  1. x3 on double palomars
  2. i smear one drop of superglue all over the guard. it will strengthen the weakest weed guard. once it drys crack it apart to achieve ur desired strength. i like to crack the upper half completely free and leave the lower half or bottom 1/3rd of the guard glued. i have tons of jigs from many different manufactures and they now all have the same weed guard consistency/strength. i didn't like having to change out jigs just b/c i encountered different cover. i also didn't like having to constantly monitor/adjust my hook set depending on the jig (too many complicated variables during the day let alone in the dark/night fishing). and i didn't like having to pay and arm and a leg for 'timber jigs'. they are all now strong timber bashing machines and i can apply the exact hook set to all. (open water and/or structure fishing is exempt here b/c i don't need the weed guard let alone a very strong one).
  3. it's been said and i agree....layer as much sheep and duck on u as possible all these high tech fabrics on the market aren't jack compared to wool and down. (excluding the top windproof/waterproof layer) i'll second flannel lined jeans too. i fell in love with these this year but they ran out of my size http://www.landsend.com/pp/StylePage-437387_AF.html?CM_MERCH=Shopping_Cart
  4. frack frack frack ur boat, gently down the stream
  5. this is a link for season 7 but the rest are listed at the top of the page http://rockville.tv/Lunkerville_Season_7/Season_7.html Edit: opps i don't have that link anymore so just search the site. http://www.lunkerville.com/seasons-1-6/
  6. good article about fishing SB in cold water. basically the same deal http://www.***.com/4-coldwater-spinnerbait-tips-you-need-to-know/
  7. slam a $1 walmart spinnerbait into a log and the bass won't care who made it. the benefits of less expensive lures is that you don't care about losing them. which means ur more likely to put them into nasty spots. which means you are fishing where bass live . and you can learn the difference between a bite and a branch. and how to un-snag them. it's nice to upgrade to better quality after the learning curve. i could agree somewhat that expensive lures with beveled blades have a slight advantage in open water when using them as a suspending reaction lure (mid water column). but bass def care little about details when ur bouncing off the bottom and cover. lotta people just keeping buying cheap lures and buy a hook sharpener .
  8. haven't tried them but you can basically do that with any jig. fan the weed guard out to both sides like a V. then smear one drop of superglue all over guard. it will stiffen up even the weakest weed guard. once dry crack to ur desired strength. i like to crack the upper half completely free and leave the lower half of the guard glued. i have tons of jigs from many different manufactures and they now all have the same weed guard consistency and are timber bashing machines.
  9. i stick with bullet weights for C rigs and T rigs all the way down to 1/16th oz. inline spinner bait bodies are much cheaper than official mojo weights and i use 1/32oz. anything lighter is ultra finesse and i use split shot w/o ears. the removable ears collect too much algae/weeds. BPS has 'clam shot' weights. crimp them on ur lower line and pull them back and forth 8" to wear a slight groove in the lead. then slide up to position and cut the worn line off. tie hook and ur good to go w/o line damage.
  10. ^that there is the green machine I modeled mine after. now if i could only fish as good as the captain
  11. buy the square stern if you have the option. double pointed canoes are much easier to find. i'm on my 4th season with two canoes, both double pointed. i added a motor after the 2nd season and never looked back. it's still nice to row on small bodies of water but the motor gives you access to so much more fishable water. and means a TON more fishing time b/c ur not wasting energy rowing and ur moving quickly over unproductive water to get to high percentage spots. i use a homemade motor bracket on both. i stand up and fish in both. setting the battery on the opposite side of the trolling motor offsets the weight and balances nicely. i'd also recommend a 6-8' battery to trolling motor extension cable so you can set ur battery in the middle or all the way up front. it also helps balance ur rig front to back. too much weight in the back with you leaves the front end doing a canoe wheelie.
  12. fully exposed tube jigs snag up a lot. i like them in a boat, in the cold and in the wind. they suck from shore b/c you gotta break off but they are easy to un-snag from a boat or kayak. the huge benefit is it's easy to hook up sensitive cold water bites or on windy day's when you can't detect the bite b/c fish hook themselves. they also spiral down nicely and sometimes the fish really key in on that. the majority of the time i use keel weighted EWG hooks. they are weedless but more importantly they don't hang up in rocks near as easily. always go with the lightest weight possible. it's gonna be different for lake vs a river w/ current. if ur fishing from shore go even lighter.
  13. cannon balls, half gainers, back flips, front flips, belly flops...i love jumping off a diving board. getting pushed unknowingly into the swimming pool by a buddy isn't quite as fun but I've survived them all.

  16. didn't see the show but i like how Shaw Grigsby explains it (actually Gary Klein via Shaw). basically he thoroughly fishes a small snap shot of the entire lake: from one main lake point, to it's secondary points, all the way into the back creek channel. if he has success/ identifies a pattern catching fish on secondary points only then does he start jumping around the lake to cover all secondary pts.
  17. true story (names have not been changed to protect anyone). i upgraded my cable service today from economy to preferred .. it tripled my channels. i literally just sat down to start surfing and thought 'maybe i'll get some outdoor stuff' ie fishing channels?! at 2:02pm EST i flipped to NBC Sports. BAM! Mike D and Glenn "Clark Kent" May right out of gate!!! my face lit up like a kid that just got handed a full size Snickers bar on Halloween
  18. x3. i pay health insurance with mine but then get to buy more gear

  21. Cool story by a Natgeo photographer. I don't understand why a bass has never done this with me http://gizmodo.com/5405892/national-geographic-photographer-meets-deadly-leopard-seal
  22. ^x2 all heads fall over. if you believe there's a shaky head that stands up in rocky cracks I got a Brooklyn Bridge to sell yah. it's all about the worm....and even if you have a 'dud' salty worm it becomes all about the action (keeping it moving/hopping/dragging). i'd say the worlds most perfect floating worm only becomes more valuable in very pressured/calm water where you need to let it sit in one place for a long time to entice the bass. then its safe to go with roboworm, big bites squirrel or anything elaztech like Strike King or Zman
  23. interesting theory. you should experiment and see if megastrike turns a lure on the same way as a landed fish. or turning a rock over and rubbing some algae or real insect/crawl on the fly
  24. the name of the game is "low and slow". that will catch you fish. after you learn patience feel free to speed up, experiment etc. also relocate often. ur first cast has the highest possibility of catching a bass in the area so relocate often. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/13845-guaranteed-to-catch-bass/
  25. when you get a double digit on a pink rod w/ zebco 33
