  1. So after this past tournament on St. Clair where in typical Michigan fashion, the rain never let up and we had real low air temps, I confirmed my need for a full suit bib/Jacket combo. What are your guys' favorite rain gear? I am looking for one that is warm and keeps me dry. I have heard the Simms gear is the best, but that is slightly out of the price point I'm looking for. I have ben looking at the 100 mph and Pro Qualifier suits from BPS, what are your guys' experiences with them? and what else would you suggest, thanks!
  2. I just ordered a 7' Medium Duckett Micro Magic Cranking Rod, and am now searching for a reel to pair with it. I plan to use the setup for squarebills, and smaller sized cranks (1/4-3/8 oz). I am looking for a reel that can cast these light lures well, along with being lightweight. Gear ratio will be 6:4 or slower, but that's not a big part of my search. I was initially leaning towards the Curado I, but have since been looking at the chronarch ci4+. I have a couple gen2 revo premiers and like those, and like my curado e series reels as well. How do the curado e and i series compare? Also, what other reels would you guys look at/suggest in this price point? Thanks for any help
  3. I'm thinking about buying a new casting setup for my smaller cranks (dt 4 and 6 for example). I'm looking to get better casting distance with these light lures. I've been using a 7' MH Veritas and 7' MH BPS Crankin Stick and both with Revo premiers for the past few years and have had no problems, except I feel like I should be casting farther than I am. This is all normally in open water just fyi. I'm thinking a rod along the lines of 7' Medium would be best for this, and the Veritas Winch has been what I'm looking at, but I'm very open to any suggestions. What do you guys suggest? Or am I doing something wrong with my current setup. Thanks for any help
  4. Where did you find the results for this tourney? I've been looking all over for the fall Monsterquest results. St Clair is awesome right now
  5. I recently bought a new Stradic CI4+ 2500FA, and am looking for a rod to pair it with. It will be an all purpose rod but much of its work will be done in fishing tubes for smallies. What would you guys suggest?
  6. I've been searching the internet for an accessory that goes on the seat post on your boat, it holds your pliers and scissors and stuff like that. I see many people have them, but i can't find any online. Where can I find one? Thanks
  7. I personally like to pop it, and have long pauses in between some pops. But I have had bites while walking it. Mainly I use the original Pop-r.
  8. How did you end up doing?
  9. Right now I would go to the Mile Roads, the water was much clearer.
  10. The Selfridge area is pretty good from 5-8 FOW using tubes and traps
  11. Thank you all for the response
  12. That's a Pig!
  13. So would you guys rather a 1. crank bait rod, (softer more give to it)? or 2. a regular graphite(or anything else) rod like a veritas? For Lipless
  14. Is the Shimano Compre cranking rod that much or at all better? Thanks for answering
  15. Which rod do you guys think is best for throwing lipless cranks? mostly 1/2 oz I'm leaning toward the BPS Crankin Stick 7' MH or M The rod's price range is $100 or lower
  16. LEGGOO!
  17. I've posted a little on this sight but no formal introduction has been made yet. I'm 16 years old and fish tournaments throughout the summer. I live in Oakland County but also fish a lot in central Michigan, on lakes like Wixom.
  18. Thanks for the info
  19. Which is better, the BPS Crankin Stick or Shimano Compre Cranking?
  20. I think i'll give the palomar one more shot early this spring, and if I continue to have a user error then i'll switch.
  21. Ya, I have had a lot of problems with the palomar, my typing was a little confusing.
  22. *When i use a palomar knot.*
  23. What is the best knot for 8 lb. Flouro? I seem to break off on the hook set occasionally
