  1. My bass attack any size or color line. I use the #4 Mono & 6# Braided for the perch. Only makes a slight difference. But it makes casting a lot easier with small floaters.
  2. I thought that could be true. By the must have 1 mph requirement. Is the fish excellent food ? I could have a hard time emotionally doing 1 mph .
  3. If you get a correctly built battery ? They will last a long time.................. IF IF You keep the water level ALWAYS above the lead plate tops. Florida use & heat can ruin batteries much faster than in Maine. ..............Some batteries have very low CORRECT water levels. Call the battery company for the correct heights. Low & high. The charger MUST MUST have a TRICKLE current that is correct to PREVENT sulfation of the lead. Get one with EASY .. BIG cell covers. Some are hidden under a big plastic label. TERRIBLE to check & add any water. A plastic gauge can be used to test the TRUE CHARGE in each cell. Should show all cells are the same when new & each watering & charge. Always wear a face shield when rewatering the cells. Batteries do explode for no reason. We had a dead battery explode with lots of Baking Soda in the cells. The posts hit the ceiling. I FEAR doing rewatering of wet cells............ Piece of cake to get many years out of a big enough battery. ?
  4. my post was to painful for the bass pros to do..
  5. Excellent options Francho. I would never troll at 1 to 3 mph. Hungry fish ATTACK at any speed needed. Shore fishing makes no 1 mph retrieves. Always troll with the current Always make clockwise turns to return. Speed up in all returns to keep lure at 1 mph. Do not stop trolling to drink or eat.
  6. If the fish is too lazy to do 3 mph ? He is not worth it.
  7. Is it O K to put my thumb into their mouth to get a grip ?
  8. Thanks all of you. But I changed my casting hand / wrist to Arthritic. Wind was high. I had no accuracy at all. But The distance was very good into the wind, with a 11/2" Rapala floater. I measured the ACTUAL casting lengths of both rods leaning in the corner. The 7' is 6" longer with reels side by side. ............BUTT I refilled the Mitchel 300. It has the new Ande 4# right near the spool lip. That probably is the biggest change.
  9. Too easy for me. Need to catch them in open waters after the spawn. Our Gobies & others will eat a nest clean in seconds if left unguarded.
  10. Having a bad senior morning. Going from 6' to 7' rod using 4# soft Ande Monofilament. Thank you.
  11. Reduce meat prices. Drive more carefully !
  12. All are POSSIBLY the young of the LMB staying guard at the nest site. That sunfish is trying to decide to risk a attack on the kids in the neighborhood.
  13. January ..............2 adult are living great in a boat ramp area with open water fed by a spring. They take turns running down fish constantly. After about 5 fish each in 15 minutes, I left.
  14. Our River Otters are experts at doing that.
  15. That boat looks heavy. so I would not worry about doing 30 to 40 mph & doing a very sharp turn. My very light weight 16 ' x 4' Aluminum 15 transom &28 hp motor is carrying 16 gallons of fuel & a size 27 car battery & several anchors. swivel arm chair for fish fighting. I just gets on to a full plane . I am 200 # I have done a sudden turn with no sudden hooking around of the boat.
  16. Too short will overheat the motor and can lose prop bite in rough water. too long is O K under most conditions. Only exception is if you can get on a fast FULLY out of the water plane. Then some long shafts can do a sudden very sharp U turn & possibly toss or bang up a person. a 20 hp motor to me would not normally do that in most boats. What style and L x W is the boat ? how big are you?
  17. after 1 month. I was very skillful about most good days.
  18. Retired almost 20 years. Somebody has to keep plugging away. Joke. ? Hope all of us get as lucky as I have been.
  19. Most all warranties for batteries are referring to date of purchase to end of warranty time period. Use it every day constantly. Or only 1 very light duty time. It is still for 10 years. Or any other time period. Call Minnkota Motors For the correct size of battery you would need for maximum pleasure at minimum cost.
  20. I am surprised that a REAL fish that eats Plankton would not be welcomed as a CLEAN and Healthy meat for humans. What are the latest cooking results ? Something positive is needed.
  21. Really large ones could just not be caught on tackle. There are boating accidents in places where the bodies are never found / surface from bloating with gas. All those dying Jumping carp ? Scary to think of all those TONS of meat feeding cats continuously. Want to go skin diving at the outflows of any dams holding cats ? 2 six packs and I am game !! What did the large cat say when he saw the world record L M B ? SUSHI tonight !!
  22. Channel Cats are Very aggressive area owners. I have caught the same cat in the same feeder creek break water into the river. they pull in and eat everything that is there. Day & night time animals. Then move on to another current breaking creek. I do not think anything is safe with a big catfish around. I remember PROFESSIONAL repair & inspection divers surfacing & refusing to ever go into a area when a huge cat came out to size them up for dinner. Edit Can you have ANY fear of HUGE + 300 pound cats where all those jumping Asian carp now own the waters ? " Hey guys. Look at that nice basser wading !!. YUM YUM "
  23. I just left a bunch of pre spawn perch, They ate a hook on a pull tab. When the group decides to eat. Anything works. ?
  24. Pass I used my pop can TAB RING lures on pre spawn perch. Trolling at high speed & multi hits till a big momma self hooks her self. Boring but lunch or dinner AFTER they complete the spawning.
  25. What is with the outrageous pricing ? It Look like a inch longer is double the cost ? 3" is $ 9.99 ?
