  1. Not sure if it's been posted but here's a great pix of what we are always looking for on sonar. Looks like the outside bend has the usual worn rocks with inside bend collecting debris.
  2. nice! I'm heading up there the 1st or 2nd week of July so maybe we can meet up. Wanna fish SNJ? Deptford/Glassboro area? it's only a 30+min run
  3. +1 for power pro with mono backing to save money. I use 10lb on most of my spinning gear. only 1 rod has 20lb. my baitcasters start with 30lb. best braid tip i can give you: it will snap your rod in a heartbeat if you try and un-snag a lure using the rod. let out line and set the rod down. wrap the braid around a stick and pull back like ur water skiing. if you pull slow enough many times you can bend out the hooks and get ur lure back. don't wrap the braid around ur hand or cork handle bc it cuts both.
  4. You have to click the drop down arrow and enter the gift card BEFORE you hit "Proceed to Checkout"
  5. Academy has 300yd spools of #20 and #65 Power Pro for $9.99. And they have 300yd Sufix for $19.99 http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/powerpro-20-lb---300-yards-braided-fishing-line#repChildCatid=116662
  6. any kayak beats the bank. you'll be in heaven. the sun dolphin will suit you fine. i've been through many kayaks and the one constant is my Perceptions 9.5' Swifty. it's not as nice as my buddies $1200 yak but i get along just fine. plus i've never thrown out my back car topping it like him. it's on sale now at Dicks for $250. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/perception-swifty-deluxe-95-kayak-15ptnuswftydlx95spsk/15ptnuswftydlx95spsk
  7. Did you get that yak yet? I'm always down for kayak fishing SNJ. I haven't fished the city limits in ages. Bucks co in the house! You been to Green lane lately?! You're not going to believe this by my new lake in SNJ is almost as hard as GL. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse. How are the Poconos?
  8. TW will price match it.
  9. definitely wear sunglasses in close quarters like that. some people have bad spatial awareness
  10. great find j bab! i never made an internet meme but if i had time i'd make one that said: I don't usually throw ribbon tail worms but when i do i like them to be free. here's the rebate form: https://s7d2.scene7.com/is/content/dkscdn/FrontEndDev/F&S/2016/Rebates/PowerBait2017RebateFS.pdf
  11. Good people are hard to find so you'll be grabbed by a company up in no time. Good luck
  12. Someone's bass fishing hobby is about to turn into an obsession
  13. from what i know you want to identify the 'slot limit' and remove that size. normally this is done via electroshocking a sample of the pond. if you throw a 5" senko all around the lake what is the average size bass you'll catch? 8-10"? if so that is the overcrowded population of the lake and you want to start removing those. ask the owner if it's okay for you and everyone to only remove 8-10" bass. this rebalances the population by freeing up bait which moves up the food chain to the larger fish... making them even bigger. you're growing bigger fish while encouraging bucket fisherman to only take small fish. win/win. there is a great video on pond management on BR. I'll post it if i find it. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/bass-fishing-fish-biology.html
  14. I'm a Boss jig guy also but I buy cheap skirt tabs and use a zip tie to fasten. Fast easy and secure.
  15. x10 on this. forget the next 100+ lures, half dozen techniques and 3-4 rod combos and buy a kayak. it will change your fishing life and pays for itself within a 2-3 seasons saving money by being able to unsnag lures. the easiest way to catch bass is to stop fishing i.e. we are usually overworking lures. make 400-500 casts till ur tired, take a break to check ur text messages....bam fish on. this is what is meant by 'listen to what the fish are telling you'.
  16. use lighter jigs, especially if ur fishing rocky bottoms. and when ur snagged don't pull forward. lift upward with the rod tip. i'd guess ur fishing from the bank b/c you can get most snags back from a kayak/boat. only buy jigs with vertical eyes b/c they pull over obstacles better. around rocks or thick weeds I use a glass bead in front of my senko b/c it allows them to pull thru like butter. you could do the same with jigs. if there is no current you can just go weightless with a T rigged senko or beaver. it's the same slow drag presentation
  17. shipping costs jump considerably as you cross each zone. i'm on the east coast and offer free shipping 'east of the mississippi'. you could probably do something similar. if someone lives west of the Miss I tell them to message me their zip code to see if i can absorb the cost or split the extra with them.
  18. if ur not catching bass on a jig it's b/c ur fishing it too fast. the aggressive bite times are same as a senko--they will hit it on the fall. otherwise you have to finesse it on the bottom. leave slack in the line and periodically hop it 3-4" forward. sometimes just tap/gently shake it in place. covering water is key when pitching to cover looking for an aggressive bite on the fall. watch Bobby's technique at 2:30
  19. turns out there is one on the way to my house as well thank you sir.
  20. maybe the Gambler 'Wrecking Ball No Hook With Skirt Collar'. there are lots of options: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Football_Casting__Swinging_Jigheads/catpage-TTFJ.html
  21. a beaver style baits slip thru cover well. normal craw trailers will get hung up and tear off. i get more bites with 1/2-3/4oz. they take more patience b/c you have to gently wiggle them thru...but that's why lighter weights get more bites. 1+oz does shine if you zero in on their location and the reaction bite is on. and sometimes you flat out need that heavy weight to get to the bottom of 6ft of milfoil. start horizontal to get them to reveal their location. then go vertical into their house with the lightest weight possible.
  22. Grab the side of worm and pull/stretch it 2" passed the jig head. Do this on both sides of the worm and it sits perfectly flush.
  23. my order stalled last month. Called and the owner answered. He said 3-4 magazine articles had highlighted Gopher tackle in the last month so he was slammed with orders. nice guy and he got my order out that week. As far as the jigs go they are bittersweet. i love the 1/32 oz b/c it's so light it glides thru the water. but the hooks leave a lot to be desired. i won't be able to trust them to any fish north of 3lbs so make sure you have light line, rod and plenty of drag. sorry to say i won't be re-ordering unless the hooks are upgraded. gonna try siebert outdoors next round and shave some lead off the 1/16oz for lighter glide http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Morel-Jig-Head-1022.htm
  24. Dang on a silver platter!
