  1. Thanks Fry! I was boiling with anger about this when I looked at the two logo's side by side which look nothing alike. Bass Pro Shops is my young sons favorite store (more than Toys r Us) and we spend hours in there together often. I was going to boycott them BIG TIME until I saw they dropped the law suit. Glad to hear Johnny Morris did what he did. Stand up guy for sure. Hopefully he fires his sue-happy legal team next!
  2. The San Diego Jam knot is very good. I use it up to 50lb test for saltwater. BTW - The Palomar knot is fine up to 50lb as well for mono or flouro. Anything higher than that I use the Reverse Trilene.
  3. It takes 2 to make it cast out of sight.....
  4. This brings up a good question. What would you consider an effective lure retiever? I have recently purchased quite a few LC RC's and would love to fund a good retiever.
  5. DX742 SF or DX702SF if mainly around docks
  6. I just looked up on Boca Bearings for the ABEC7's on a Curado 200e7 and they run almost $100. OUCH! That is about what I paid for my reel new on closeout.
  7. What type of bearings are you guys putting in the 50e's?
  8. To me I feel switching to braid has been the largest factor in terms of increased sensitivity and "feeling" what is going on at the end of the line. With no stretch in the braid, I am looking for a fishing rod with a softer tip and slightly more moderate action than what I used before to help prevent pulling hooks. Setting proper drag has also become more important as well. Lastly, balance is very important as I feel the lighter I can grip my rig, the more I can feel what is going on. Just my $.02
  9. I am going to say definitely use braid. It is so much more sensitive than other lines. Tie off a flouro leader and you are good to go.
  10. My son has a 6'6" Triumph Light/Fast for about 2 years now. He uses it all the time for dropshotting and throwing small crankbaits. It has held up great. I have fished it a few times and really enjoyed it as well. I say "thumbs up"!
