  1. Try Blackshoals once the water returns.. I-20 west, exit 82 (goggle it). Lipless has always tagged them in the 4-6lb range, there is also a large amount of sunken timber there as well, so you have some real options to try, there is also Lake Varner which is a little further up, exit 91 I think anther place where lipless crankbaits shine. Good Luck
  2. Being in Columbus also places you very close to Westpoint and you can also rent boats of various types at the various marinas there, there is one that even rents a fully rigged Bass Boat. WP offers some good fishing as well, Crankbaits and Jigs have served me very well there. Good Luck
  3. There are some decent bank fishing spots, once the water returns that is. Takes some scouting, goggle earth is good tool as well, you will find some great looking locations that will be off limits due to others abusing the kindness of the owner and not cleaning up after themselves or not respecting the owners property. Rain is on the radar for the next 3 or 4 days, may help, believe me I have tagged some 5-8lbs on Christmas day, as long as the water doesn't freeze over, you can get a tap - Jig bite brings the weight... Welcome to Georgia
  4. It depends, I usually start my pre-spawn activity around mid - late February depending the weather conditions. But with this rain we are getting and the warmer weather, depending on the body of water, you could have some begin to stage sooner. I wouldn't bank on that simply because the weather is unstable right now, warm and rain, cold and dry...No real thermocline stability right now...Although I have caught plenty towards the end of February, allot depends on the water levels remaining high as they are currently on some waters, Lanier & West Pt are still down as it relates to Spots, LM will still seek out what vegetation there is. Varner, Black Shoals, Oconee, Jackson can be also be good
