  1. Not only did Fishn.jim make them for me...I now have met him (super nice guy)
  2. It has been my experience that bass make their beds almost anywhere...usually from 1 to 3 feet in depth.....often there is some type of overhead obstruction (limb, bush etc.) but not always...the most unusual bed I have found in 50 years of bass fishing was in the middle of a cove about 2-3 feet deep on top of a car hood...( have no idea where the rest of the car was...!! Please remember that we need to release the fish yu catch off of a bed in that same area because this is nature's way of re-stocking our lakes ...even if it is a fish worthy worth showing to friends, riding a fish around in your live well an then releasing it back at the ramp...is NOT a good idea..!!
  3. the angle at which the bait floats is very important ( so yu hafta have the correct pinch of led to achieve this) easiest way is to take pinch and scotch tape it to lure back half and under the belly and float it until the bottom lip is barely under water....that way yu get a good spit and pop or move it until yu are satisfied.....the dremel small hole and epoxy lead in place
  4. turns out that "cadman".....can NOT help out after all....soooo....I am still looking for help....!!!
  5. turns out that "cadman".....can NOT help out after all....soooo....I am still looking for help....!!!
  6. I need someone to pour me some buzz baits of my own design...I used to do it myself but have aged out of that...so now I will just hafta pay someone to do it for me..... I only need a dozen or so for my own use or would take more if need be...If you could do that for me, I would certainly appreciate it...thanks , Buzz
  7. Move on up to a bigger worm (snake) 16-18 inches.....( I hafta make my own....glue or melt two 10 inch worms together (ripple tail section of one to head section of another and no weight....slowly swim back on top or slightly sub-surface....Yu will be amazed...!!
  8. Only ONE way to clean cork Rod handles...and that is MAGIC ERASER ..just a little water to dampen the eraser & scrub the cork & it looks brand new.....!!......Truly Magic...!!!
  9. Here in the North Carolina mountains we use this regularly in our streams & small rivers..works great if you can keep the trout off of it..lol of course they pull pretty hard also...no monsters but lots of fun....we usually wade the streams upstream & cast upstream & let your bobber wash back to you over the riffles & runs & deeper pockets....we usually like to have the Senko ( the smaller the better) only 12-18 inches under the cork(which also should be really small)..favorite cork color is chartreuse....most of the time depending upon stream, we catch about as many smallmouth as trout...great for the kids ..!!
  10. thanks for the info....1st I made my own....(about 30 yrs ago)...then got too busy & another fella made them for me....about 20 yrs ago.. he made me a lot & I sold them in local tackle shops for about 10 yrs then moved to Florida and took about a dozen with me..now I have lost every single one of those and do not have a sample left...Soooo, I am looking for someone to make me a dozen or so for personal use & for my fishing buds...I am now an old man but still enjoy fishing every day & have now moved back to North Carolina....Who is "Siebert" * how can I get in touch with him...???
  11. shelled corn kernels really works well...(I have found that just plain corn works better than flavored or vitamin fortified) only problem is that most everything loves it from skunks to blackbirds....best place to get it is from a local farmer (& who knows what might arise from that),,...Tractor Supply & Walmart also has 50lb bags for 7 or 8 bucks....tape a jar of peanut butter to a tree about knee high and cut a hole big enuf to let them get their tongue in the jar, it will not last long.......Be sure that baiting is legal in your area....we only do it before season and use a game camera to find out what is on our property, cause it is illegal to kill a deer over bait in the area we hunt...
  12. I am looking for someone to "pour", make, mfg., a couple dozen buzz baits of my special design....thanks
  13. I have a new buzzbait design that really works......BUT I am not a very good tackle maker...too old & shaky....SOOOO ....I need someone to make me a couple dozen of my design... I had a few made some years back & that caught a lot of fish....but down through the years....I have lost them all except one & I am afraid to use it for fear I will lose it...I feel sure that we can reach a price that would make us both happy & I will be happy to prepay....just send me an e-mail bmr3368@aol.com......thanks..!!
  14. Thanks Guys...!!!....I can almost hear them squeaking now....lol
  15. Well I was sure disappointed in the 3:16....that blankety blank thing sinks...!!!.....Now why in the WORLD WOULD ANYONE MAKE A POPPING LURE THAT WILL NOT float...??????????????????????
  16. I have always held my buzzbaits out the window of the truck on my way to the ramp just to make sure they spin freely and maybe even this wobble will wallow out the blade hole a little... plus it ensures a smooth spinning blade with no spurs......BUT I would like to know how to make them squeak..?? down thru the years I have only a couple that would squeak and I never knew why , but they always seem to attract more strikes..!!....So give up your secret to make them squeak...!!!.....thanks
  17. I do NOT think you or anyone else would be very competitive in an 8 ft Jon Boat with a 2.5 kicker....yu would be going against 250 HP motors and 20+ ft boats with every piece of equipment you could possibly think of to help yu catch fish... trolling motor, depth finders, power poles, fish finders, live wells, GPS.. even machines that supposedly start a feeding frenzy...i think that Bass Hunter has a good option...(co-angler)
  18. Thanks guys.....I have the little boogers ordered....I'll let ya know if they are as effective as they were THAT day......I suppose that guy removed the treble and used a wide gap hook to make it weedless.. The lures will be here on Friday and we are going to Okeechobee on Monday...BTW that Fishbelly popping shad looks great....Wonder how I could switch tails and glue on a boot tail to give it that fish catching wobble...???
  19. Thanks Guys.....It was the 3:16 Little Booger,,,I recognized it immediately from the pic....Now if I could find a place to order them....!!!....any suggestions..??? 3:16 lures Little Booger..
  20. I recently saw a soft plastic boot tail (swimbait) with a concave head (so it woiuld pop)....of course it floats and has a hook slot to make it weedless and the tail part was relatively short and very limber.. so it would give the swimming action of a swimbait when popped or pulled...BUT....I was unable to get the name of it...but it worked ...because with my own eyes I saw it catch approx 15 pounds in about 10 minutes and with only 5 keepers ...AND he threw back 2 shorts....Can anybody out there give me the name of that lure>>>???...Lure looked to be about 4 or 5 inches long and the boot tail flopped all over the place...(musta been hinged or indented)...very limber tail...He was fishing it through a weed patch that was partially thatched on top....very difficult to get a lure over or thru it.. impossible for a hardbait...I tried some regular swimbaits and was able to swim them over the mats but to no avail...
  21. Thanks guys....I got in touch with Josh and He really fixed me up.....He is just a super nice guy AND does an excellent job hand pouring plastics....and yu talk about custom work...He is the Mack daddy when it comes to custom...difficult colors, no problem...difficult shapes, no problem...correct size & color of fleck, no problem...hi-float, medium float, no float....no problem... I think maybe you are begining to see what I'm talking about....and all this and a nice guy also..!!...I have found a True CUSTOM Hand Pour Company..."Uptons Custom Worms" BTW ....I now agree with WRB...the "monster 20inch worm" is really just that....a true "Monster Snake" and HEAVY, HEAVY..!!...and BIG, BIG,HUGE...!!!
  22. thanks guys.....having trouble find the 19" Upton Custom straight tail worm in stock.....any ideas...??? Same problem with the 16" Delong Worm (although a little short)..?? any ideas where I can buy some of these...???
  23. ...I am looking for someone who can hand pour a 20 inch big worm ("snake") or any info I can get about this type lure...the ones that I can find commercially made are by Gambler lures (16 inch) and BPS (16 inch) and neither are very supple or have a good tail (both are somewhat paddle tail) and I need a pointed tail or even a ribbon tail...If yu know of any info that might be helpful please lemme know. thanks
  24. I use treble hooks on all my flukes , but only when fishing weightless and in open water (points, rip-rap, around piers or under floats)...otherwise I use the old standby texas rig weightless...and this is for obvious reasons...(minimize hangups)....still have the same great action and IMHO the hookup to strikes ratio goes way up...!!!
