  1. Its why I always keep a rod and reel with me. My Co workers already know my fishing addiction. They are more shocked when I don't stop, lol.
  2. I'm gonna hook the boat to the truck tomorrow to bring to work since the transmission is fixed. I need to check the bearings and mount the new spare since I'm taking the boat to central FL this weekend. I may stop at the fishing hole before work depending on how nipply it is outside tomorrow morning. Might tie a jig to the T3 and see what bites. Saying its gonna be in the 40's. Brrrrrr.
  3. -20 in the North, and 80 down here, lol. Got to love S Fl.
  4. Hey Lunk, where you get them Snook at?
  5. D, that Endura 30 is a great little motor. That is the same one that I use on the front of my boat. I can run on a 24 series battery all day on that thing. The one in the back is a Endura 55, and it needs the big 27 series to power it all day, especially on full blast. Good idea to keep a second battery with you. I carry 4 total on my boat when I am going to be out all day. The water levels Lou was referring to is the water in the battery. Just make sure its just high enough to cover the lead blocks, and use distilled water for best results. Also, invest in some battery boxes to help keep corrosion affecting the boat. Like Lou has stated the rain down here sucks. The transmission in my truck took a dump, so I can't take the boat out anyway. I will maybe hit a few spots on foot tomorrow sometime if the weather clears a bit during the day. Have to make a run to BPS to get a spare trailer tire and rim for the boat for the trip to Central Florida this next coming weekend. Hopefully I will be able to pull a few pigs out of her Grandfathers lake. At least this year I will have my boat to fish out of, and a strong trolling motor on the back to cut through the thick grass in the premier spots. Last year I got some flack bringing 7 setups with me. Since I know I can load my boat with all my setups, should I bring all 11? Lol.
  6. Nice boat. What you put on the back of it? Good luck with the fishing.
  7. Had a blast with Lou yesterday. There was no shortage of fish for us that was for sure. We did see a lot of people heading in for the day. We figured they weren't catching fish anymore, but that didn't happen to us all day. Discussions for a different style of contest was had, and I would say that a slight hiatus would be good to keep it fresh. I will give all of you a slight clue: You better start getting well rounded on your lures. Happy New Year Y'all!
  8. Good job D. Well, I just about snuck in there. Hopefully gonna start the year off on the right foot. See you in the AM Lou.
  9. Got me another 20" this morning. This time I had my ruler with me. Might be the same fish from yesterday's. Gonna have to study the pics later.
  10. Heres the 2 from Sunday and the one from yesterday morning. The 2 from Sunday are an easy 16", and the one from yesterday morning was to my surprise a 20" fish. Once I looked at the picture and then measured the rod, it was an easy 20", maybe a little more. Darn rain this morning, but Im gonna try for a bit, maybe a little after work since I am going to close the shop about noon.
  11. AH, thanks. I will have to post the pics later tonight. Been so darn busy with these holidays and whatnot. This is why I don't think I will be able to run this thing. I barely have time to fish let alone head this comp. But I do still have good ideas to really mess with people and see who can make out with the challenges. I carved the notches in my seat cover on the boat that covers the 2 batteries in the middle. I now can use it to measure fish, and not have to worry about leaving the ruler thing in my truck when Im on the boat. However, this morning I still forgot to grab the ruler and put it in my pocket, and was on the other side of the hole when I caught the one this morning. Once again I used my rod as a guide, so I will have to figure that out as well, lol.
  12. Got 2 yesterday about 16" each, and a nice one this morning close to 18-19. I don't even know what I have now, nor what my measurements of my fish before since I cant find my notepad. I think someone accidently threw it out at my shop. Oh well.
  13. Not bad. Got a good tip to fish snakes in the holes out there. Also, we will most likely be doing a lot of flipping. Gonna get a good arm workout I hope.
  14. Wahoo! Got my Dobyns Champion Flipping stick. Mounted the Super Duty on it. Ready for the glades Lou.
  15. Hey Lou, should I bring all 12 rods and reels with us when we go out? Lol
  16. What are you talking about? Get the damm frog rod and go slay them!
  17. You guys got some nice stuff too. My wife not only got the T3 Ballistic for me, but the rod as well to match. Then she topped it off by going to Mikes house and picking up a Hawg Tech curved handle with red accents. Some more spools of Power Pro, and a bunch of lizards and worms for bait.
  18. Bah Humbug! Merry Christmas Y'all!
  19. Looks like I am only going to have one shot at this on Sunday. As it sits I need a good 50" to be effective. Hmmmm...Maybe next month. Looks like its gonna be a lot of flipping when we go out Lou. Got to land some pigs.
