  1. good point about batteries. I would save up for a NONE Lead Acid type. Like a LIFEPO4 type. They are sealed & can be left forever full / half / run down for years. I have some of the first power tool battery packs STILL at + 90 percent. No worry about water running down each winter. Less than 1/2 the weight......... Cost ? Dirt cheap. IF IF you keep it forever. Like I have. Enjoy
  2. You are being honest with yourself . EXCELLENT. You know the water line is high enough. Stop adding more equipment weight. Save up or swap with a bigger boat now. This is the time to find a boat in the off season. SWAP
  3. Do not add any more stuff to your already OVERLOADED kayak. Stop & save up for a bigger boat. Please ?
  4. I never worry about resell. I buy what I like with my money.
  5. Last year was so bad in my bay that I should have just given boat rides. This year boat rides. Then a few minutes of perch fishing. Not enough bites? Ride home

  7. It is so difficult to accept that you STILL are not catching big fish. With $ 7,000 worth of electronics. That feeling never happens to me with my 10 year old $ 70 finder.
  8. I can pickup & eat right or left handed ?Drink ? steer a car ? NO NO NO
  9. Sharks Bull Sharks in the St. Lawrence River. Forever. Leave enough food and there are no attacks.
  10. Oh well The purpose of fish contests. Is to make LOTS of money off of people. Having anything to do with a contest. Clayton , N Y takes every contest possible. MONEY for ALL the local businesses. Very simple
  11. Protected bays are ideal for them. Afternoon wind builds quickly where I am. With LOADS of big cruisers and freighters throwing wakes at me. Old guys need power assist sometimes. ?
  12. I would do a Hawaiian outrigger 2 pole setup to reduce cost and use of 1 heavy pipe. Make control very simple with just a stern clamp on setup. then you can use the standard flip up & down locking mechanism. couple of wide jaw clamps with adhesive backed rubber sheet to prevent drilling holes in the gunnels. A lot of the stuff is available from www.Mcmaster-carr.com We can email back & forth if needed on design & parts.
  13. Bow mounts are the most power efficient. Require less motor swings to stay on a windy course. Checkout the Motor Guide wireless GPS bow mount. It is saltwater rated. series Xi3. Model 941600020
  14. Bow mounts are the most power efficient. Require less motor swings to stay on a windy course.
  15. Why not mount any type of normal motor on a outrigger single or double bar outrigger set up? if in arm reach ? Just to save the legs when the wind picks up.. Are all GPS troll motors forbidden to be bought any person ?
  16. My age is showing now. I forgot the complete S O S sequence. Left off last 3 dots. Handy with seniors & vehicle horns.
  17. Stickers should have nothing to do with a float plan. 1 is playing. Float plan can be life & death ....injured with no help coming soon enough.
  18. My parents told me I was Polish. 40 years later. I am Hungarian decent. Among others. ?
  19. One more ALMOST got me. Started walking out on the flat ledges that are 1 piece 1/2 mile long across the river. 2" or river water going over them. flat & 20' wide. WHAAM I am on my back. Looking straight up at blue sky. I can not inhale at all. I do not want to move either. I want to breathe. I can not. Hurting hurting more . I want to breath. I can not. Eyes are filling up with tears. BREATH BREATH. Finally I get little sips of air. Seems like a long time. I turn my head downstream. My shoulder is inches from the edge . If I had rolled and slid over the edge . Into 3 to 4' of water. Did not see the slime. BROWN SLIME. Oh well.
  20. Most squeekers are not gears. They are SURFACES rubbing on each other. Oil is too thin. or a spacer is gone. Or a failed bearing. Very rare. Does it doing in free spool ? Stop with applied heavy drag setting ? All help you find the noise. I had a cheap reel do a metal sound. Was excessive pressure from VERY TIGHT drag & tension spread the end of the line drum. i NEVER had reduced the drag at end of day or the SEASON. DUUUHH
  21. Use a HUGE ...Muddler Minnow in a small.... VERY SLOW moving creek . You DO NOT NEED TO CAST very far. Just enough to get the line & 10 # leader & Muddler to drift with the current. Start in the shady water if possible. You can buy & use a " Floatant " to put on the fly. That way you will see the taking of the Muddler lure on the surface. Crush the barb down. Wear a hat that has face & side flaps. Most important is POLARIZED SUNGLASSES. A lure in the eye ? NEVER You should hook yourself a few times...... NO problem with no barbs on a hook. You can let it drift 5 ' a couple of times Then 10 feet a couple more. And so on. Bass & bigger anything will jump anything that is startled. Carry a SKI POLE with a loop. Looped around your none rod hand. In case you get a foot caught as you wade deeper. There SHOULD be no need to wade in smaller streams. Forgot. Practice on a park grass area with a small piece of tape covering the hook. a 20' cast is plenty on small streams. Have some loose coils to feed out LOW casts about 3 to 4" above the ground will get you into the current. Twitches as it floats down stream. Then STOP the lure as it is moved around in that 1 spot. 15 to 30 seconds Then start over. Piece of cake. Stream fish are skinny & ALWAYS hungry. Enjoy
  22. I would catch a couple of Bluegills. Keep alive on a thin piece of string tied to a STOUT pipe in the ground. get a 2 " red & white float. Hook the sunny threw the upper lip only with a big hook with a crushed down barb. Heave hoooo. Have something to remove the barbless hook . Very long nose plier or those plastic tools with each end having a slit in the ball. The bass will race to that easy sunny. 3 feet from the bouncing ball. Enjoy
  23. I am in with T-Billy. Thank you Billy. Wife loved the logic. ?
  24. We have had some very serious conditions OVERCOMED. If you wade. Avoid all of the ones we posted. The sneakiest danger to me is sinking into very soft mud. Very panicked wading situation ? I am walking along a very low wood single track train bridge on a curve . 6' over a tiny creek. OWWWW I have slipped 1 leg all the way up to my left thigh between 2 ties. I am doing everything to wiggle free. STUCK I take a rest. to calm down. Then realize I am in the boonies. I suddenly panic as I see the very SHINEY rail tracks around me. I am NOT going to be run over by a crushing locomotive OR a unmanned end of a train backing up. I was free in less than a minute. Panic is good when needed.
