  1. I disagree. The traditional battering ram style fullback isn't that common today anyways. He was over 240 last year. He would be EXCELLENT lined up at fullback. Be it direct snaps, throwing, blocking, or even an effective decoy. No one knows what his hands are like , but i could see dump offs to him in the flat likely picking up alot of nifty 5 yard gains. I can't wait to see how belicheck uses him.
  2. As a tebow fan, he couldn't have went to a better place. Zero chance of a QB controversy, a coach who doesn't like to hear himself talk (Rex?) and keeps things in check. Could be some very interesting goal line and I formation packages. Don't see him as a TE, hes just not that fluid. Wouldn't want to meet him in a gap though.
  3. I have a few and their a blast! More subtle touchdown than the big honking 5/8 frogs. They don't cast too bad on my shakyhead rod with 15/4 braid.
  4. Have to agree, they are really obnoxious. Funny story, I have a friend who hunts in a club a few miles down the road. A guy moved in from the city and built a house along the front of the property where they turkey hunt. The guy was a major goon, calling the game warden repeatedly for no reason, honking his horn to deter the game, etc. My buddies soon discovered that hitting the peacock call at 430 am on the way by his house would cause his whole property to erupt (he had over a dozen peacocks)...ol' boy mellowed out in time lol.
  5. Ignorant question...does sunscreen hinder your ability to get a tan?
  6. Have fun man. I've been on a bulk since the 1st week of feb. I'm up to 194 from 180 with not much water/fat gain, love handles have came on a bit lol. Don't really care about daily nutritional totals, I eat 20-40 grams of protein every 2 hours I'm awake, get the right carbs at the right time, and get plenty of good fats from what I eat. The only supps I'm currently on are gold standard whey and some HCI creatine. I have access to gear right now, and I'm not gonna lie adding 15lbs of lean mass is very tempting but the pros outweigh the cons for me. You can't cheat nature, the health complications are overhyped, but you keep natural gains a lot better than chemically assisted. That's the biggest factor for me. Look up what Ronnie Coleman and Barry bonds look like these days...Ronnie was on stage at the Arnold and looked like a 5 year old in his dads clothes.
  7. My e7 does that at times...never made the connection of the reel seat putting it in a bind. I actually tried to show a buddy where the spool bearings were a few weeks back and liked to never got it open. Kind of embarrassing lol.

    Buzzbait

Brand really doesn't matter for me, as long as its quality components even the generic $3 buzzers catch fish just as good....even the premium brands can get trashed after a few big fish. Retuning them works sometimes, sometimes you can tweak and adjust and never get them right.
  9. No need to go small just cause its a smaller pond I never understood that logic...you may be limiting yourself.
  10. If u lookup the groups "tower climbers of America" and "tower hands" on Facebook, there's companies recruiting nearly everyday. You may post something mentioning your looking for work (mention your military background). You can also check out sites like wireless estimator.com Feel free to ask me if you have any questions.
  11. If your not afraid of heights tower work is booming for the foreseeable future...there's a shortage of hands right now. Whether or not you travel or stay local depends on the outfit, but you can go in green and pull in over 60k a year right now with overtime. Some carriers are paying the crew 5k extra on a 1 day job just to get crews.
  12. 11lbs 4oz on a grass stalker jig w/a flapping hog trailer. "Fishing Drew" and I caught 3 DD's off the same laydown in one day w/another 6 over 8lbs...Every big prespawn fish in the lake was on that tree that day lol. I had just had my wisdom teeth out the day before and was on the fence about heading out, glad I did!
  13. There is a nice little back water lagoon on a local lake that used to be an outstanding area for pickerel and LMB. 6 years ago grass carp were released to combat hydrilla. Ive fished it extensively this year, and have noticed that the carp (now over 3') have cleaned it out of vegetation. Ive also noticed that to catch bass now out of there, you have to be fishing directly in cover. The bass no longer are in open water anymore. Interestingly, i havent caught the first pike since the carp have taken over. Used to catch more pike than bass. I suppose the hydrilla was perfect for an ambush predator like a chain pickerel.
  14. I agree I dont think its your hook. a 1/0 EWG on a 4" minnow bait is okay...Are you texposing leaving the just the hook point buried? You never know, could be a school of crappie or bluegill also.
  15. Sons of Anarchy is an awesome show. I'm 6 episodes in and hooked.
  16. The great forgotten Chronarch D! My personal favorite jig reel of all time.
  17. Rippin rap. The rattling rapala is the one bait of theirs I won't use. Never have had one to track correctly. I own one rippin rap, and its caught fish the 2 times I used it. Doug Stange of infisherman sure likes them, for whatever that's worth. As the name suggests, It's designed more to be vertically ripped that just cast and straight retrieved.
  18. Absolutely! There's a myth that only big spook type baits are the only thing that can call fish up from the depths. Not true. I've seen a 9lb bass swim over 40 feet to eat a buzzbait right at the boat. They will go get them. The awesome thing about a buzzbait is that at any moment you can catch a giant. Some think it's due to a bass not getting a good look at the bait, some say its the sound/vibration, all I know is they work well in open water. There is a small ridge on lake Anna, that comes up to about 12-15' and is surrounded on all sides by 30-40' of water, no cover, in the middle of the lake. We had a couple 20 fish days a few years back using 3/8oz secret weapon brand buzzers. Another thing I like about them is they cover water much faster than poppers/spooks/hollow frogs and are easier on the wrists. Years and years of walking the dog and lifting weights have given me a few aches and pains lol.
  19. Not necessary. I glued felt to the tips of the same pliers. The tapered pin is already out quite a bit, an easy pull STRAIGHT out does the trick.
  20. Been using a set of pliers I modified for about 5 years now...duckbill linemans pliers with a notch I carved out with the grinder; works perfect and a fraction of the price.
  21. They actually have ended up with a pretty good haul. The WR,CB,TE,S, and RB are legit players that will help down the road. They potentially replaced miles austin, orlando scandrick, Jason witten, and found a good runningback to complement murray. The corner, Webb excelled in this very defense in college...who knows if he pans out they could shift carr to free safety again. As much as I hate to admit it, this is a good draft. The rumor is they're gonna sign RT clabo or hopefully, Winston. Ronde barber is also still out there, and would be a nice addition in kiffens scheme. They will still be on the hook for a good chunk of the $, but cutting Doug free and miles Austin would save some cap space. If they can get a FA tackle, let both of em go.
  22. Let me Clarify Regarding Floyd, that came out wrong he has certainly shown potential in flashes. But 5 sacks in his entire college career? It's not like he's a run stuffer either. The 23 or so teams that passed on him saw something. At any rate I agree with you on everything else. Jerry is running this team into the ground..his ego and penchant for going against the grain to look like a genius are killing us. Heaven forbid he let the best player in an area of need come to them.
  23. Jerry definitely outsmarted himself on this one. I understand the logic at least on trading out of that spot, the way the board fell in picks 8-17 all the guys who would have been a fit were gone. I looked at who was a available at 18 and it wasnt much. I don't think Floyd's going to amount to much, he'll be in a good situation and see some single blocking in minnesota, but lets not forget he's only occasionally flashed potential. he gets blown off the ball and washed out laterally quite a bit. DT's seem to have a higher bust rate than other positions. It would have been awesome if Sylvester Williams out of UNC fell but he get picked up 2 picks in front of us. Don't like the Frederick pick at all, Romo is at his worst with pressure up the middle. Lets draft a center who struggles with that who would've been there in rd 3...ugh. Had they got SF's 2nd it would have been a good deal, but alas they didn't. Did you notice they submitted the trade super early? What was the big rush?
  24. US Cell, much like Ntelos and possibly cricket have been building their network to sell it for a while. I honestly dont know much about the sprint network in the midwest, I believe there's a 3rd party website or two out there that call test the various carriers throughout the country and will give you a ballpark of whats near you. Reception can be affected by a lot of things, traffic on a given cluster of sites, building penetration of the RF, heck even leaves on the trees and solar flares. Typically, CDMA technology (verizon), will getter slightly better distance from a given site, and reach out in the boonies slightly better. GSM based networks (ATT and TMOBILE where they have it) have far superior data, and offer the ability to do things online while on a call.
  25. Hit several bodies of water yesterday, still no bass on beds but tons of shallow fish. Saw several crappie on their beds. Spotted a male and female bass paired up and hanging within a 15' square area, gravitating back towards a particular spot that will end up being a bed.
