  1. Is the Daiwa Coastal 3500 any good? Seeing it for $80 on "that auction site" brand new. Also looking at the Temple Fork Outfitters G Loomis SIgnature series 7'6" F/H 1/2oz-1 1/2oz 10-25lb rod or 7'6" F/M 1/4-3/4oz 6-12lb (which would be a better fit?). That would put me at a little more than I was thinking of spending, but would it be better?
  2. Thanks for the advice. I only chose baitcasting, because I'm much more comfortable casting and retrieving with it. I could be persuaded to go spinning, but I really don't know much about good spinning setups!
  3. Looking to get a combo set up for just the snooks, jacks and whatever else I can catch in the inlet area. I also fish the spillway quite often. Im not looking for something extravagant, and don't want to risk my bass setups to the salt. I would hate to rust out some gears or drag plates. Anyways, I was thinking this setup: Powel Disel 7'6" XF/H Daiwa Millionare S 300 What do you guys think? When at the spillway Im usually fishing an ounce or more when the gates are open.
  4. Went out and checked the places out on Thursday. Liked the seawall area, was awesome, but definitely need to bust the surf caster out for that area I think! I just so happen to have one at my disposal. For the bridges, I honestly had no idea how to even fish them, where to fish, or even where to park! Everywhere I could see I could park, was quite a ways from the bridge. Then, what spots do you even fish, along the path on the top over the side? All the bridges I ever fished there was bank underneath you would fish.
  5. Thanks for the info! I'll try both. I've designated Thursdays as my "go fishing no matter what" days so ill hit them in the next two weeks. Whats the most cost effective way to get some live bait? I'm not real experienced in the salt side of fishing (thats weird since I've lived in south florida all of my life, eh? Lol)
  6. Hey all, Been awhile! Been getting more into inshore fishing, and heard Flagler bridge was pretty awesome for snook. Any advice in where and how to fish it? I'd be fishing on foot Thanks!
  7. I often use the Clackin Rap in Helsinki Shad color with great success. If you like lipeless cranks, check that one out as well.
  8. My usual retrieve is a steady retrieve, slight speed up, then stop so the bait swims nose first down to the bottom. IMO this imitates a fish diving to grab something off the bottom to feed on. I vary my retrieve depending on what I find works, but this is usually how I start using this bait.
  9. I've also never used the big dipper, but do in fact use the big ez in florida five-o color. They are both great baits. I love the scent on the gambler baits, but I think I like the action of the dippers better, especially on the dive.
  10. The last bait, in the final picture is amazing. Id buy it! lol
  11. Keel weighted Texposed. I like the smoke/shad color myself
  12. Hey, This is my first season fishing, and I'm having a hard time with FLs hot and humid weather. It's currently 86 degrees out and 60% humidity. What are some good baits and techniques to use when it's this hot out? It's only April and getting hotter by the day
  13. Not yet, haven't made it to Dicks. This weekend maybe.
  14. Thanks for the info. I do understand that, but I think the issue at hand is the frog gets completely waterlogged on the first cast. No matter how hard I jerk, the frog simply chugs/bounces the water, it never planes to walk. Perhaps thats how its designed, though. I'm no expert of course.
  15. I am in WPB. Palm Beach Plantation, literally directly across the street from the Dick's I'll check out the pad crashers. Thanks guys
