  1. Honestly every craw or chunk I've tried by ragetail, paca, berkley, and zoom have all worked fine. I even pour my own for fun... Profile and color matter more to me. I realise it may be more of what you'd call a spider grub, but the yammomoto hula grub outfishes every craw I've used on a texas rig.
  2. Campbell based on production. Bo was a freak of nature, and will always be one of the biggest "what ifs" in sports. He's quite the bowhunter also lol.
  3. What model are you using? The larger one's are easier to "walk". Keep in mind due to it being tail weighted and the overall shape of the bait, its not going to walk the way a spook or x walk will. Initially like alot of other people, I was turned off by the bait; expecting a spook type action like yourself. In time I fell in love with them. Stick with it, your retrieve doesnt have to be pretty or a perfect cadence.Theres a reason everyone knocks off these baits. I'm a diehard topwater guy, and a sammy 85 in MS american shad is my favorite bait of all topwaters.

    Football?

Its really up for grabs this year, especially the AFC. I wouldn't sleep on the bengals. They quietly have put togethrr a lot of young talent; two elite young lines. The last 10 years as a Dallas fan have humbled me. The roster is more rounded out this year, adding brian waters was a good get. Time will tell on the 4-3 switch, so far the turnovers have been through the roof. Sean Lee, D ware, and Bruce Carter are taylor made for this scheme. They just need to stay healthy, theyre already missing half the D line....I don't know if they need to reevaluate their practice routine or what, but the hamstring/groin/knee injuries these past 2 years are troubling.
  5. Pick up the actual leader mtl....I've been using the 12lb for a couple years and love it. The little coil lasts longer than you'll think. I actually prefer it to the 12lb yozuri hybrid I also use.
  6. I believe they changed them a few times...but if I recall correctly that reel had a lot in common w/pflueger presidents. It may be worth looking into should you not be able to find anything.
  7. There's a small river that has all 3 species with limited fishing pressure near our property. We used to catch quite a few "mutt" bass, usually quite small...My uncle did catch a 4lb range smallmouth with a baseball sized mouth once, even as a uninformed kid I couldnt believe it.
  8. Ive seen 2 or 3 like that. Gray foxes can also get midnight black. I had a deer hang out by my stand once that the body wasn't much bigger than a beagle. I don't know if there are midget animals or not but that thing was odd.
  9. The rod helps for sure, but my E7 can come really close to the bottom of the spool with a sammy 115 on a 7' H' falcon bucoo and 12lb hybrid. The rod loads quite a bit; and its after a fresh bearing flush and the oil gets situated. I own a pond that I've fished with a bunch of friends all my life, and no reels come close to casting accross it. This one can when everythjng else is conducive.
  10. Cold turkey is the way to go.... I understand the ecig thing for the no tar. But nicotine is still your master. (And you look like a goober IMO) I've had a handful of friends switch to the ecigs, and they all ended up back on cigarettes. I hope you can find comfort in me telling you the cravings will get farther and farther apart. Don't count the days, just take one craving at a time; they always pass. I would pop a breathsavers 3 hour mint everytime I craved initially, in time you can train your brain.
  11. Been doing it for a while myself....Deadly in shallow pads, You can even add the middle of a 3rd stickbait if you're inclined. If you want a bulkier version, the largest strike king ocho is an option. Wave worms also made a fatter version of the tiki stick also, but the name escapes me.
  12. I have a friend who used to fish the older pro-ams. He told me an amusing story about a few of the guys being shocked Woo daves was beating them (and winning tournaments) with zebcos.
  13. Call a spade a spade. That veritas is stouter than most H rods out there.
  14. PROS-sensitive and lightweight, just a "comfortable" rod to fish. Plenty of options in different powers\lengths, easy to get a replacement if a bps is close by. Cons- only one, as already stated is those terrible pac bay guides. Ive owned 3 rods (2 carbonlites) with pac bays and all have lost inserts, one lost two.....Id heard that fuji has gotten more expensive; going to other manufacturers must keep costs down. Never had this happen with any of the other 25 rods ive owned... If it werent for the fact its no issue for me to return them and exchange; the guides would be a dealbreaker for me.
  15. Ill 2nd the bushnell banner..it's a great scope that gathers light really well. I can't say enough good things about it, I actually took an older leupold off my 6mm Remington for it. It's a great value and its low light performance has been a huge asset whitetail hunting when the deer are moving before my eye can identify them.
  16. Food for thought, a lot of respected salt water gurus swear up and down it is the difference between getting bit and not w/a lot of species in their enviroment. It's a different atmosphere and species obviously but it does make you think. I used no leader for awhile and caught plenty of Bass. Now, unless I'm frogging or being lazy, it's a leader every time. I'll happily take an extra fish caught w/a leader; even if its a placebo effect on my part. I also enjoy tiring a fresh section of line via the Alberto, just feels cool lol.
  17. Anyone else remember the staged "shirtless horseback riding" photos that were released of him? lol
  18. The crawfish are as safe a bet to get bit as any lure when chasing shallow river smallies.
  19. Thats ridiculous....Price the parts out first, some times imports can have random excessive prices. In alot of cases the ball joints are part of the control arm; your ball joint goes bad, you need a new arm altogether. Definitely get another opinion, if you can find a reputable shade tree kinda guy, it's not a massive undertaking.
  20. Spike-it pen....no negative scent like a sharpie, lasts forever (I've had my 3 pack for 5 years), and you have it on hand for plastics.
  21. Believe me,I'm all over the cheaper protein sources like, tuna, hard boiled eggs, lean ground beef, chicken breasts (not so cheap anymore) and 1% cottage cheese daily.
  22. That's much more reasonable J.H., going out and buying a couple GOOD steaks retail is ludicrous...my father in law and I got a couple Holsteins to grow for a year and then have butchered. It's a dairy breed but they eat pretty good, just have to feed them during the winter. My grandpa used to keep one chained up to keep the barnyard vegetation down, then butchered and fill up the freezer.
  23. About a grand a month counting diapers and formula for two kids. Irish twins are expensive lol. The bills went up since I started lifting in February, I'm always eating and though I'm pretty savvy, meat ain't cheap.
  24. They are still made, sort of. Hideki Maedi bought the mold and is manufacturing them under the "teckel" brand name. He also has a pretty cool version with little flapper feet instead of a skirt.
