  1. Congratulations to the KC legend @Bluebasser86 on the top 15, in-the-money finish in the Bassmaster Kayak CLASSIC down at Tenkiller! The guy just catches fish and he showed it on a the big stage this week!
  2. It's been 24 days, so hopefully you've figured it out! I fish the lake twice a year right around this time due to an event out there. I figured out how to navigate that area by watching other boats. Yes, you can run up there and you take a NE heading after going through the No Wake area past the bridge. Follow another boat or idle through it the first time. You'll see the markers on the trees that the club guys usually do a good job of maintaining (it's similar to markings they have on the Camp Branch side). It can be really hard to find the lanes when the water is high, and I wouldn't recommend trying to find the lane during high water without following a boat that knows that they are doing.
  3. They are above the dam. Cool! Didn't know that fishing the kaw was worth the effort.
  4. Kansas River near Lawrence huh? Did you put in over there where the rowing team has all their stuff or somewhere else?
  5. I’ll be back. Uncertain on how soon. Wanting to spend more time with my dad next year, and that means getting back on the golf course.
  6. If anyone is looking for a boat, mine’s for sale! It’s got two Garmin plus units (93 and 73 sv). Might have a few waypoints on it too ?. Details on Craigslist. Just search for 2010 Triton VT 17.
  7. @Bluebasser86 and I hit the two Pleasanton lakes yesterday. The east lake was pretty good to us for numbers. We had at least 20 on a variety of baits including wobblers, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, rodents, a senko, and I think Clayton had one on a trap. No size, so we packed it up and went to the smaller west lake. The water was green and nasty looking but we gave it a go. Did a quick lap where I was skunked. Shocker...the global moderator was not skunked and stuck a nice one on a jig off a catfish feeder.
  8. I'll be sure to make it clear in my year end performance review with you that I'm not looking for a promotion ? It's a thankless job, but thanks for doing what you do and creating the group!
  9. Good write up Mr. Director. ?
  10. Big bass from our Thursday night deal at Douglas state fishing lake last week. 2.55lbs on a gilly big head wobbler. The wobbler bite was pretty good around the grass where there was a little wind. Plenty of dinks to keep things interesting too.
  11. The new echomap plus units are pretty awesome. I have two (the 73 and 93). Waypoints share immediately between them, QuickDraw is really cool for making your own maps of small lakes in KC. The plus units are compatible with panoptix and Livescope...If you can afford the new echomap plus, then pony up and do it.
  12. Congrats on the boat purchase!! La Cygne’s been pretty good this year. I know my first few times out there were not good but never a better time to throw some stuff around and start figuring it out than now. Good luck!
  13. The willow was good to us at Olathe. Best looking stuff in town from what I’ve seen this year by a long shot. We only fished the west side of the lake but the big fish came from the east. Kermit may or may not have been involved there as well ? Miola usually has the best willows around, and it’s terrible out there this year for some reason ?‍♂️
  14. A few good ones from our Thursday night tourney at Olathe tonight. Bite was good for all boats. Took over 13lbs to win and a 4.6lb big bass. We had third with 10.70 lbs.
  15. We blanked on Saturday during the event, so you won't learn much from me. Had boat issues, which didn't help much. We caught one fish last Friday in twin coves area on a shallow crank and one fish on the very opposite end of the lake about halfway up camp branch on a main point flipping stumps. Good luck!
  16. Dwight and I will be prefishing Smithville on Thursday, and I heard @RangerDanger was fishing it this year too. Maybe this year will be perfect timing.
  17. That’s an awesome fish. I had a day out there two years ago when me and a buddy had over 15 lbs with four fish on a squarebill up in the camp branch arm. I’ve fished it twice every spring for the past five years or so (KC corporate challenge), and there are plenty of days where I have not gotten a single bite.
  18. Did they close the old one or just open another location?
  19. He’s very reasonable. I think he only charges like $200 for a day on the water.
  20. Wow! There were several of us out last night and only one boat had anything resembling a decent limit. Nice job.
  21. Not this year. Yes, just run the trolling motor and you're good!
  22. Nice work @redbirdsfan44! I fished Smithville Thursday morning to pre fish for KC Corporate Challenge and I got skunked. Last year prefishing my boat had over 15lbs, so it was a bit discouraging. Today was the actual event, and we started out with a solid keeper back in ? creek on the Ned of all things. Then I lost one on a beaver. We felt like we had something figured out by fishing channel swings, but then my steering cable went out on the trolling motor. We spent the rest of the event under the owl creek bridge catching dink crappie. Had a good time but would have like to have had the whole day to bass fish to see if we could have put together something. Maybe next year....
  23. What parts of the lake are you fishing? I'll be out there next Thursday and Saturday. Will let you know how it goes.
  24. Well, I fished Table Rock on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Tournament days were Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I fished the KC area and found fish on points eating a 2.8 keitech in smoke shad color. Had a blast catching lots of fish but not a lot of size. My best five went just over 10 lbs. Sunday I trailered down and fished the Baxter area and found a few in the backs of pockets. Didn't catch as many fish, but caught a bigger one on a jerkbait that went 3.4 lbs. Weighed in at just under 11lbs. This was my second trip to fish Table Rock, and I enjoyed this one a lot more than my previous trip when I nearly was skunked. Seems like the population is extremely healthy and lots of fish to be caught. Thanks @Bluebasser86 for taking us all to school (again).
