  1. now there's something you hear said too much about hospital beds. nothing will get you farther, happier or help you live longer than the ability to laugh at yourself. in other words you should live to a ripe old age of 150 clayton
  2. Are you the one cleaning out the deptford store!?
  3. i'm looking to dance with the biggest, fattest lady in the lake so i have to calm myself down with slower acid jazz/lounge music
  4. PQ. don't get sucked into KVD marketing. more (11) bearings doesn't necessarily translate into quality let alone effectiveness. they stuff extra bearings all over the reel for bragging rights (like in handle grips). doesn't help cast farther.
  5. I agree their laptop and imac costs too much so i bought the Mini. i'm not happy with apple or pc at the moment. but in another 3-4yrs i'll be content with the cloud offering open storage for all files and won't look back. i'll give you a tip the guy in the apple store gave me: buy a mini for $599 and use the $700 you saved on a macbook to buy a new 42" TV to hook it up to! hilarious and beautiful idea. with the op...GREAT suggestions CFFF1.5. i'll pass that info onto many frustrated friends and family. i love technology.
  6. If memory serves me right TW has a presidents day sale...then memorial..then fathers day.
  7. you are a multilingual whisperer my friend~
  8. my gf would probably smack the back of my head if she heard me call that reel..sexy. nice job
  9. what were you doing when u got ur finesse worm bite? its VERY important. dead sticking? if so build on that b/c they want a slow, bottom contact bait. ie try a variety of soft plastics w/ light or no weight (weightless senko, 1/16oz brush hog, 1/4oz jig, 1/16oz drop shot). combine multiple retrieves in one cast makes it faster/easier to find out what they want that day. start with long dead stick. couple 8" drags. softly wiggle in one place. long pause. wiggle again (usually insert bite here). light hop few times. swim back. good luck
  10. welcome!!!
  11. God I love the internets
  12. i lived in NC for 2 years and thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I found out about Waffle House. People in the hospital should get an I.V. of sweet tea!
  13. I have the same stalled hook set. Seems like alot of the time they take the lure and run at you so make you pause and reel up the slack before sweeping into them. My retrieve is rod tip high and roll as slow as possible to keep it off bottom. You can actually turn the vibration 'off' if you reel slow enough (reel extra slow and use a limp wrist to absorb energy from rod)....and then give the rod tip a twitch to turn it back on. I slow roll/vibrate for 10-15ft to get followers....turn vibration off...and turn it back on again=you get crushed. Its so exciting its hard not to immediately set the hook.
  14. 8 was the straw that broke this camels back. i just bought my first apple. we all know they don't have viruses like windows but the icing on the cake is i don't have to learn a whole new operating system every 3 years
  15. awesome first vid Jeff! just sub'd and looking forward to seeing lots more of ur adventures.
  16. x2 on fishing the feeder creek. i used to fish a farm pond with little cover. in that case look for spots where fresh leaves come back on ur hook. it means it is a clean, aerated area which fish will be attracted to. this pond had the fresh mulched leaves right in the deepest spot...it held the lunkers. from that point forward i always took notice when a fresh leaf comes back on my hook. or fresh green grass/weeds. the opposite being slim algae=stay away and look for better bottom composition.
  17. i have Metropcs and get the same reception as my old ATT phone, but its only a fraction of the price. i bought my smartphone at Best Buy for $115 (they will activate any phone so you could buy one used/ebay etc). its $50 per month TOTAL. that includes all taxes, fees, texts, pix, internet usage etc. $50 flat. i think for $60 you can upgrade to a higher G speed. No annual contract. Month to month. best deal in town if they are in ur area. Verizon has better reception but for $800 savings each year I'll take a dropped call or two.
  18. lol. make sure ur next phone has a Swype keyboard. you don't gotta lift ur fingers at all ie no thumbs. just draw a word out. its amazing and the word prediction is spot on b/c there is really only 1 or 2 options when drawing a word on a keyboard (you can even swerve around a letter). i can imput text/type 4 times faster and with 95% better accuracy. i don't think apple has it yet but alot of droid phone do (i have a LG Optimus) http://www.swype.com/
  19. use them in a fishes mouth. seriously though i don't know the depths they run at. should be hard to find out with a little experimentation. just keep them bouncing off structure and cover and you'll get the strike ur looking for. use a Sharpie to write the depth on the bottom lip when ya figure it out.
  20. i too have a love/hate relationship w/ my smart phone. if fact, i would go so far as to say most of the time it's not so smart
  21. i found a bunch online for cheap but still haven't found one that i'm totally happy w/ ie has a very small diameter hole. most seem to have a 2mm hole. you could probably slide it onto 300lb mono so there would be alot of wiggle room on 65lb. i'll keep ya posted. http://www.etsy.com/listing/113970962/beads-brass-dogbone-flare-end-beads?ref=sr_gallery_6&ga_search_query=dogbone+bead&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all these look perfect but cost the same a boss hubs after shipping: http://www.etsy.com/listing/110778096/groovy-hemalyke-hourglass-beads-16mm-x?ref=sr_gallery_9&ga_search_query=hourglass+bead&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all
  22. What type of metal and gauge wire do you use for making wire weed guards like on Eagle weedless hooks or Johnson weedless spoons? I'd love some weedless spoons that don't break the bank. (I thought I'd try rounding the end off a #5 willow blade with metal sheers and seeing if I could get a flutter out of it. If not I'll just buy blades from janns.) I see guys using 45lb Nylostrand on jigcraft but thought a spool of something would be more forgiving to work with. Or would 20lb Nylo work better? I've heard of guys using orthodontic wire but seems costly. Also I'd like weedless hair jigs and I don't even see a source for them so I thought I'd tie them up too. Any thoughts as to why they aren't on the market? I could peg a small grub with 1/16 bullet but winter fishing is tough enough so I thought I'd give them some extra subtle lures that won't get snagged when I lay them down in the rocks for a minute or two. I'm fishing shallow (5-10ft) gin clear, unpressured water w/ a stable environment so finesse presentation is even more important in winter.
  23. smaller lures, lighter weight, fished very slow. 1/16-1/8 oz texas rigged small brush hog or beaver or 4" plastic of ur choice. dead stick a wacky rig senko (light twitch every 15-20 seconds max). 1/8oz drop shot with a 3" grub (or cut off a small piece of senko etc) and don't shake/work...just let the under water current do it's thing. try a slow drag. get crazy and maybe give a lure a hop. it you get a strike you know you can give them a little more life. after you have a successful outings try keeping the light weight but going with a larger peice of plastic. maybe a tube or 5" senko on the drop shot. a weightless t-rig 5" senko. a bare t-rigged craw (no skirt or jig w/weedguard). good luck
  24. very nice. does your wife even bother arguing with you anymore?
  25. ah man, i wish i had a 12 lb pet.
