking about you, Scrogg. Hope things turn around for you.
  5. This is the best report I've been able to post in about two months. Enjoy. Got 45 minutes free and went to Mize yesterday as the front rolled through. Caught a couple small ones on a jerkbait, but no good ones. Had one follow right to the bank and watched him destroy the bait. He ate it like a kid eats a hot dog with both ends of the bait sticking out of his mouth and still didn't hook up . Pretty cool to watch though.
  6. Sizzle, let's take the pond hopper to Melvern on Tuesday!
  7. Anybody got an open seat next Tuesday or Wednesday? Send me a pm.
  8. Baby brush hogs or the full size ones?
  9. Nice backgrounds! Lol
  10. Put the boat away for the winter yesterday. Wife demanded the garage back with the weather coming this week. I need a house with a three car garage...
  11. That's the first thing I did when I got home.
  12. I left the boat keys at home
  13. Let's just say lone star was trolling motor only yesterday, but not because of any mechanical issues, and sizzle out fished me from the back. Not a good day.
  14. Late notice but have an open seat this afternoon. Send me a dm.
  15. A moderator should rename this thread to "So Yall Want To Learn Melvern"
  16. Throw a Ned towards the blue stuff (and rread Ondrejka post). Should do just fine.
  17. Heading to Table Rock (Indian Point area) for a few days. Won't have a ton of fishing time, but I'll probably sneak out early in the mornings for a few hours at a time. Will post a report if I do any good.
  18. Spent a couple of hours up there earlier in the summer. Didn't catch any great numbers or size, but ran into a few decent fish. Lake looks good and a bank fisherman he told me he caught a 21" LM on a frog.
  19. I'm heading to the Rock next week for a few days and pulling my boat down there. I'll be fishing early mornings. Will post my reports in the KC thread.
  20. Just keep in mind that Zequanox is not a chemical. It's a bunch of dead bacteria that, once consumed by the zebra mussel, affects the digestive gland causing its death. http://cida.usgs.gov/glri/projects/invasive_species/zm_control.html While they can't treat the whole Great Lakes, they can treat native shell beds, water intakes, marinas, and other sensitive areas selectively to try to mitigate some of the damage. Will be interesting to see what happens when some of these smaller lakes are treated completely.
  21. I hear the pay is awesome. Congrats.
  22. Had to see what all the fuss was about so headed to lone star with my brother. Only had a few hours, on the water at 315 and off by 615. Caught 11 between the two of us but no big ones. Almost all on Texas rigged plastics and spent all our time in the cove with all the docks. Cool lake and looking forward going back.
  23. I'm out. Babysitting my baby.
