So while I am waiting for Shimano to send me my replacement rod that broke, I had to mount my 50E on something. I use this reel everyday, as it is my around town canal fishing reel, and can toss just about any bait that I would use around here. I spool it with 12# YoZuri, and use a M action rod, so it covers all ends. At first i had it mounted on the Clarus that broke where the reel mount is, then I mounted it on a 6'6 M action Berkley Lightning Shock Rod. It just didnt feel right in my hands. As I was pulling my rods and reels out of the closet to get them ready for Toho next Wednesday, I came upon the Abu Garcia Vendetta rod that I had the Revo SX mounted on. Well, since I had sold the SX, I forgot all about the rod. As much as I told myself that I shouldnt do it, I did. I mounted the 50E on the rod, since it is a 7' M action, and it is a very strong and sturdy rod. Darn it, I am in love with the way that it feels in my hand. The way the bottom of the rod is contoured with the 2 finger split grip under the reel seat, helps to handle the combo very well since its the way I hold my rods. So there is where its going to stay, and the rod that Shimano is replacing is going to be used for my future Chronarch 50E.

Actually picked up a couple of 2 pieces for my future travels to Boston, and South Carolina. Nothing really impressive, but for $15 you cant go wrong. They are Daiwa graphite rods that I picked up from Dicks on sale. The price was right, and they seem to be very sturdy. Only time will tell. Gt a 6'6 M, and a 7'0 MH

Never all off. I know some people that do this, but they have to be very careful how they cast, and use a lot of thumb control. I use 2 or 3 on my Shimanos depending on what Im throwing setup wise, and the tension knob to fine tune for wind. I never have to thumb my spool during a cast, and I cast just as far, if not farther than those that think that no brakes is the better option.

Use cheap mono for a backing. Your only going to need approx 80 yds of braid at a time.

A light braid like 30# Spiderwire would be good for spinnerbaits. I wouldnt go any bigger than that. My next setup will be a Chronarch 50E with 30# Spiderwire for those spinnerbaits.

Just picked up some YUM Garlic/Ail scent from Dicks today. This stuff smells just like what is on the Gambler baits. If the bass eat up the Gambler baits, then I hope they do the same to my other baits.

Get yourself a Curado 50E, a good MED action rod, and some 12# YoZuri, PROBLEM SOLVED.

We getem on snake down here a lot. We use them for big bass, but occasionally there will be a little 3-4#er that will take it on.

Just like anything, it has its ups and downs. Once you get used to handling it, it is pretty easy to work with. Just make sure you ease into it with the braking system on the reel so you dont cause a major nest.

Get the baitcaster. It will be usefull for later on too. Get a Citica and put it on a Sellus rod. That should be a good solid setup for $200.

Cornmeal.

Watermelon red flake 6" Zoom Lizard. They produce all the time, and you can present them just about anyway possible. Fish go nuts for them when I fish them.

Get a hold of them VIA Facebook. They respond very well if you post on their wall.

Down here is FL, we use snake plastics. They are about a foot long. We use them for big bass, but every once in a while we will get a 2-3#er that will take it. Bass are ruthless.

Down here you can release them, but it has to be where you caught it. You just cant transport a live one. Either way, you should still kill it.
