  1. You dont know till your lure is in the water. I see people fishing them when I go by those. I have yet to fish one off Turnpike, but need to give it a shot.
  2. I use acetone to clean the roller bearings, which are incased in a plastic type material, and have never had a problem with them.
  3. I had a feeling this comment was coming, lol.
  4. I dont think Walmart is an authorized Shimano dealer.
  5. When the water temps get "just right" those fish will turn into monsters. Down here they were like that about 2 weeks ago. 2lbers were hitting and fighting like 5lblers. When I was in Maine over the summer fishing on my wifes grandfathers lake, those bass were insanely agressive and strong. The water up there is colder than down here, and in the summer its that "just right" temp for them to be real aggressive. The biggest one I caught was 6lbs, and I thought I had a 10lber on, she was pulling me around big time.
  6. I have a soft canvas material bag that my wife got from BPS. This thing can hold like 6 or 7 rods and reels in it at once. Pretty good. I think its like $30.
  7. Its funny you say that. I was fishing my canal the other day, and was thinking how I missed catching them as much as I did. I must have killed about 50 of them in my canal over the past 2 years. I still see a few, and will be hoping they come back up in numbers a bit.
  8. What price you looking to stay at?
  9. Duh, I just didnt want to be the one to say it this time. LOL
  10. VENDETTA! Great rods.
  11. PQ is a very durable reel. You cant go wrong with either, you will have to see how each feels in your hand. The PQ is gonna be a dual brake reel, and the Revo S is Cent. brake only. I personally would go for the Revo S (yes RC I said that) over the PQ.
  12. I wont buy a rod or reel I cant put my hands on or look at with my eyes first, thats just me.
  13. The 7' should be just fine. You dont really need to go longer for pitching/flipping, its more what you are comfortable with.
  14. Med ModFst. Abu lines of rods tend to be a little stiffer for their ratings, so you should be good for just about anything with that rod.
  15. Anybody wwatch the weigh in online? Not too many big bags. Was a rough day for them out on Lake O. I had a feeling it was gonna be that way for them with the weather the way its been, and the fact that the water is high. Predictions for the next couple of days is that the fishing is gonna pick up. What yall think?
  16. To soak, acetone or lighter fluid. To spay out quick after soak, brake clean.
  17. Its graphite frame is what worries me about taking the stress, never mind that its an Abu product, but it still doesn't help the fact either. :-)
  18. Ive narrowed it to 50# Power Pro for frogs and pitching, 15# Yozuri for swimming baits, lizards, worms, etc, 12# YoZuri for treble hooks.
  19. SX is may only brakes. I would stick with the S.
  20. Of course I would have to try them out. If they worked, then I would continue to use them, if not, then I would continue to use them, lol. Who are we kidding, its Shimano, of course it would work and outperform everything else! Is that what you were looking for you Lewser? Haha
  21. My buddy that I fishi with lives off Boyton Bch Blvd too. I believe hes by Ida. Will have to fish it. Thanks.
  22. Fishing Abu products you need all the help you can get, lol. ZING!
  23. A rod with the right action and a comfortable feel is the most important, No matter what, walking the dog is tiresome after a while, but it helps to have a better feeling setup.
  24. Good luck. Hope you catch some monsters and stay out of trouble. (dont forget to pack heat). Take pics
  25. I was originally from Beaver Dam KY.
