  1. I use 6lb Stern Fluorocast. So far so good. No problems. Sorry Outdoorsman, but anything over 6lb is not UL anymore, its just L, lol.
  2. iFishingLite, I have it for my EVO.
  3. Barbara always seemed to be a fat girls name.
  4. eat the snakehead, they are delicious!
  5. He is right. How dare you guys give out your opinions on products to help inform people and decisions making help. How dare you have guys on here like DVT help us with problems, and offer discounts to fix our equipment. How dare you have trustworthy people who will send you money before you ship out your product to sell, even though you never met that person(I had a guy do that here, I was shocked, real genuine people here). I say raise your glass to this guy. DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YA WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA!
  6. Yeah, they are spreading fast, and have been for years now. My canal has had an inredible comeback with bass fishing now that I have hunted these Snakeheads and killed them out. I fish my canal at least twice a week, and every once in a while I will spot one, then the hunt is on. I havent pulled one this big out in a while. They are an amazing animal though.
  7. Grease on that, oil for all spool and small internal bearings.
  8. 20#. My Revo SX has 20, my Shimano 50E has 12
  9. I never really realized that until I read it myself. I was just tyipng away. Thanks guys
  10. Yesterday afternoon I walked out to fish my canal to get on that evening bite. Upon my quest, I noticed a big female Snakehead hanging out under a sprinkler water pipe. As I carefully cast past it and try with my lizard to get it to bite, it just would not pay no mind. I snuck over by the edge where it was hanging out to make sure it was still there. Its big red eyes and large mouth were still apparent in the water. So I quietly moved past it on the other side to bring the lure accross it in the other direction. Still nothing. I then grabbed a soft plastic BPS frog, and put it on the hook. The fish was very interested in its loud flapping legs hitting the water. On the 2nd cast I walked it over her and she ate that thing like it was its last meal. I gave it 2 seconds, the set the hook with all my might and off she went. She pulled line and swam in every direction she could in the narrow part of the canal. The edge of the canal is lined with rock ledge that cavitates under the grass shore about a foot deep. As she tried to hide and swim under there, I could hear the line being scraped along the rock, the sound was like a nylon string on a guitar. As I pulled her out while tightening the drag, she dove down pulling more line until she rocketed up to take a leap of faith out of the water. She jumped about a foot out, shaking and thrashing, trying to get free. I got her close to the edge and ready to bring her out, when she went into a death roll, and tangled herself in my line. As I went to pull her out again, she rolled again, then took off for another run, and yet another leap of faith. She was now tired out, and tried one more time to duck underneath the rock, and testing the strength of my line. As I pulled her out, and scooped her half of the body that would fit in my net, she was landed. The line was pretty beat up from the lure till about 2 feet after, but it held up against this monster. I used to tell people you needed braid to fight these beasts, but the YoZuri holds up, in my opinion better. From the complete rod bend, to the digging and scraping of the rocks, this stuff holds up. I use the 20# for my heavier rigged plastics, and 12# for my lighter rigged plastics.
  11. If you are a recreational fisher, than that 1 trusty rig is all you need. You have a good general purpose setup. If you decide to start fishing on a boat and doing some all day serious casting and retrieving, then you will want different rigs. The best advantage for having an assorment of rigs is so you dont have to keep pausing to rig different lures all the time. If one type of lure isnt working, put down that rig and pickup something different. The reel is already tuned for that specific lure, just throw and go.
  12. Wardens Rooster Tail, I kill them with my UL.
  13. I carry around a Bass that I caught 4 years ago everywhere I go. Theres not much left of it but some dried up skin and protruding skeleton, and it kind of smells, but its a good conversation starter!
  14. Florida Wildlife Fish and Game comes to check out the kill.
  15. Longevity would be the key element. In my opinion the SX is a little better built. I have one and I love it.
  16. We have something similar to that down here. Its called the Snakehead Roundup, for Bullseye Snakeheads. Capt Shane has a lot to do with it. Its pretty neat. Winners are determined by the total weight of their unlimited number of catch.
  17. Great stuff, works very well.
  18. For spinning gear you need to use the Ultra Soft. This stuff is tuff!
  19. I use a 50E on a MED action BPS Tourney Special rod with 12# YoZuri a 3/0 widegap hook annd a 1/32 oz bullet weight for my plastics that I need rigged for slow and easy retrieves. Other plastic setups are Revo SX on a MED Vendetta rod 20# YoZuri 1/8 oz bullet and a 3/0 for faster action. A Pro Qualifier on a MED/H Lightning Shock rod 65# Spiderwire a 1/8 oz bullet for heavy cover. A Citica 200G on a MED/H Lightning Shock 65# Spiderwire a 1/32 oz bullet for my soft plastic frogs.
  20. I use Stren Fluorocast on my ultralight. 6#, no problems, same line for over a year. As a matter of fact, I was using it yesterday morning. I caught a Mayan Cichlid and it pulled under the rock ledg. I could feel the line scraping against the rock. No problems, didnt break, landed the tough bugger.
