  1. I was just looking back over this thread and I think that some of you may have mis-intrepreted what I was asking. I wasnt asking about athletic looks but rather how athletics look to sponsors. I realize that marketability is obviously first and foremost but I guess my train of thought was any type of edge you can say you have over John Doe is a good thing right...... :-?
  2. I am looking into getting some Lucky Craft crankbaits.... I already have some of the LVR series and topwaters and I like them a lot so I think I will try some of thier other cranks. Now for my questions.... 1) So far I know that I am going to get the Flat CB series for "finesse" cranking. However I cannot seem to find diving depths on the BDS series. Which set of baits would cover the entire water column in a "fat" model? Or which is better the BDS series or the Moonsault series? 2) I like to keep my color choices limited as these baits are rather expensive to be buying every color. So, if you had to choose a number of colors, lets say less than 6 to cover all situations which would the be? I only have four in the LVR series and I think that they are Spring craw, Ghost minnow, Chartruese shad and Chartruese greens. Would these work for the crankbaits too? I would really like to stick to 4 colors if at all possible, for simplicity reasons, but if you feel that I would need 6 to cover all situations the go ahead and list 6. Thanks for the input in advance!!!!!!
  3. I have had two major complaints with ebay.... One is that some of the sellers on there charge way way way too much for shipping. I saw a All Star Platinum for $124 buy it now price. However the shipping was $26. I have shipped many a rod and you can easily ship a rod for $15 in a PVC tube via Priority mail. Second, as I think this was mentioned before is the amount of shill bidding going on. Ill let you in on a secret. I go to college and live in a dorm room with someone. I have personally seen him talk to another person in our dorm to get the price of his product raised aka shill bidding. I sent ebay an email about this and gave both of their info and the auctions they "cheated" on and ebay did nothing as they still do it today. My advice is be very careful in what you bid and be wary of possible scams.... This is sad that you have to approach ebay with caution but that is what this world is coming to.... Everyone wants a quick buck!
  4. For some of the guys higher up in the sponsor levels and some of the sponsors themselves, do athletes appeal more to you eye than the regular fisherman? I understand that winning tournaments and gaining exposure is the ultimate measure of success. But would playing athletics in college help me against other fisherman. I have no idea about this and I have never heard of this subject being brought up. Its also not often that you find athletes into competitive fishing, at least in Ohio, so I was just curious..... Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
